FFXIV Crash with multiple errors

hello all,

before the patch 5.25 i had no issue with playing the game. now that the update is taking place im getting multiple errors when i play for about 20 mins. the game crashes and gives me the following error.

Yeah, I have the exact same error. (Besides the numbers after the plus, these change after every crash) A lot of people seem to have this problem after the recent patch. I hope they'll fix it soon.

Yup I get it randomly when I open my retainers. No idea why and it doesn't happen often but annoying when it does and never used to be an issue.

This seems to be a PC issue. I have the game on PS4 and no issue. Hope they fix this soon

Stitch177, what have you tried so far to alleviate the issue? Additionally, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

i have tried lowering my FPS, doing just window version vs full screen.. i did not have this issue before the patch rolled out. as you can tell i am not the only one with this issue.

I'd recommend trying the following if you have not already:

1) Update your Windows Operating System using Windows Update. Make sure to install any optional updates as these aren't installed automatically.

2) Disable any overlays (Geforce Experience, Discord overlay, etc.) that may be present while playing the game. Also make sure to close any other programs that are running alongside the game while playing.

3) Make sure that any anti-virus software you have has the appropriate exceptions for the game's install folder.

4) Perform a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

5) Reinstall the game. When you do, make sure to remove the locally-saved data folder (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Be sure to make a backup of this just in case it doesn't resolve the issue.

Done all this.. Still crashes. To me, it seems you think it's our PC not the game but we have multiple people with different rigs having same issue... before the patch it was work 100% great, now patch comes out and it's our PC.... I paid for for this game subscription and can't play on PC because of the patch.

nothing overheats i have not overclock my CPU or GPU... its all at default... and i have 4 (2 intake, 2 outtake) fans with multiple opening in my case for air flow. and again i dont think all of the rigs that have the same issue is over heating.


we all know the patch messed up the game for PC users just waiting for you guys to say it... its already all over the forms with same issue and everyone saying it was working before the patch.

We would like to recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

1) Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card
2) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.
3) Remove any unnecessary USB or audio devices (controllers, headphones, flash drives etc.)
