Could there be more tomestone generators?

Roulettes.

Maps.

Hunts.

Dailies. (To an extent, but can't cap by just doing those)

Could there be something else? Could there be tomestones added to an existing element to give us another path to capping besides maybe FATEs?

I'm mostly just tired of roulettes at this point.

Depends on which type? Poetics are abundant until you''re at 80 and possibly even then. The 450 a week ones could be capped with doing dailies and maybe some BT quests/raids AFAIK

Sounds like there's plenty of avenues already. Do you want them to give us tomestones just for logging in, or what?

There was eureka which was really nice and Hunts are pretty decent too... but i get you, even more if hte roulett keeps throwing you into the same 2-3 instances or you just cant get the tome you need. Like why poetics for the relic? in the end we are just forced to run old stuff or fish for bonus >_>

I'd love to see tomes replace exp as challenge log rewards at max level. Doesn't have to be very many, but even if it's only 10 or so it'll make you feel less bad about accidentally giving that fifth commendation on level 80.

Khloe offers random tomestomes from time to time aswell.

Dungeons and Raids (both NM and Savage) offer tomestones aswell, not just roulettes - could always pick your favorite dungeon instead of running a roulette.

TBH I wouden't mind current BT quests giving both the unsoftcapped and softcapped tomes at level 80, with the SB and prior ones giving the unsoftcapped ones if you have SBs and giving poetics in all circumstances if you're Level 50+.

I feel like we're getting tomestones way too easily right now.

tomestones are overflowing in this game. if you're having difficulty capping for the week then perhaps you are bored with the game. take a break.

For Poetics, I got my 17 resistance-weapons (16k Poetics) in less than a week just by doing Eureka alone. For Fantastic I usually run Expert-Roulette 3 times a week and jump on a hunting-trainto finish my cap. Or do some Eden-Trials or Treasure Maps.

Oh, I read your post. Yet nowhere in it did I see a direct suggestion by you of an alternate means of getting tomestones. You just apparently want "something" besides FATEs. Great; so again, do you want them to give us free tomes for logging in, or what?

For leveling alt jobs < 70, some more big ticket tome givers besides "The Big 4", ARF(150), KoTL(100), Alliance Roulette(100) and MSQ Roulette(300). Copied Factory is a LONG freaking raid, and that should be upped to 150 for previous tier tomes. It should also give 100 poetics.

See, this is where your reading comprehension check failed.

The question was posited in a way to include FATEs as a suggestion, while asking if there was something else along with it that could be implemented. Even IF the question wasn't well formed, you immediately went off like I was asking for free handouts, when all I was looking for were ideas for existing gameplay elements to have tomestones added to them. To be fair, I should have specified that I was looking for Allegory, which could be rolled into whatever comes next. As for me suggesting something, the entire point of the thread is to get other people's opinions on the subject since I was lacking on ideas. For example, someone mentioned the Challenge Log, which I didn't even consider as being an option because I rarely pay attention to the thing.

But by all means, keep up being a jerk right out of the gate with your responses, I'm going to move on.

This is seriously the reason I keep having to cite on this forum for "why don't we get x for y"--

You don't get leveling roulette exp for every single roulette because they want you in current tier dungeons, because they need most people routed through those so that people playing current content aren't waiting in 30+ minute queues.

You don't get millions and millions of EXP per FATE because they want people to do current tier dungeons rather than FATE bash to 80, so that people playing current content aren't waiting in 30+ minute queues.

Trusts don't do big damage AOE rotations because they want you to run the dungeons in public and contribute to the queues moving, so that people playing current content aren't waiting in 30+ minute queues.

You don't get the current tier of tomestones in every roulette, so that people playing current content (aka expert) aren't waiting in 30+ minute queues.

If people had every option available to gain exp or tomestones, then they would do the simplest, easiest thing for the rest of the game and no one would get to experience anything else, and nothing would be random.

See also: ending up in Crystal Tower every time you queue for Alliance because that's the highest difficulty bar many players are able or willing to jump, so they only ever unlock that and they only ever DO that. It's miserable for everyone else who plays the game normally and wants to experience a variety of content.

