After like 10 wipes in ghimlyt dark I had to give up and I'm stuck with a requeue penalty. I'm not sure I want to keep playing this game when my time runs out. All I wanted was to get through the damn MSQ.

What was happening that you guys wiped THAT many times in an off content dungeon?
How do you wipe in there 10x? Which boss was it?
Or.. you could improve?
Last boss. Healer usually died. Sometimes I died from being knocked into AoE. It's just a frustrating mess and all I want is to finish the MSQ and I can't even do that. Maybe I'm no good at these types of games and should quit.
This is why I main RDM now, the amount of times I’ve had to Rez healers and heal tanks in dungeons can get ridiculous
Don't give up! You're almost up to Shadowbringers!
Unless you have a rezzer or clemency, there's not a whole lot that you can do if your healer dies early. It sounds like your healer should maybe choose a DPS role to fulfill during group content instead of healing.
The first time I ran Ghimlyt Dark about a month or so ago, I didn't really have trouble. *Maybe* 1 wipe on the last boss. Also, if the wipes were usually because of your healer dying, you need to get a better healer. (Or if the healer is pulling aggro off the tank, get a better tank.)
If you wiped ten times in Ghimlyt Dark you're gonna need more than echo.
Sometimes you get bad groups.
While it's probably there for a good reason, I hate the idea of echo in general. When I fail a duty I want a rematch to prove party is capable of doing it after perhaps explaining/learning mechanics or just playing more concentrated. Echo throws it in your face that you've failed and buffs you without giving you the chance for an honest rematch (wipe coud have been stupid mistake as well).
Echo should never be granted after first wipe imo, maybe after thrid wipe or something.
Indeed. I even had to raise like half of the team in a Eden normal run once, and like 2x during that fight i was raising healers and some dps. Oh and no comms :/
The player base this expansion seems worst then ever before, at least in my experience.
As for OP, just keep at it, you just had a bad group is all.
the echo isn't needed dungeons are already too easy
Healers bad enough to wipe repeatedly on dungeon content are extraordinarily rare. I've been playing since ARR release, and I've only run into ONE healer so bad we couldn't finish the dungeon. (Was a WHM, used nothing but Cure 3 and Stone 2 on our Wanderer's Palace run. We couldn't get past the first boss.)
When things like this happen don't get frustrated. Just requeue and try again.
I have one good joke about this, too bad jokes are forbidden nowadays
If you can't beat ANY dungeon in the game — regardless of whether it's current content or not — then you don't deserve the rewards.
So hard disagree on the Echo buff, aka the welfare buff.
I completed it by forming a group from my free company. They were helpful and competent. I should do that more often. PUGs are sometimes awful.
Glad you got through it! And yes unfortunately there are times when the PUGs in this game are so awful it boggles the mind. Thankfully for the most part some-what decent players outnumber them, so I hope you only get good encounters going forward in the MSQ.
The Echo isn't going to help a party bad enough to wipe that many times in a dungeon. I'm not saying you're terrible. Just saying that not enough of you were performing adequately. You might have been doing okay but if the other three were not...well nothing you can do about that except try again with a different group.
Nah don't quit. Ending up with a really bad group is almost a rite of passage in mmorpgs. It happens to all of us at some point. And if you play for long enough it will definitely happen more than once. Most players tend to be pretty decent. It's exceptionally rare for more than two wipes to occur in any dungeon.
That you stayed for ten wipes doesn't say good things about the party, but it does say something good about your patience. Most players would have left after the second or third wipe. I certainly wouldn't have stuck around long enough to see more than four. Patience is a good trait to have for mmos as they tend to be grindy, and as you know you don't always end up with the ideal group. Patience can really take you a long way in this genre.
Playing with people you know is almost always better in every way. I'm glad you completed the instance. Enjoy the rest of the game :)
If there were ten wipes, I doubt the echo will help you much. An absolutely horrible dungeon run like that can only happen when the participants are working against each other; and by participants, I tend to be looking in the direction of the tank and healer.
