Any chance for a Xenogears Crossover Event?

I know Square Enix did it for a Mobile Final Fantasy Title, so I hope they will do it again for FFXIV.

I would love to see us fight Id, Grahf, and Deus because it would be so dang epic!

They could make Deus into like some like unknown super weapon that came from one of the destroyed worlds that was meant to combat Ascians but now its purpose lost and malfunctioning and needs to eat the aether of all living things to maintain it's functions (callback to the actual game).

It would be like a Primal that needs Aether to survive.

there is no way they would do it for some ancient niche game square did not even bother to release worldwide.

Xenogears? Dont think atm,
Xenoblade?... maybe, chance are kinda small though.

I'd be all for it - it'd be pretty cool!

Oh man, Xenogears is the best rpg of all time for me, story is so much deeper than any Final Fantasy series. Too bad its funding for disc 2 was cut off and diverted to make that lame Final Fantasy 8.

It'd be nice. We could get the XG mount from WoFF. Saga and Blade are owned by Monolith Soft so I really doubt we'll get that. Although FFXIV does need more snarky Welsh catgrils. Tataru is Fiona too.

That niche game is still in the top 20 JRPG sales for Japan and the US, 20 years later. Just because it didn't get widespread coverage/was overshadowed by a certain Final Fantasy release, doesn't mean it doesn't have a strong following.

Plus, it would be an awesome crossover between Square/Monolith/Bandai.

I doubt it, though Xenogears is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. It would #1 if it wasn't for the rushed cutscene exposition at the end due to time and resource constraints placed on the game.

I'd rather just see more from the Xenogears style of tech, camera-work, and map color tones, delivered in XIV's own way, rather than yet another crossover.

If I remember right that was a very popular game and I still have it for my ps1. I would love to see a crossover event one day for it. Same for a Star Ocean crossover.

Yeah I was going to say,

Xenogears is wayyy bigger than that. At the time it came out, yeah it may have been niche... but not anymore.

Its one of the deepest and most interesting Squaresoft games to come out, not to mention a really cool and innovative combat system including mech style combats.

Though admittedly it would be hard to squeeze the lore into FFXIV.

did a quick google search and xenogears sold 1,3 million, squares most sold games list number 41 sold 3.1 million, it will only make to any list if you use the combined sales from the more popular xenoblade games.

Eh, not so much! Many of the locations are already very much alike for both games. Galarians/Solarians have a lot of similarities. A couple of the Bahamut coils could work for the lower Solaris districts.. Ul'dah/Aveh, Sea of Clouds could be an expanded Shevat.. We already have those blasted tower climbs that make us want to throw things in the Saucer. If they made one as big as Babel? Cruise Chaser and some of the other mechs already look like some of the Gears. SQEX could easily toss in a Weltall/Heimdal and it wouldn't look out of place. (Our Xeno discord mayyyy have discussed this thoroughly...)

Nah. The Xenoblade IP is owned by Nintendo. Monolith Soft is a first party developer for them. They got bought in 2007.

Chances are slim unless they do an HD remake in XIVs lifetime.

ehhh, no please. Nothing against Xenogears, but Eorzia is a high magic low technology world. The ffxv crossover is horribly theme breaking as it is. No more high tech stuff that clashes with this game.

You mean the game that very nearly became Final Fantasy VII?

Never had the chance to play it, but one series i loved aside Chrono Trigger was Soul Blazer and the later which went to Super NES named Teranigma
