They should keep the Starlight Celebration Musical Mini-game permanently

I saw the Developer Blog about the new event coming on the 18th, and after completing the quests unlocks a music mini-game.

The mini-game looks simple, but has a hard mode, and it would be a shame if it only stayed for the event. It would be nice if they could maybe after the event is over add the mini-game to the Gold Saucer, and add more songs to play. Even give MGP based on how well you did.

Didn't they upgrade the performance action to use this system for practice?

Went back to check a Previous Blog, and it looks similar to the performance action, except any job could do this mini-game besides Bard and you are scored based on it.

It feels like the performance action was something they could have extended to actually be a rhythm game. So it would be neat to also have it as a rhythm game in the Gold Saucer and not just be something to practice music for Bard.

I'm betting that like many of the seasonal minigames that it will be unlocked for those who complete the event.

Considering that the mini-game is a re-run from last year and we didnt get it back then, I doubt it - while we did get some minigames unlocked, there are also quite a few seasonal-games that stay excatly that: seasonal.

But maybe they could turn this one into a Gold Saucer minigame at somepoint - and add more than just a christmas carol.

Essentially the same minigame was available in last year's starlight event, but I can't see it in my toy chest. Perhaps SE will notice the demand and add it this time around.

Oh, didn't know it was available last year. I started playing this year.

It would be fun if they add it to the Gold Saucer. Maybe even score you based on how well you did, and have a weekly scoreboard for the top scoring players.

After seeing the new Hold feature for Starlight de Chocobo, and the timing, I think with some fine tuning this would make an excellent Gold Saucer mini game. That I'd never stop playing. I'm not sure if it's latency/framerate, but I keep missing what I know I should have gotten a hit on. And I can play games like Project Diva on harder difficulties just fine.

I'd love to keep this, but mainly if there's some tweaks on inputs.

I keep failing at it and use command right when it ovelays like says to do. Thinking its bad lag that keep making me miss. Wish they quit having this type quests. I know all mine should been hits and they all missed. They need rethink events for those that have bad lag.

It seems to me like the minigame allows the input to be quite a bit early, but misses if it's even a little bit late. This is different from typical rhythm games where the window is symmetrical. Try hitting the notes early, unnatural as that may feel.

Even tried hitting them early and still says miss. Last time they had this same event never could pass it and had to buy items off Mogstation the next year. Know my ping 100+ and sometimes 200 thinking that's cause of all the problems. For those that can't complete it they should have like a fate or crafting quest to earn items need to trade in for event items. Remember one year crafted Christmas cookies to earn tokens for event items.

It'd be cool if they added it to the gold saucer, but I'd like a mode where you need to press the right arrow keys. SE could do this with a bunch of songs from the game. Would be nice.

I just tried the mini-game, it was so fun, and I agree that they should include a mode that added arrows/buttons on the notes.

I'm not really having issues missing in the game, mostly hitting early by surprise and missing once cause I didn't notice there were multiple blue notes on hard mode.

Could it possibly be a connection sync issue? It would be sad if so since it's rather fun.

Could someone please tell me how to solve the "A Chocobo Carol” with the notes and Saturnine Starlight Celebrant. I must be stupid. Not sure what to do or click and how to do any of it. Thanks for any help.

Blue notes you click once... Yellow you click multiple times... red you click and hold for a little bit

You actually even can replay the song from past year, when do mini-game as a repeatable quest - there are 2 songs to choose from, 2018 and 2019.

Have to agree with this. Add new songs once in a while and put it in the Gold Saucer.
