Rested amount and Icon

Does anyone know what the flashing bed icon versus the solid bed icon means when you are in the inn room?

Also, does anyone know the max amount that can be rested. Just from thinking about it, it seems that the amount would have to be a percentage based on the class you are on.

100,000 exp is the max. One week to obtain it.

Oh ok! and does the bed icon not flashing mean that you've gained that amount?

I dont think that's accurate. I didn't have any rested exp when I logged off Tuesday night. When I logged back in Thursday night, I finished off two levels on my PGL after raking in about 75k exp and it still said I had enough rested to go into the next level. Very little of those levels was from leve bonus exp.

Yeah. 100,000 exp doesnt sound like a lot when at 44 I need 86.5k for one level. I guess Ill need to just PT through 44 and see whats left.

Assuming no other bonuses ie chain/link/food only 35k give or take of that 75k came from the rested bonus (if i understand how this all works)

Um yeah, thats a free lvl + some, so how is that not alot?
exp is fairly meaningless in ffxi and ffxiv these days with the ability to burn and all the free exp they are handing out. At this point we may as well just have skill trees so one war isnt exactly the same as 100 other wars out there

100000EXP bonus is not 100000EXP obtained. You'd have to add whatever EXP you obtained plus the percentage of that which you won as a bonus to get an accurate number.

Example: Tier II Company Scrolls give you a 50% bonus, up to 9000. That means that out of the next 27000 EXP you get (excluding other bonuses you may have on), 9000 of that was a bonus.

Its quite a bit for just logging out in the right place...

Just an update. When I logged on the Bed Icon was solid and after doing leves and such I came back to my room and the Icon was flashing again. I'm pretty sure that when its solid it just means you are fully Rested. Just in case anyone was wondering!

I assumed the flashing icon was a bug. So I always go out and come back in, then it's solid. Otherwise I'm afraid I won't get the bonus. Very annoying.

It stops after a few minutes. I think it just means you're not actually getting any rested bonus until it stops flashing.

I rested up a nearly a full week which before merge, lasted me roughly (39 to 43/half) 438755 EXP, 20% of that is 87k, so 100k/week to obtain sounds about right.

Icon I have no idea, I have noticed it though.
