Can We Get The Gunblade From The GNB Concept Art?

Was looking over some screens of the new Shadowbringers Art Book and apparently this image was shown during a stream talking about the development of the new jobs and man, they pretty much nailed translating the outfit from the art to the game, but I'd love to get that huge gunblade too.

Given the animations for the job, that thing would clip right through your head pretty horribly.

My roe's hand clipped through most gunblade handles and floats 3 feet off his back anyways, in addition to clipping into the jacket when his hands were at his sides (and the new MGP long hair punching through the collar), so I think the game already doesn't put much stock into clipping issues.

I’m disappointed what we got as the Gunblade. The weapon looks nothing like a blade, more like a pocket knife. Why can’t they give us something a big as DRKs weapon? The one in this picture looks so much better than what we got.

If I was going to hazard a guess, that is either a future relic for GNB or possibly just an early concept for Lionheart, probably more the former than the later, given Thancred in that image is clearly wearing normal GNB AF (I agree I was disappointed they made Lionheart so ridiculously small compared to how big the one Thancred wields in the ShB opening is, but that's game development for you. :().

I don't mind the size of gunblades we currently have (as hyur now, I was disappointed they didn't scale them up for my roe), but it is weird that the elezen model which was shown during the shadowbringers reveal at the fanfest and is still currently the image featured on gunbreaker page on the site wield a much more scaled up version of the lionheart than what is in game.

Can we get more gunblades period? You know, some with glow effects that don't involve running Heaven-on-High? More craftable ones?

The class is a lot of fun, but man is it far behind others when it comes to all-important bling.

I was disappointed there weren't any primal models for Ramuh, Ifrit, or Shiva.

First i would want return of slashing damage, i'm tired of beating enemies to death with a stick SFX. 5.01 was a mistake.

Not sure about that specific gunblade, but we definitely need more, and bigger gunblades.

Thats because glow effects tend to be exclusive to relics, and Jobs that debut are ineligible for relics before its xpac (same goes for crafted primal weapons), Just give it a few years and it will have a decent selection of glowy weapons.

They're on a lalafell.

True it scales but look at DRKs weapon on a lalafell. It’s as long as the whole body. At least they can do it make it bigger.

Damn, that looks ace, hope it gets implemented in some way, maybe as a possible relic upgrade? I would also like to see Gunblades built bigger to scale, the Edenchoir and the Crystarium ones are just right in size and should be the standard, a lot of the designs are nice, but could do with looking a bit more imposing.

Not gonna lie, I'd totally take the greatsword gunblade used by the villain of the 70 job quest. Or Nero's gunhammer.

That IS a beautiful gunblade. But along with it, I'd love to see primal weapons that haven't been released yet -- ifrit, shiva, ramuh.. you can totally skip titan ;)

I also think we need smaller gunblades as well. They're suppose to be a revolver and sword combined so they should be sized to be held one handed. The relic Crownsblade looks like it's got ridiculous .50 cal bullets in the cylinder.

I do hope we get that one (it was also used by Regula van Hydrus back in Heavensward) and the Heirsbane we see Gaius and assorted other Garleans use. I know we were preached how the gunblades we wield are a more pure historical form compared to the Garlean "basically a long bayonet attached to a gun barrel", but seeing how the first gunblade we're given after the speech also has a gun barrel running up the blade, I think we can interpret that the versions we use happen to work like all our other gunblades.

Well as I just previously posted, we don't actually shoot bullets with our gunblades like the Garlean versions do. Player and Hrothgar gunblades use the same system that the FF8 ones do where it's basically we use magic bullets to enhance our blade during swipes, so it doesn't really matter what size they are seeing how they don't actually get shot at anything.

If these bullets are still exploding in the chamber, then they still produce recoil and vibration, which is the point of the gunblade. And if your detonating .50 bullets, you're in for some serious recoil, especially if the gunblade itself is producing an explosion right in front of you. Remember, this is a 1 handed weapon.