Thus, tomestones and big exp bonuses are routed through a few specific duties, rather than equally through every duty, so that people playing current content aren't waiting in 30+ minute queues.

If you're tired of roulettes, why not do the other things that you listed that reward them?

There's only so much level cap content in the game. SE doesn't want to reward a level cap currency for doing leveling content. The only reason some roulette bonuses include them is give level cap characters a reason to help keep queues moving for those trying to level.

You're asking for another source besides FATEs. If you were trying to suggest FATEs, you would have written it as

As for why not FATEs, FATEs have already been given their special currency rewards (GC seals up through SB, gemstones for ShB). If SE were to reward Allegory, they would have to make the amount rewarded very small because of the way FATEs are endlessly repeatable and can be quickly done solo. Would you still use them as a source if you were only getting 2 Allegory per FATE?

The weekly tomestone grind is a tedious chore that needs to go away. There's nothing fun about running the same dungeon over and over. None of the other means of getting tomes a efficient for capping each week.

Let's just remove all gear from tomes and add other high level set to something else, then you don't have to worry about it.
Also you chose to cap the most boring way, I have never run the same dungeon over and over again to cap tomes.

You can get Tomestones practically everywhere. Not sure where else they can even put them.

Hunts are a very efficient way of capping each week.

I totally understand not wanting to do them, but there's no denying that it's efficient.

IMO, every roulette should award some for the first one each day even if it's just 50.

I cap multiple alts... hunts are so win win for me at least. 120 allegory, 240 phanta, 360 poetics, 480 nuts and materia clusters. Nuts allow the purchase of minions, a mount, music scroll and materia. I'd struggle trying to cap them without hunt trains. 12/12 Shb trains are amazing to me. Join a hunt discord... I belong to 3, Aether Hunts, Crystal Hunts and Spriggin Hunts and they all ping when they are about to start.

Like? A single hunt train gives a lot of tomestones (and other stuff as well). Roulettes alone can almost cap the weekly 450 in a single day. Wondorous Tails also give tomes every week. Do we actually need more?

Put them on an NPC vendor. For gil.
I mean, I'd be very willing to pay 10,000 gil per single allegory tome - 450,000 a week - just so I don't have to run Anyder for the 50th time. Maybe even more than that.

I mean, I can't see SE ever doing it, unless they decide that there's WAY too much gil floating around, and they need a money sink more desperately than they need content to be run.
But it's pretty much the only avenue I can think of to award tomestones that they haven't already done.

You either meant 1k gil per tome, or you meant 4.5m a week.

And maybe the latter would be no problem to some people, but honestly I'd rather just buy some 480 gear and meld it up and call it a freakin day

Hunt's are so incredibly efficient that I'm surprised anyone caps them any other way (unless you do enjoy dungeons or want comms). I mean, no 20-30 min dungeon gives you 120 allegory, 240 phanta, 360 poetics, 480 nuts and 6 each of grade VII and VIII for one run. If you find them particularly laggy and the mark won't load, bring any class with a heal and cast a heal on any party member who has a tag on the hunt. Or use a non-targeting aoe.

The whole thing with roulettes specifically is they are a catch-all that directs players to instanced content within the game.

It is not unreasonable to say the majority of the content in the game is instanced, and the range of those experience is huge. How you cap out one week can look absolutely nothing like how you capped out the previous week. Me? I cap out almost all in PvP, with two different modes having fast queues in prime time. Someone else might just do their expert roulette. Another person might raid. Maybe someone just does half of the roulettes available every other day of the week. We are all getting capped out.

When they add stuff, most of it will be instanced, and almost all of it will be in roulettes. Your tomestone generators are right here.

Maybe you could get tomestones from say, Emanation normal. Oh wait no, that's nowhere near your reach. My bad.

You can literally cap any tomestones in an hour or so at any given time of the day. We really do not need more sources.

I'd rather discourage literally buying your way to caps so I'm more along the lines of 10 mil per tome
