I will give you a FEMROE hug since we are on the same world.
For something that gives stuff that's only marginally better then crafted gear, it's a rather rough.
I do think it's neat that the "normal" mode was a solo duty and did show off most of the major mechanics that are retained in extreme, albeit without the AoE indicators.
Clear for friend.
Ahahah, indeed in the middle of the afternoon i was already seeing "must know what to do, dont make me waste my time, one fail = kick" groups. Not all of them fortunatly, but it is so ironic to see people complaining of how the new content is consumed so fast, while rushing it so quickly that players who download the patch in the evening after their irl job seems inexcusable to be so late to the party. And i am not even talking of the numerous achievements that were poping in my chatbox right after the servers did go live again, there is no way their owners did read or watch anything instead of pressing skip, skip, skip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbJ51AJuR7E
Still isn't as bad as the blue mage guides who were out on the internet long before the job was released though XD
Heck I was seeing them 3 hours after the patch went live...
Meanwhile I'm over here at ilvl 469 debating setting up a Hell's Kier learning party xD #filthycasuallife
*Edit: But on the plus side, I watched a video for it and it does seem fairly straightforward at least. Should be an easy learn.
open party finder touch "recruit members", writes "blind run, practice from the begining" and there you go.
On my server there's like 10 parties labeled some variation of fresh prog right now. In fact, a minority of parties actually have a listed progpoint....
It doesn't matter. If there's even a couple parties which do not meet OP's requirements of being fresh, blind prog and welcoming to all skill levels, then clearly the entire community is evil and elitist and it's best to give up. It's the only option.
Not surprised you don't with this attitude tbh.
I would recommend almost never joining groups with tags like this. Theyre trap parties typically, where they hope to get competent players to carry them through the content. They better savage players will typically just list their strats and be straight forward about it. The "Do it right, or insta kick" people are gonna usually be the people who suck most or cause the biggest issues.
Youre not losing anything by avoiding those parties. Just make your own pf and be honest, straight forward, and easy going about it. Worst case scenario: You have a bit of fun with other players trying to figure crap out and maybe make some friends.
I mean it very well could have been a joke description they're not original when it's day 1 content. Nobody can expect you to actually have seen a guide video.
But even if somehow it weren't a joke, why don't you just start a learning party instead? That's the joy of PF, you are able to recruit people at the same level of progression as you are.
On my server, there are several go-blind-groups even now at 0:33, but since I didn't get lucky to have my first kill today, I already am beginning to give up on this dyeable dancer-gear I wanted so much.
The clothes are practically glamour, when we look at tome- / savage-gear, and are locked behind such an annoying swapping of mechanics (a ka my brain can't memorize everything and once I do not all my teammates manage the same), that I feel I'm really wasting my time here when I should do different stuff.
Plus, I don't even know if the dancer-gear looks actually good in different colors--- the merchant gives coffers instead of gear. :v
OP you haven't seen anything XD
Was in farm group earlier where tank was like never seen this mechanic usually dead by now so I have no clue how to do my tank mechanic of pulling it to safe zone :p guess what he had to learn it :p
Been in 5 farm parties, 1 kill disband sad really XD
Plenty of blind runs pfs up or novel idea make your own day 1 and all people don't care so long as you are upfront about things.
When I find parties like that.. I just make my own and it works out?
I cleared hours ago with a party I started that was completely fresh, we worked out mechanics and ended up clearing.
I'm sure there are like-minded people that are just as fresh!
Make your own PF, nobody is stopping you from forming your own group and setting the parameters yourself
Plus the DPS check is like 3 minutes in to the fight...
I cleared it with my second group. It isn't that bad. Some of the PF for farming though get me confused. Ilvl 485-490 requirements, threats of booting people if they die. It's an easy ex-trial! Why do people need full savage gear in order to get into a damn party? It's just ridiculous.
I also keep seeing people say helicopter strat/clock positions for Fortius. The mechanic doesn't even require that much thought. Drop puddle at far end of your position, move in, then dance back and forth a couple of times to avoid. It's not rocket science. I think groups make things more complicated than it needs to be sometimes.
2 of my favorite I found tonight.
Blind run - must have seen enrage
Blind run - know mechanics and PF strats
I just fear that because the gear is mostly just for glamour not many players will do this trial in a week or so anymore and you wait 2 hours for a PF party to fill.
I haven't tried it yet, and I feel like I have to do it before it's too late. I'd rather wait for a few good guides though.
honestly ever since moving DC
ive noticed its alot easier to getrelevantExtremes done just through DF even for practice to clear it only took two ques
Glancing at PF on my server now day 2, there are 14 groups. Just 1 is a blind run, 8 are farm, the rest require a guide and/or are late phase progress.
Oof, I can start a blind run myself, but it surprises me more how there aren't more fresh groups. Are players just that good or can't they be bothered?
You could watch video guides. There are already a few up on Youtube. No sense in going in blind and beating yourself up. Then try recruiting others for first time runs or find one. Usually lots of parties in the evening for me in Eastern time.
You are not supposed to notice that. These forums are full of people who claim that the VAST MAJORITY are unable or barely able to E8N, and Ex trials are ONLY for the most hardcore ;)
Seriously though, since the weapon took about an hour or two, and I know a lot of players who expected a full day of gameplay from this content patch yesterday, they all just did the new Ex a couple of times. As servers were shaky and thus Savage raiding is rarely done on tuesday, I imagine a lot of actual raiders just burned through the Ex as well.
So I think a huge number of players already got it on farm (given how guides were out within a few hours, it shows its not a hard fight), and since the rewards are outdated already, we will see some people farm it for a specific piece of glamour for a bit longer. And yes, the rest cant be bothered. Its outdated old rewards already.
Honestly, waiting for two hours the PF to be full only to see a ragequit after two or three wipes and go for a PF waiting again, we are several to feel the reward doesn't worth such patience (selflessness? obsession? not really sure :p XD).
One, who said anything about jokes?
Two, even if it was, your response was to imply I'm narrow minded and have a poor attitude in a way that does not imply that you are joking. As such, it's not rolling with the jokes, because yours can't be taken as such.
Pro tip- if you're going to be an (expletive), don't try and shrug after the fact and shift the blame.
Extra pro tip- let's say you are joking, ha ha, let's all chuckle, then you need to work on your writing skills to better communicate your intent.
Well I don't like any of the ShB AF sets so I really don't care about it. If they locked the weapon behind it I would either just contact one of the kill sellers that still do stuff like that for gil or just drop the game until the next expansion and do it unsynced.
Just to update, I did indeed grab one of the few blind Practice groups and had a blast, really friendly team. We had most of it figured out within a lockout though, I guess we're all just hungry to dig our teeth into something and the EX is all we really have, so anyone who care about endgame jumped in right away. Seems players actually are that good and it's fair if they want to farm once they have it figured out.
Fun fight overall.
Cheers :)
I think some people use “blind run” to mean fresh prog and others use it to mean “figuring out the mechanics as we go/not using vids or guides” the latter being how I understood it.
I know it can be intimidating but I really have to echo just make your own PF. I’ve been doing it despite not being much of a leader,- I just try to be honest in my description about where I expect the party to be at and what kind of attitude I’m wanting to work with. If you’re wanting a relaxed and positive party to prog with, say so. I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far!
If it dropped a dragon then yes it would be worth it. But since its only 480 gear then no. Many people will most likely clear it 3 or 4 times unless they want all jobs.
I've kind of given up on trying to clear extreme. Every group I've joined always have that one person who dies to the most simple mechanics and for some reason it's always a red or white mage dead in the first 30 seconds.
