Why no rested bonus in Crafting/Gathering?

Yes I know there are manuals that give pitiful bonuses but Crafting/Gathering actually depletes my rested bonus without giving (+50%) like any L50. Too bad I thought rested bonus meant bonus EXP on ALL classes...

Was there a release note on this? Also, any thoughts from anyone?

I've been leveling Weaver and have noticed a significant increase. As a DoH, it really pays to raise your quality now too.

At 44 Weaver doing a 45 synth I I can generally get about 1,000 exp with rested bonus and about 200+ Quality.

Much better than the base 300 I should be getting.

I thought it was working when I was crafting, but I haven't compared the exact recipe with and without the bonus. I was getting over 1.4K doing the level 45 Alchemist leve in Ul'dah.

It is working but it is not shown in the log.

Is it? Can anyone disprove? I was grinding...something and like I initially mentioned the synthing was eating into my rested bonus, no acknowledgement in log but when the rested bonus had been eaten all up the amount of EXP given was exactly the same, so I'm sure it is broken, maybe EXP values generally have been better since patch still I'm sure it's not doing anything for my synthing hmmmz

It works, but I'm not entirely certain how it calculates with quality bonuses.

I.e. (recipe * (1 + quality_bonus)) * 1.5

Vs. (recipe * (1.5 + quality_bonus))
May have a level or two to squeeze out, so we'll see.

try using your rested bonus while gathering and you'll see it easily enough, synthing can be harder to notice because the quality bonus makes the xp range fly all over the place, if you really want to prove it to yourself just use rapid synth to complete a few at the tail end of the bonus and the beginning of the non-rested, assuming you haven't leveled up during those few synths you'll notice the 50% drop

Yes it works. As was stated, it's just not shown in the log, my guess is because XP bonus for crafting is shown differently than for battle.

While XPing my CUL I try to finish at around 200 quality then finish the synth. With Rested Bonus I get a bit above 2k each synth, and without it it dips to around 1.3-1.5k a synth.

It's working just fine. Do a craft without bonus with straight standard synths, then do it again later with bonus with all standards and you should see the difference. Add quality into the equation and it's a really nice buff to crafting.

It way that the XP bonus should go is something like (Base*Rested)*Quality or so? (that is mathematically the same as multiplying everything? god I think I totally mistook something but it's more or less add rested tobase and then do quality on top of that)
But at the initial levels where I'm getting only one god-forsaken leve for all of six levels on ALC... I've noticed that I get a lot more XP with Rested

Just finished by rested bar while crafting, it's working.

A synth with no bonus yielded 120 xp.
After the bonus ended, it only yielded 80 xp.

Don't ask why I was making a recipe that was only worth that much, eheheh * cries*!!!

definitly works, when your rested bonus goes off its clearly visable.

its base 50% auto add exp, scroll is base 50% with food, base 3% and with quality at 4/5% base all add to gather from the start
snyth exp +50%+50%+3%+quality%
so a 300 base exp synth with rested and scroll only would be +100% = 600

OK thanks for all the suggestions, good to know it is working for everyone but I really don't think its working with mine, like I mentioned EXP (ie Gathering) where there is no "bonus" gives me the exact same EXP pre and post RB, the mechanics are the only thing getting me through synthing so I guess I'll just keep on and have naps in between button presses lol... -.-
