Please bring [DRK] Dark Arts visual identity back again.

Hope you're having a great week, if you clicked here then it means we're thinking on the same page or maybe not you're just curious. Either way, please Square Enix hear my plead... I'm well aware that Dark Arts stills exists within the game as a new mechanic of Dark Knights in Shadowbringers, but that really doesn't cut the deal. As of now it grant us a MP-Free usage of either Flood/Edge of Shadow, both skills that deal a great amount of potency and aside of that grants you Darkside, a 10% damage dealt bonus for a small period of time that can stack up to 1 minute, as opposed of when Dark Arts (Stormblood) used to ONLY buff the next skill's potency at a cost of your MP. I'm saying this because Both Edge/Flood of Shadow works really well in numbers and utility but they feel pretty boring (not so much for Flood of Shadow) visually, compared to the old usual Dark Arts spam in between combos in Heavensward/Stormblood. In comparison, things haven't changed that much - Stormblood: Dark Arts spam -> Shadowbringers: Edge/Flood of Shadow spam... that said, Dark Arts still shined through even when you weren't on that "burst window", it made you feel cool and edgy even when you weren't using your apex skills. The thing is that right now, Edge/Flood of Shadow doesn't bring that unique visual identity/feeling that Dark Arts used to, and it just feels awkward when I'm not on Delirium and Living Shadow because there isn't much to do other than Hard Slash -> Syphon Strike -> Soul Eater and maybe Bloodspiller for a whole 2 minutes almost until they're back up to use, you see when you're not on those 2 windows DRK just feels pretty bland. So here I come with my point, please give some thought on re-evaluating the overall style and visual identity of DRK out of the apex skills... maybe bring old Dark Arts back? This one is just a longing of mine that I would really like to see it back, but I'm dead serious on the whole visual thing so please give it some thought, it doesn't need to be worked right now on this expansion but maybe for the next one. I'll be replying this post until that day so thanks for your patience!!

I belive that dark arts shouln't have been removed from the game, the skill was fine, was cool looking and was fun to use, a bit spamy? meaby yeah but considering the flavorless edge/flood/darkside mechanic (only in name) we get this expansion dark arts should have been part of the job and add some flow on the darkside timer with some constant management and meaby recovering the old combo system with it instead of the auto-run mode we have now that adds nothing to the job more than visual you are doing something good when you are doing nothing at all.

so yeah i support the return of dark arts not only in animation but the skill himself to add complexity and sinergy to the job.

Delirium should be replaced with Dark Arts.

The delirium animation does not make sense at all for powerup.

Delirium animation did make way more sense when it was giving a resource... that said, I don't want to see Dark Arts' fantastic animation(and noise!) tarnished by putting it on the garbage that is currently DelIRium.

Give us back real Dark Arts and make Edge a lower damage spender for maintaining Darkside(or the other way around). Passenger looked so much better than Flood as well tbh.

Having a sub-menu with all the removed actions for animation / gposing purposes would be ace.

really some ppl forget that dark arts didn't always have that level of spam? yeah maybe SB can be a bit to much for some, but on HW the skill have a fair rate, in fact the rate of any skill in the game can be touched, and DRK need more active gameplay, current one it's just empty.

for no mention that dark arts use to lead to some of the most interestings parts of the job in the past, so much fun lost in the path of casualization.

Just have DA replace LD, and change DRK intosomething like FFT:WotL's iteration. That way, it's not like another revised version of PLD or WAR

DRK lost a good majority of its class identity with the changes brought forth by Shadowbringers.
Maintaining MP regen by intelligently timing use of Blood Weapon, Blood Price, and Carve-and-Spit was very satisfying.
Dark Arts was the most satisfying element by far. People might complain about the "spammy" nature of the ability, but the truth is you weren't meant to spam it.
You were meant to time its use as well, juggling between Dark Arts, Blackest Night, and your AoE enmity builder (Unleash, in this case).
And let's be real- the animation for Dark Arts was VERY cool. The sound effects, the animation of your character powering up...
The general change to tanking- that is, the removal of stance dancing, I approve of.
But DRK feels like it's completely lost its identity. It plays almost identically to WAR, but with even less options.

But to be realistic, it's possible to merge the old and the new together. Dark Side should be a toggle, like it was before, or just a passive that is always active- damage bonus at the cost of no MP Regen. Dark Arts should be an active ability, but should also be possible to gain for free after The Blackest Night is depleted, much like how it works now. So you can either use it with an MP cost, or get a freebie from good timing from your damage mitigation. Not sure about Edge/Flood, but they aren't particularly satisfying to use, both in terms of damage and in terms of visuals.

Would I prefer to go back to the previous iteration of Dark Knight, just with the addition of the raidwide buff and Esteem? Sure. But it's also difficult to rework an entire class after it's been rebalanced in this fashion.

I miss dark arts with dark passenger for the blind. That coupled with the parry defensive was a legit combo.

I like how they removed Dark Arts and just replaced it with Dark Arts but called them Edge/Flood of Darkness, then proceeded to gut every other aspect of DRK I liked, like the Dark Arts/Abyssal Drain loop for AoE.

Honestly, DRK has just had so much stripped away since its inception in HW that its hard to look at, we lost Shadowskin, Scourge, Powerslash, Blood Price, Dark Passenger, Dark Dance/Low Blow procs, the hastes and so forth, its very disheartening to see DRK in its current state, it doesn't feel or even play like DRK much anymore, more like diet warrior.
