error code 17 crash upon reashing crystarium first time

Hello, I've been stuck on crashing for about 12 hours, and I've performed all of the methods suggested in the past, but there hasn't been any hope for me as of right now

Two Solutions I Found:
Change your DX to 9/11
Reinstall Game


Those are the only two options I've seen so far, but maybe support can find something else.

Still froze. That didn't help. even reinstalled with the firewall off, and it still froze.

Please help, anyone?

I have just started experiencing this yesterday around 11 AM EST, upon continuing in MSQ, and Now I cant load into the crystarium. It just shows the loading screen, and about 7 seconds later, it crashes with the error code 17.

I made a new character just to test if it's the loading screen crashing in general. its not. its just something in that area that crashes my game, preventing me from loading in the crystarium. If there were a way to move my char in game without loading in, that'd be sweet

Could you try doing a clean boot? Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

That was the first thing I did, as I listed the attempted methods. Is there anything else that can be done?

I sort of fixed the problem, you could say. I logged into my laptop, and loaded with the crystarium first time cutscene, with no crash errors, then logged back in on my main computer, and I still crash in the crystarium. Went back to my laptop and teleported to New gridinia, and went back to my computer and logged in with no crashes.

So in conclusion, something's wrong with loading in the crystarium area for me

It seems there is something specific on your PC that interferes with the game while you are entering the Crystarium. Unfortunately, it's a bit difficult to pinpoint where that is, so we can try multiple troubleshooting steps:

1) According to your System Report, your Graphics drivers are a bit out of date. Try a clean install of the most up to date versions.

2) Reinstall the game, even if you have tried this before. When you do, make sure to remove the locally-saved data folder (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Be sure to make a backup of this just in case it doesn't resolve the issue.

3) Do a clean boot of your PC (again, even if you have done this before). Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. Make sure that no other program is running when you play the game and that all overlays are disabled.

4) Make sure that your anti-virus has the appropriate exceptions for the game's install folder, as well as the locally-saved data folder.

5) Remove any overclocks that may be active on your PC's hardware.

Ok, I have now done all of this, and still nothing comes up, I still cant enter it.
I can still navigate to it if I keep logging back between pc and laptop, But I don't get how my drivers are out to date when the system says I'm fully up to date, and my laptop is a lesser version, choppy as hell, but can still run with 15 fps

Darkkrow, just to clarify, does the crash only happen with one character? Additionally does it only occur when you are attempting to access the Crystarium? Additoinally,is anything there over heating when the crash occurs?

Lowering the res still did nothing. Its a bug that affects the game, not visual issues. All we can do is hope for a patch to come through now, because others are now coming up with this error, but in different areas now.
