all we've been getting recently is outfits just for female characters and enough is enough i say
there's plenty of outfits for males they could give us like emet's robe, zenos' new outfit, graha's robe, or even gaius' new armor but they just won't

There are about a dozen other things they would release before they released these fairly recent looks.
The problem here is female npcs tend to get more unique outfits than male npcs do.
People are still waiting for Hilda/Matoya (far less people wanting but I have heard some want her outfit) from HW, Lyse/Yotsuyu from SB, then you have Ryne/Y'shtola(this one actually being teased by Yoshi)/Gaia from ShB.
While males have what, nothing from HW, Shadowhunter/Emet from SB and Crystal Exarch from ShB. The whole thing is lopsided to female npcs and there has been 0 teasing on any of them by Yoshi (also like to point out he was shocked by how much people want WoL trailer stubble, I'm sitting here like really >_>).
I think last count had males up one from females anyway.
Edit: currently even at 9 apiece for gender specifics.
Most of the unique sets for male characters are usually worn by antagonists, which the development team won't add for some strange reason. Not that it stopped them making an exception for Edda's outfit.
I bought Thancred's Heavensward outfit back when that released, though I held off on buying Hien's outfit since it didn't come with his hair/stubble and the outfit itself has some major texture issues.
"Enough is Enough"
Ah so many times have i heard this, and yet nothing has been done.
Most of the male exclusive outfits usually look alot more unique compared to the female Exclusive items tbh.
We did get Matoya's hat, at least (as a lorebook bonus).
Hilda's hairstyle is unique but her outfit isn't - it's Lv50 dungeon gear for dragoons, plus the Lv51 crafting/gathering top. It's possible they don't want to release the hair without a costume, but it's odd that they haven't otherwise.
From the costume design presentation at Fan Feat last year, Yotsuyu sounds very unlikely to ever happen for players. I'm not sure what would be holding up Lyse though, since her dress is certainly built for combat.
(My own personal opinion is that I don't really want to see any of the major character outfits made widely available, from a lore perspective, but it's already too late for that. The more "everyday clothes" ones are fine, but things like Lyse's ceremonial dress or the Exarch's robes don't make sense to me as general player gear. Of course, getting Minfilia's dress of light probably means everything else is inevitable.)
I really think that shows why it's not coming. They weren't thinking of player accessibility, they just thought they'd do something cool for their unique character in the trailer - and don't have a way they can implement it for anyone else. They might not have done it at all if they'd realised the reaction.
They also gave us the Heavens' Ward robes.
If anything the difference could lie between outfits built for standard NPCs (eg. Edda) versus special character models (eg. Zenos). It certainly skews the amount of potential outfits even further.
And of course the amount of detail put into the characters is more the issue in the first place.
They go for what sells. As much as I'd love to see more stuff for the guys in the mogstation, I'd say the male audience is pickier when it comes to wardrobe.
You put Y'shtola's dress in the mogstation and within two hours the entire Limsa and Eulmore female population will be running around wearing that.
You put Emet's outfit in the mogstation and you'll see a couple here and there due to it being new, and that's about it.
That's pretty much the truth to almost all male outfits saving the summer themed ones and Snow's coat. Meanwhile I see female characters running around with all the mogstation stuff all the time.
Whether it's due to design effort on male vs female gear, that I don't know. But guessing from sells, I'd say SE might not put male characters at that much of a priority simply because more people are willing to buy whatever's there for girls as opposed to guys.
Honestly, just remove the gender lock from the items. I Mean if your paying real money for it on mog station, it should be unlocked for you on both genders. I mean really I get it for items you can earn in the game, but mogstations being genderlocked is some flat out bs.
That'll just make mog station items take even longer to release and a very small minority of males would even wear it.
If I'm honest. just based on what I seen on crystal and this isn't facts or anything but I mostly see joke roes and hroths wear female stuff (the bunny panties or 2b panties) with a frog head/fat chocobo head or the ever so common shirtless possibly gay (100% sure they are) male miqo'te.
I'm all for making stuff unsex but rather them not do it at the risk of taking longer to give us new outfits.
Heck the new glams(The MB ones) we been getting is all unsex and it sucks because nothing is ever feminine anymore because they're making it fit both genders.
Would be cool to get Sephiroth's outfit in the mogstation as well as Tifa's
It would be nice if SE remembers that male characters account almost half the population of XIV and stop adding more and more dresses and feminine gear sets.
They also hate metallic and chain armor designs (prolly due the limitation of the graphics engine or due to their blindfolds who knows).
I don't really like buying things from the Mog Station and I try to stay away from it but the sheer lack of male glamours baffles me.
tbh there are some female sets on Mog that I would like to have (or, rather, particular parts of them). Female Nezha set for the sake of dyeable non-job resticted shorts, for instance. And no, I'm not male gay (though to be fair I don't really make shirtless glamours either). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What is true though is that female sets won't be particularly popular among male characters, but having them as option still would be good.
It straight up doesn't look good. At all. If you have that opinion however, you are automatically a "bigot", apparently. Personally, I would rather have them spend their time modeling things for viera/hrothgar, rather than wasting time modeling dresses for men.
As for mogstation outfits, go for it. If someone wants to pay money for it then fine, separate team anyway.
It doesn't look good because it's designed with a certain body type in mind. It's not much different than how irl not everyone looks good with certain clothes, styles or colors, and yet, no one is stopping you from wearing it anyways.
Male Au ra, for example, look great in the wedding dress (because of their hips) whereas Hroths look ridiculous. The opposite can also be true, only Roes and Hroths look good using Gosetsu's outfit, because it's designed specifically for bulky characters.
Haven't they largely come in pairs, like the 'far eastern' outfits, or usually alternate?
No one is stopping anyone in real life, as long as the outfit physically fits on your body. However, pressuring a real life shoe company to produce their women's shoes in extremely large sizes so that they would fit the handful of men interested in buying them, would rightly be considered obnoxious. That's a waste of their resources. People forget that the devs actually have to spend time fitting the outfit on different races and genders. It isn't just flipping a switch.
