praetorium vs aurum vale

whats everyone spamming for their moogle tomes?

praetorium seems to last a lifetime with its unskippable cutscenes

aurum vale doesnt offer as much tomes but you can complete it faster

I'm fairly certain they nerfed Aurum Vale. I remember it being so much worse 6 years ago.

Hidden Gorge. I'd rather not go brain dead getting my tomes.

If you can put together an organized group, Aurum Vale hands down.

This. sac pulling lets you complete the dungeon in ridiculously fast times (About 10mins or less with a good group.) Could earn about 20 tomes in the time it takes to complete Prae once.

There's even synced speedruns of the dungeon with 3 BLU + 1 tank clearing in under 7mins.

I do Aurum Vale as a healer, with a mastery 5 offensive squadron. It's relatively quick (I think I took a lazy 14, 15 mins about it, other people would likely be quicker than me!). Obvs is insta-queue and I have some comfort in the foreknowledge of my squadron being dumb as bricks. I hate the look of the place, but I've found it the most efficient for my playstyle and time. Not doing stuff back-to-back this time, though, but IIRC last time I got my shinies in a day or so during the last moogle event. Broke my eyes, couldn't play for a week, so now I have to take it slower whether I want to or not. XD

Can confirm offensive 5 Squadron is great. I can average about 12 mins per run there, instant queue and no group needed.

Offensive 5 squadrons are just worth investing for in general. By far one of the fastest 20-60 leveling methods in the game right now.

To my surprise it's pretty fun too. Really established gamemode it seems with many unique mechanics, didn't expect that. I'm hoping it will get repopulated after the event.

After the event? It'll be as dead as it was before the event.
Do it now, it may be a long time before you can win those mounts again.

Aurum Vale speedruns with a three BLU + one tank set up are definitely the fastest way to farm tomestones.

Missile can instakill the first two bosses if two casts connect simultaneously, while the trash you do need to kill can be wiped out in a few seconds with a combo of Ram's Voice and Launcher spam.

Even with a "slow" group or a Squadron, Aurum Vale is about a million times better (and faster). So, yeah, Aurum Vale.

Personally, I'm not in a super hurry to finish things up so I just queue for all 5 of the standard dungeons that give the tokens and do whatever I get. This way will certainly take longer but at least I won't go crazy running the same dungeon over and over and over again 10s of times.

If you don't know what you're doing, look it up. A quick two minute to read through guide.
Or, read your tool tips. People go into things with no knowledge of how things work, don't read anything, don't ask questions, then wonder why they're losing.

Aurum Vale is the best dungeon in the game the hell you talking about ?

It’s unique mechanics and challenge favorite essentially dead in later dungeons makes it super fun. Though the 49 cap does make it boring for a few jobs. But it stands as the final test for good tanks and the only remote challenge you’ll have as a tank in Aurum Vale your a guide while others you’re just a Aoe spammer wall-to-wall robot

Go further back. Aurum Vale is a drastically scaled down version of its 1.0 counterpart. ARR onward its always been the same.

Aurum Vale has been amazing to play now that experienced and competent players wearing good gear are doing it. Adds pulled to boss room and not stopping to fight 3 seeds. Everything just melts.

My last AV run was anything but quick. Had a newbie tank who didn't listen to advice and caused multiple wipes, the healer got salty and started an argument with the other DPS over being a bitch to the tank, who still hadn't said a word.
Wasn't until it got to "well why don't you just leave then?" and "no because then I'd get a penalty" followed by "then just do the dungeon" that I had to chime in with "we don't seem to be doing anything right now..." that it finally got everyone back into action.

Ehh, I'd expect ARR content to be boring at this point to be fair. Most of AV's difficulty in the past also had more to do with people's inexperience than anything else, as even back in ARR a decent group made it rather trivial.

Back onto the topic at hand, I'll take Aurum Vale over Prae any day of the week. Particularly now that Dancer is in the game since it absolutely melts dungeon mobs. That said I'm going to probably try and do Rival Wings instead of either Aurum or Prae, if only because I want to get the mounts and maybe some titles before the mode is dead again.

There is nothing more boring in this game than killing one or two simple mobs at a time. Especially when the adds don't even hit back like the seeds in AV.

Can run Aurum Vale with an Offense Mastery Specced Squadron in like 15 minutes if you play healer. Way faster than the vast majority of groups I get there, and obviously faster than Praetorium.

I'm just doing different content to get my tomes so I don't get bored of running the same thing.

So far did 2 runs of stone vigil, 1 run of dzmael darkhold, 1 rabenastre run and 1 orborne monastery run.

I think mob wise its still the same, its the fruits they may have tweaked. I think they respawn faster vs where you had to to allow stacks to build up due to the respawn timer especially that first boss where there isn't a lot of fruits to begin with the. The second boss still packs a wallop for dps and mages with his 1000 whatever it called ton swing move.

I always do two Praetorium and the MSQ daily, which often as not makes it three. It's a nice change of pace at the moment because I recently finished up with The Great Hunt for my rathalos mount. Plus, I enjoy seeing the group in the cut scenes and I'm in no rush because I already have most of the rewards.

I'm in no hurry so hidden for me, but aurum can be done on average of 6 minutes with blues. Prae sucks and this just makes the unskippable cs worth a bit more.

Hahaha. Tanks that pull wall-to-wall and end up dying because the 12-16 mobs they just pulled all have AoEs pointing directly at them. And melee DPS looking on in disbelief because they KNOW the tank is going down and they're next.

Nothing gets me Prätorium or aurum... idm the later but not 20x in row xD

I do not need anything from the moogle tomes but if choice was between Prae and AV, hands down AV.

The boss of Fractual Continuum has the 10,000 ton swing.

It's basically the bosses version of "Do you wanna smash?".

Pretty certain the Kyklops of amnanesis also had a variant of 100 tonze Swing as well

Someone to blame? An extra person to share in the rewards while not doing a fair share of the work? A "supervisor" to make sure the BLUs dont actually have too much fun in there?

Not spamming anything. Just unlocked AST and started running low level dungeons. Had 50 tomes in like a couple days. Got the sparkle pony mount and that was that. Wasn’t really interested in the rest of the stuff.

Gotta love healer instant queues.

Lol. Just imagining the tank like:

Tank: Oh goddammit...

AV is only faster when everything goes right the entire run. Praetorium takes the same amount of time even if everyone just 2yr old their way through it.

It was nerfed by low level power creep. It's really easy right now, people just gotta eat their fruit. Tanks just gotta resist the urge to mass pull the first room and just wall creep.
