Please increase inventory space and retainer/saddlebag inventory space

Have 10 retainers and still overloaded, mostly because of raw mats xD.

Can we please have more inventory space?

Personal Inventory Space > 140 to 200

Retainer Inventory Space > 175 to 250

Saddle Bag increased from 1 to 2 by default. 2 to 5 slots for the ones who sub to the Companion App.

Wardrobe Space > 400 to 800.

Im in for it for more space

But regard your mats.. i have only timed nodes mats and rare mats.
Regular mats like iron ore.. pfff.. farm it or buy it. No need to hold it. :o

Or maybe just increase the cap on the number of retainers people can hire again if that's a bit more technically feasible and let hoarders pay as much as they want to pay. The amount of people with 10 full retainers might be too low for them to even consider that though.

I think maybe you have an inventory management problem.

Inventory management is the real final end-game content for FFXIV-- didn't you get the memo?

Unfortunately this is a change quite a number of the community are firmly against. You'll just get flamed for poor inventory management, while they release another few hundred crafting mats for your 2 overworked retainers to hold.

We just need a crafting bag. Having crafting mats take up actual storage space in a game that has the amount of materials this game has and continues to add on top of all the gear, glam, food, bait, etc is just ludicrous

i lost track how i got them, but i do have 10 retainers myself. and indeed its not enough for everything. I have to rope retainers from 2 alts in to store everything

As of Patch 5.58, there are a total of 30794 items in the game. I guess the combined inventory space we get amounts to less than 25% of that number. Surely, having extra space is always welcome! (I've been hiring 9 retainers for a while)

Inventory management has ALWAYS been part of the game, and quite frankly, a sign of a more efficient crafter. I GUARANTEE those of you with 8 retainers are still hoarding things you haven't used since you were a lvl 30 crafter.

I'm not sure they currently could increase inventory size even if they wanted to. They made it clear with the armory exactly where every slot that was used for Belts is going for Endwalker and that they were even holding on to a few slots for some point in the future.

The argument "that's how it's always been, so get over it" will never fly with me.
We need better help from developers in the system. Like, if I'm gathering Item A with one slot left in my inventory, and I successfully gather Item A (1), that shouldn't count my inventory as "full/cannot gather additional Item A". This is a basic algorithm that someone's just been too lazy to put in.

Unless this is a strategy similar to Bro-Blizzard (keep things slightly inconvenient and people will keep paying...I mean, *playing). Heck, at least WoW doesn't have a cap on transmog storage :/

Yes, but, to be fair, WoW does it completely differently. Every player has a complete list of all gear when they open their transmog collection; the items are only either collected or not collected. Thus, an exponentially smaller set of data needs to be saved and/or transmitted.

Don't get me wrong, I'd never say 'no' to more inventory space, nor would I criticize someone for asking, but the data concerns always pop up when they talk about this stuff. The community response of, "get real it's only such-and-such kilobytes for this data," never takes into account how that data is stored or sent. And when you hear devs talk about bandwidth and storage, these folks are looking to shave off bits from what they have to store/send, never mind something that takes 100kb of space.

Very highly agree. I cant find the items to fill all the inventory space between 3 retainers, choco saddlebag and my inventory without just hoarding stuff.

The "1 space left and filled by gathering" is likely just something left over from when we could gather HQ items. That was the whole reason we have that I think. And I personally think they are doing an excellent job with inventory space related functions. If you are having issues with how much space you have, then stop keeping so many things. For one raw matz nodes aren't going anywhere, so gather what you NEED and sell the rest. When it comes to gear being used as glam, that's just another way of saying "I want to horde 400 pieces of gear to try and look good. To correct that issue, have one glam per class and use the "try on" function and its "save outfit" option to put a glam together instead of going and getting stuff you may not use or use much. For the chocobo saddlebags, yes plural; put odd items such as your totems, grand company actions, extra consumables you'd like to have access to, etc. in them (you can get a second saddle bag by upgrading your companion app to premium through mogstation. it's ridiculous to say "I need more space" when you have a maximum total of about 600 slots with just what the game has available to us by the time we get our 2 retainers and chocobo in-game. running out of space in this game is a sign of poor item/inventory management and the devs don't need to help any on that front. Now more glam dresser space would be nice but again, it comes down to poor inventory management.

They probably would not admit it though. That was my problem when I started crafting. I wanted to "stock raw matz so I wouldn't have to go collect them later" and ran out of space, quick.

I think there is plenty of space. How-ever... I would like some QOL Sorting of functions.

I would like to see:
- A crafting tab in your bag where you can move your materials.
- More stuff could be under key-items. Maybe like the bozja stuff or content similar like that.
- A space in your glamour dresser to put your dyes in. This way you (or choco) won't have to carry them. Using the glamour dresser automaticly enables you to use the dyes you've put in.
- A personal tab in your FC chest. Would like to dump my raiding stuff here like foods, mats and pots I only need weekly.
- Armoury chest needs a huge overhaul. I'm afraid to even open it.

Regular retainer service goes up to 7 nowadays. So that's 2 free + 7 retainer service + 1 premium app.

this is what i dont understand. Why are people against adding more space. We can purchase glamour items from the mog statation but you cannot put it in the armoire. You can put old arr af gear in it but you cannot put the dyable version in it. heck even the pvp gear you cannot put it in there. the only choices that you have are not to buy them or buy them and take up space in it.

Housing items such as things to remodel your interior and exterior you cant even place them in the house storage. you can either A) desynth B ) store it in a retainer or chocobo saddle

But how would SE fleece you if you had more inventory space? I don't understand.

If I am paying for 9 retainers I would like space to hold every single bloody item in the game thank you. Otherwise what am I paying for? I have a level 40 crafter and the amount of stupid crafting mats I need + gear items that I can't store in the armoire are already taking up 5 of my 9 retainer inventories. And no I am not going to take the advice of inventory management from other people saying I should get rid of all gatherable mats, I do not want to run all over god knows where to gather every single time I have to craft. That is a ridiculous waste of time. If they are going to have so many mats and make us pay for inventory space then I want enough inventory space to store every single one of those mats, gear, foods ect.

I'm kind of against more inventory space because I think that's a band-aid that creates the aesthetic of a solution while actually making the problem worse. Because more space is great until it fills up, and then you're back to the same problem.

At the core, the issue isn't that we don't have enough inventory space, it's that the game is bloated with unnecessary items that occupy that limited space. Without changing that, there is no reasonable boost to inventory size that will result in more than a momentary reprieve before our inventories are once again full. That's why the changes I want to see are akin to when high-quality gathered materials were removed from the game, which halved the amount of gatherable items in the game. We need big changes like that, and a core philosophy behind item design that makes each item genuinely worthy of one of our limited spaces.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but why is the quest items inventory so massive when I can't think of a time I had more then like 8 items in it.
