I hope 6.0 lets us wade through something hot, thick and sticky.

I'd be very appreciative if 6.0 launched with a swamp based zone. It's an aesthetic that the game hasn't really explored to a large degree. There's a few arguable 'swamps' here and there but not to the degree that they dominate an entire zone.

I'd love for my character to make a mess of himself in a swamp, I'm sure his partner would be eager to clean him up afterwards. Perhaps much like swimming was introduced in Stormblood we could have 'wading' added in 6.0 to allow our characters to heroically struggle against the thick, sticky muck of a swamp.

That's one hell of a title you chose to go with there..

Western Rak'Tika would like to speak with you. That area by all terms and definitions, is a swamp. We could argue that the eastern portion of it is as well, but we can't see or access it as this section of the map is traversed entirely through arboreal locomotion. All those massive trees have to be rooted somewhere, and considering the vast size of them, they are unquestionably surrounded by bodies of water.

So what you are actually asking for is another swamp area, or perhaps a giant marsh? In which case you can look at the South Shroud.

Yeah, like I said in my post there's some swampy areas in-game already...but not as an entire zone. I just really need a swamp zone to make a mess of myself in.

I would also recommend for it to combine the slow-goo from Toto-Rak and the Gold Lung status from Aurum Vale.

Make it truly the Dark Souls of FFXIV zones.

I think that would be pretty cool. Maybe they could weave in the lightning dodging mini-game from Final Fantasy X as well?

But the goo is the worst part of Totorak. Nothing like trying to speedrun when the game forces you to go slow.

Unfortunately there aren't any swamps close to me here in Scotland, so I'll have to live out my messy swamp trekking adventures through the game instead.

Oh, and to preempt any potential controversy I'll point out that social distancing was adhered to. Mostly because I was the only one exploring the slimy rocks.

I am rather curious about what kind of biomes we'll get to explore in Ilsabard.

5.3 is giving us our first proper zone in the region with the Southern Bozja Battlefront, so I look forward to it. If there's one regard Eureka definitely didn't disappoint with, it was the aesthetics.

The goo in Toto-Rak grosses me out. I hate stuff on my feet IRL so yea, that dungeon just grosses me out haha.

There needs to be more forum posts with titles like this one.....

But yeah, some swamp would be awesome with more morbols and maybe one that’s big enough to be a 3 day wait fate... try to get that bad breath out of your clothes!

I’m not saying this is going to be a thing or that I have any hopes or whatever, but I wouldn’t rule out what he’s saying entirely.

I mean, FFXI has a pretty significant swamp area with a beast race fortress in it. Again not expecting as said beast race is sorta already represented..kinda (Turtles with crude scrap-metal kinda structures... kinda a fat/stocky Kojin in appearance and.. I dunno... Amalj’aa/LOTR orc tech?)

Though truth be told if I had to bet, I expect us to be going to a “Arabian-esque” place in the next with Dalmasca/Bozja.

I for one, absolutely adore this idea. Like you, i too am always trekking around in the hottest, muggiest, stickiest of places. It would be really nice to get some kind of recognition in the game for it. A clean-up emote would also be lovely to help simulate just how dirty you can get in these places.

Since they went out of their way to include an actual story-based reason for our swimming and underwater shenanigans, it would be worth a sensible chuckle if they did the same with lava swimming.

If you mean like Toto Rak, then no. No one likes Toto Rak.

I wouldn't object to SE taking a page from Xenoblade's Satorl Marsh. I'd argue one of video games' best ambient experiences at night between the graphics and music.

If they add swamps I want a "stinky" debuff that lasts until we submerged ourselves in clear water or visited an inn.
Preferably with a visual effect of all kinds of things sticking to our characters.

Don't worry, there is someone on Balmung who would be more than interested in obliging you.

I want a entire desert zone (Southern Thanalan really doesn't cut it).

Well, we will be going to the moon in 6.0. I hear that moon rock is sticky and I guess it would fit in the thick category too. The only thing we are missing is hot, so I guess you mostly got your wish.
