I strongly agree. I am at 380 and I'm at a loss.
I suppose it was not designed for people grinding them out, and more for a nice reward to the casual players.
Like its that hard to add some nice stuff every now and then, a recolored mount, TT cards, housing stuff....
Agreed. Every patch comes with a ton of new achievements and usually nothing to spend them on. I get not wanting to add tons of stuff with every new patch, but come on. At least give us something. A minion, an orchestrion roll, a piece of glamour gear... something.
I would also like to see a greater variety of items to purchase with achievement certificates.
They add more slowly as patches come out. Many people will have excess cause most of what is buyable is from the old system of veteran rewards. I have everything as well with like hundreds of tokens waiting for whatever they add. But to make it fair for people that have yet to get any of the items or did not subscribe to the game back when many of them were veteran rewards, they likely won't add too much at once.
I wish they would have done it like Guild Wars 2 instead, reach a certain point threshold and get a reward.
e.g. each 1000 points or 2000 points you get a part of an armor set or whatever else, at 5k a mount and so on. Would entice people do do achievements even to get more points right? Thats all you want to have as a MMO, binding your customer to the game...
Instead of giving us a currency for a shop that will never have enough items for it. And therefore doesn't create any motivation to go for more than needed.
Yeah, the balance of prices to items available is really off. They're essentially giveaways.
I'm also sitting on a hundred something certificates with all available prizes purchased. :(
Would be nice to see some new prizes every once in a while, even if it's something as simple as a TT card.
Having this currency and nothing to spend it on just feels extremely odd - if the prices were higher, maybe it'd feel less like this, but the way it is now I just have a bunch of weird coins I cannot spend. If not prizes maybe something Exchange them for some Other type of currency we can actually spend?
A very simple thing they could do is add some consumable items to the vendor, but make them untradeable so as not to upset the economy too much.
Rare dyes like black and white which are quite popular alone would probably burn away quite a bit of the excess. Another thing they could add could be mats that can normally only be acquired from gardening since those can be a pain to get, especially considering all the people who don't have a house to even have the opportunity to get them. They could also add vouchers for currencies like MGP, GC Seals, Poetics, etc
add an epic mount for 300 vouchers
Yes please. Even if it is just junk items like MGP vouchers or dyes, at least it'd feel less blah when he throws you another three achievement certs to add to your stash that will never be spent.
I presume part of the logic is that achievements are limited: if you get every achievement ever, then spend the points on dyes or whatever, then when they do introduce a new reward like the head ribbon thing - think that was the last addition? - then you can never get it. However, all cert purchases are like 1-3 certs each, so make the junk items be multiples of 10 or 50 or whatever, which means you normally still have 'change', as well as meaning the items won't be spammable as you need to get a decent few to get all normal items as well as hoard up for the junk rewards. Alternatively, considering that when new items are getting added to his list should coincide with a patch, just ensure that the new achievements added by the same patch (or even the next one) equal the certs needed for the new item. That way, even if someone has already gotten all possible achievements and spent all their certs, they can still do the new achievements to afford to new item.
400 certificates = mogstation mount
