I think Wondrous Tales needs an update for usability.

I asked my friends/fc mates if they used the Wondrous tales feature, and only one out of 9 of them said they do. I myself try to use it, but always forget to actually mark the stamps off. Not to mention I literally never go to Idyllshire anymore except to pick it up. I think this needs to have an update where either there are more locations to pick up/turn in or it's added as a UI only system. Not to mention, I am pretty sure the 3 line chance was greatly reduced with Shadowbringers, making it even more worthless to bother with.

At the very least, remove the mechanic where the book becomes useless, just have the stamps reset when the time runs out. Having to go turn it in, then pick up a new one is so stupid.

I stopped doing it. The rewards just aren't worth the hassle most of the time and when they are, its RNG whether or not you complete the lines to get them so its still a waste of my time in nearly all cases where the rewards tempt me to try.

I do WT on two characters, but sometimes I'll skip a week if the prizes aren't interesting enough or I'm just not feeling it.

Personally I think more players would be confused/angry if the book reset on its own than with the current system, which I find to be fine. I'm already in Idyllyshire at least once a week anyway for deliveries and poetic dumps, it's not like it's out of the way and there's already a 2 week grace period.

The only problem I have with the book is that because I run with my friends to do my daily roulettes I rarely get any Second Chance bonuses. It just means I need to do more activities though - I don't think it's intended for me to just spam resets soloing primals or doing EX dailies, that's just me being lazy.

The amount of chances and RNG of getting 3 lines doesn't make it any better.
I sadly have to agree there. I do it time to time and even then, 1-2 lines are just to unreliable. And if you are unlucky you'll get poetics or 10k gil. Which is a waste of time.

They added minions near the end of SB didn’t they?
I think we may see an update bear the end of ShB.

the prizes for 3 lines never changes anymore but it's also nearly impossible to get them. the 1 mil MGP is practically useless because it's too easy to amass MGP. 3 silver certificates are also useless because that's used for old gear which is not necessary anymore imo. the only prize worth getting is the 1 gold certificate and even then using to get ornate DoW/DoM gear is a waste because you just wait two weeks and you buy a tome piece that has better stats and is upgradeable later on. i have 1 gold certificate and am waiting for an ornate crafter body piece to become available for 5.x.

I simply found I wasn't really running enough content to fill anything out. But, I'm not exactly "endgame" with nothing else to do anyway. I've got things to progress, and spending time unsyncing old content for little to no great reward isn't worth the effort most of the time.

I just wish they would move the vendor to a more current place. Every other vendor has got an updated location in the current expansion, why not WT? It doesn't need an update, it needs a ShB version of it.

If I changed something, I would make it a component proper rather than a key item. You would still be able to choose when you complete one; lorewise, it would just be a big book, and you turn the page when you are done. The difference is now you don't have a key item for it and it's a UI component, and you can start a new one anywhere. Probably still need to visit Khloe to relay the story to her, though. Telling her over linkpearl just isn't very magical.

Another thing I'd like to see migrated from key item and be accessible anywhere is hunt bills. Figure you could just have them in your hunting log, since it loses its purpose almost immediately in your journey. It would make more sense if we can get the new marks anywhere and everywhere.

I dont think zhloe is old enough to move away from her sister and travel to an alternate dimention.

They need some new objectives to make me bother with it. I don't do dungeons or trials because there's no need to when i have all at 80 and all primal mounts... And dead duties in the list don't help either.

Add hunts, ocean fishing when it'll die, maybe even a successful mentor roulette, some more variety to pick from.

Remember Chocobo racing, Lord of Verminion, Rival Wings, maps for feast other than crystal tower and many other things they created and forgot it exists. Soon there will be plenty more stuff they will add, without thinking of how it can be improved and how to make it lasts longer.

I mainly just do it since it's really easy and if you can get the ornate armor that can sell for 10 mil gil. I mean the chances are low, but worth a shot.

I can see why someone would skip it, but filling it out takes like 10-30 mins and can be beneficial. The system is way outdated though and deserves a revamp, like the fact that 2nd chance points carry over, so if you used them all too bad.

I've literally NEVER done this, and I've been playing for...a while. I've picked up books 2 or 3 times, but never finished them before time runs out. So, I just quit bothering.

It could definitely use some tweaks to make it more relevant. Gil would be a neat reward to pick, given that a lot of the prizes no longer sell for a price that reflects their rarity.

A broader range of objectives would also be appreciated. Especially where PvP is concerned. Feast queues are simply not popping for me when I play, though at least I stand a better chance of getting a stamp if the target is Frontlines as that is guaranteed to pop at least once in the evening. Some weeks I just end up running Tam-Tara unsynced to get my stamps which...isn't the most thrilling thing to do, though it works out as efficient.

you don't need to afk in limsa 24/7, you can visit idyllshie once a week at least.

Didn't this have GATEs at some point? Either way, I'd like those included on there. Us casual trash can spin some of these experiences into a good tale or three.

I'll sometimes try and remember do it on the weeks when theres a 500 uncapped currency tied to completion (ill never turn down essentially free craft materials or seeds), but most of the rewards arent worth bothering.

Nothing on 3 lines really exists, which means at best you're getting 500 uncapped tomes, 30k mgp and a couple crafting materia / 100 uncapped tomes.

Thats worth doing a few unsynced ARR EX primals / old dungeons, but when completion and 1 line have junk prizes, its not.

I mean, a lot of weeks there are 9 entries that anyone at level 80 can trivially solo. Why wouldn't you?

Because trivial or not, they take time, and the rewards (of which the stuff you probably do want is behind layers of rng) are often not worth the time. If not for the rng of the lines, I'd agree with you.

i still do it for bonus tomestone, it's not much, but bonus still a bonus, it take like 20-30 mins to complete and it can be solo, so why not

It needs looking at. Everything seems to give materia nowadays. Extract materia, dungeons, hunts, BLU, Beast Tribes, Bicolor Gemstones. Same with Tomes. We just don't need more.

To be honest, they're probably just rewarding us too much lately. They turn to the minions/tomes/materia safety net too much when trying to make content enticing. Craft materia for example used to be a highly desirable item with WT being one of the rare sources, now it's cheap trash. We have hundreds of minions now too, they start to feel less interesting and more like a +1.
