If anything(and this is a big if), we MIGHT get word on companies or maybe the upcoming 1.16a(?) mentioned in the latest letter from Yoshi and his crew.

I highly doubt that we'd be getting an actual patch, as he pretty much made it clear that they were working on them for late March, but they were delayed by one to two weeks. Who can say though?

I'm personally cool with just getting info myself.

I'll be happy with any information regarding the release date for a patch. more interested in getting back to ranking up my PUG. hope everything works out fine in the long run.

In several interviews with community sites, he mentioned that the "big patch"(which I will call the "battle patch" until more info is provided), will be 2 patches worth of size, but won't be released for 2 months. This was said back at the beginning of March/late February I believe. Until then, "mid-sized" patches like we've seen thus far will probably be the norm, with more quests/UI improvements/whatever else is to be added and the like.

Not trying to be a downer, just don't want everyone to get their hopes up to then lose their shit when expectations aren't met. I'm secretly hoping the same thing you are. :)

This is incorrect. He said it was updates to the battle and class system that spans throughout two months. That's what he meant by two months worth of battle patches. He literally meant they would be released a little at a time for two months. Learn to read.

It's possible, depending on what's in 1.16a (do they need the translators back), in how quick succession were they supposed to release 1.17 after it, and how much they are lagging behind the schedule.

If 1.16a is the mid-month small update (similar to 1.15b) then I assume it's ETA was last week, or the beginning of this week. I can see it being implemented soon after 25th, and most likely before April.

In case you haven't noticed, Japan doesn't have a power grid. I don't think SE was planning for a huge natural disaster to destroy a chunk of it's country and kill it's loved ones.

Yes, don't expect an update for this weekend. If i remember well, it has been stated that the updates would be released one or two weeks later than expected because; somehow, an earthquake followed by a tsunami, which caused a nuclear plant to nearly meltdown, affected the small country that Japan is.

like no one recalls how bad the server stability was in beta preveting alot of beta time being cancled. Or the devs saying they had 1 too many bugs to deal with unlike ffxi so alot of stuff got taken out what was going to be put in game. The new dev team is fixing what was too buged to be put in. While fixing stuff that was ill resoived.

yet ppl don't believe that eveb though there was proof of it.

If someone goes "is this game good yet" people say "Try it out you might like it" "depends what you like" "it kind of us, some parts are fun" but truth is its not good and he'd be the only one to go "no its rubbish, come back later"

It's not going to happen, so get ready to cry in your pillow come Friday. I knew this was going to happen as soon as they said that the servers were coming back up. Anyway they may decide to merge patches 1.16a and 1.17 (or 1.18 if they need more time) together and that will be patch 1.17.

Ummm "it kind of is, some parts are fun" is a valid answer. That's what I would tell someone looking to try this game. Most people know the game needs work, but its not as near as bad as some people claim it to be. If the game was really really bad, then no one would be playing it nor would we have such high traffic on these boards.
