lol do yall rember when u played the sega the game would freeze then u played playstation the game would not load and freeze then xbox u get red ring and mail it back to fix it now where on pc and we get server errors, freezing, blue screens of death, maintenance patches, que's,etc lol we have come along way to be gamers give your selfs a pat on the backs

Yeah I'm sort of surprised they didn't plan for this better. It's what, almost 9 hours over the original transfer deadline they had? It's okay, these things tend to happen probably. But they should have anticipated it. Come version 2.0 they'll have to introduce a new means of downloading that client, and then moving all the current data to new servers. At the same time if they allow a transfer again they'll have to move characters between each world. Now I know this may come off as complaining but I'm beginning to think the whole team should be giving themselves a bit more leeway on when they expect things to be finished. Patches coming late, maintenance taking longer than planned, merges too.

Again I'm not trying to really complain here. They're using all available resources, doing what they can and beyond to get things out on time. Delays happen, and I do applaud them for pushing themselves as much as they have been. But so far they're really starting to make themselves look bad by planning this deadline and then going well over it. But since we're also on this same subject, I'm really hoping that it doesn't follow the usual effect after something of this scale. Everyone will try logging in and for the next few days to a week we'll have continual server queues and server overloads because they didn't anticipate it properly.

I "blow" during Sega Genesis ages.

When FFXI had something with servers took them over 12+hours so i see 2.0 taking about 18+hours not if FFXIV new servers going to be set up in other floor then the old servers going to be use for something else in that floor.

Pffft at this rate... I give it more like 5-7 days for 2.0 to fully launch. 17+ hours (it's past 7AM PDT now) to successfully merge servers?

SE I'm disappoint.
