I, too, will miss traveling to a zone where everyone wants to turn me into foliage, drown me, or otherwise keep me bound to them forever.
Each quest gives 1~2m EXP, so you have reasons to go back.
Oh yeah! Beast tribe quests are a thing that was added!
They offer good EXP if you need a source to level up alts.
There's plenty of reason to go back, even the stormblood beast tribes are worth going back to. Going on time spent to exp gained the order for higest xp is:
1. Pixie beast tribes (1-2mil exp depending on level 5-10min to do)
2. Any fates if you have a group
3. Stormblood Beast tribes (Just over 2.1mil at allied for both about 15-20mins depending on how far spread ruby sea ones are)
4. Solo xp boost fates with twist of fate buff
5. Solo normal fates with twist of fate buff
6. Solo xp boost fates
7. Solo normal fates
More allowances for other beast tribes. At least, for another week or so until I get my last two crafters over 50.
Everything is 80, so... nope!
I'd keep going back to get easy drops for materia trade ins and sell them on the mb. Barely any effort spent for some easy gil through materia selling.
I mean it's also an easy 15 Phantasmagoria each day for very little effort.
I wish one of the rewards was fairy wings
I'm literally max everything and there's still reason to visit. Daily hunts for nuts. Doing pixie tribe quests on max is 15 easy fanta tomes every day. Doing some fates to get gems (though I prefer doing in the Tempest since you don't have to sync). Gathering. Pictures.
I only go there for screenshots. One of the best locales for them. Colorful, bright, even at night (especially) with filters.
It's very easy to feel like you run out of reasons to do things when content is treated like a checklist.
An infinitely long checklist is not a reasonable expectation though so I'm not sure how "not having a reason to go back" is a bad thing in that sense - it lets you work on your other to-do lists.
If you want to go back, then that should be reason enough to.
I do every quest daily so I can sell furniture to people who don't want to do the quests or haven't gotten to Shadowbringers.
More gil for moi.
I'm assuming that's some sort of stupid meme. Makes me glad I don't use the internet like that, because then I would risk sounding just as stupid.
Right up until you don't have reasons to go back. Then you're in the same inevitably sad boat.
Nothing that is going to keep you there for any length of time. All of those things puts you in that zone for a few minutes at most individually. Also, the argument for tomestones is silly if you're max everything. Tank / healer queues will max you out within a day, maybe two if you decide to slow roll it.
There doesn't need to be an infinitely long checklist, just something that makes being in the zone for more than five minutes worth it. I want to go back to every zone all the time and do things all day in them. There just isn't anything to do in them.
I wish they'd add more things to do at the beach. I've already built a sandcastle and gone swimming, so now I have no reason to ever go back. I don't understand why other people like beaches. I mean, I can just sit and read at home.
True story. Maybe you need to invent your own reason. Having some insane grind just to keep you in a zone just makes people upset, see atmas, eureka, diadem, etc...
Sure. I'll just invent my own reason rather than wishing they would do something about increasing the longevity of the zones.
Silly me for wanting them to take some of the beautifully created assets in their game and utilize them more.
But hey, at least I can go to the empty zones and twiddle my thumbs meaningfully and get a sense of satisfaction from my time spent there.
Nah, that wouldn't be fun. Maybe find some friends who like to do overworld stuff.
Anything meaningful will be zerged, see hunts. Everything else has an end objective, or you "only spend a few minutes there so what's the point"
Maybe look less at how much time you spend there and more at enjoying the time while you are there?
Increase the longevity by how much? Utilize them more in what way?
In my experience, whenever people want more longevity, it just turns into meaningless grinds. I think FFXIV has a good enough length for a grind as it is. Future MSQ may visit the zones again, and there are always hunts and gathering nodes.
You can make your own content, do some role play or have an event with your friends in the zone of your choosing.
I'm sure I'll be back in 6.0 when we have new jobs to level and I'm looking for the easy boost to 80. Especially if they don't add another deep dungeon.
Actually, it just occurred to me that we've had no word of any optional trials like the Warring Triad or the Four Lords for ShB. Huh.
FFXIV offers a certain deal to players. Part of that deal is: You dont have to revisit zones after you are done with your MSQ, except for stuff you dont really need. You can play the game as a multiplayer lobby game 98% of your gametime, not leaving whatever hub you decide to be at, ideally your FC house.
The core gameplay, which is relatively small, short and easy compared to more mature or serious MMORPGs, is a lobby game grinder. The side activities are what makes FFXIV be more than a lackluster gear treadmill, and they need you to go places.
You seem to expect FFXIV to change its nature to an actual MMORPG. Its not, and the supercasual playerbase wouldnt want it to be. Actual MMORPGs died out a while ago, being replaced by faux open worlds with lobby gameplay.
As someone who hates doing the same thing over and over for any length of time, I like FFXIV.
I enjoy all the side content, and sometimes I just like to ride around in zones looking for nice screenshots. If I wanna chill, I can chill. If I want to challenge myself, I can do that too.
Atm I have just been leveling my crafters, while breaking it up with an occasional hades, maybe spend some time in the gold saucer, do a little bit of front lines, work on my glamours, and I'm happy with it.
I quite like the new beast quests, and I think the little zone is pretty cool, so I'll probably pop by from time to time
You're complaining about not seeing anymore the only area of the expansion in which you had extra to do with beast tribes? Then waht about the rest?
I personally can't wait till I don't have to see a pixie ever again.

You can now go back and do some more quests to see what was changed, just out of curiosity. You may have to go through every quest.Quote:
Certain destinations for pixie beast tribe quest objectives have been changed.
All I see here is "I play constantly without stopping so I've maxed everything and run out of content".
Well, guess what? 99% of the player base hasn't, so there's plenty of reasons to go back. Exp from pixies. Hunts. Shared fates. Side quests that haven't been completed. Screen shots. Gathering.
