FFXIV at the game awards

It's that time of year where people vote for their favorite video games!

FFXIV is currently a nominee for the following awards:

• Community Support
  
• Ongoing Game
  
• Role-Playing Game

Just thought that was nice to see while scrolling through the nominees!

A shame it isn't nominated for best OST.

I don't care at all, i don't know why FFXIV is not nominate for Best OST, Best Multiplayer and GOTY, it deserves those, after all Shadowbringers has the highest game score of the year on Metacritic for PC and Ps4.

I guess Square isn't in the business of buying awards and reviews like other companies ^_^

This year's game awards? Is that the same one where Jump Force got nominated for best fighting game?

If it is, not interested.

Blows my mind how people voted Jump Force, a waste of space game to be a good fighter. People these days...

Game awards are ultra lame.
Ever since that unoptimised mess of a asset flip called pubg i lost all respect to them completely.

It's all Hype these days. There's a massive disconnect between the industry and the consumer in terms of what gamers want from there games..

industry is like oh this is amazing definite game of the year material its everything gamers expect from a game...

game flops.. industry doesnt understand why!!! and thats another popular frnachise killed off..

Vapid industry spectacle will always be what it is. Common sense and taste will always dissuade the minority but unfortunately the majority would forget to breathe if it wasn't automatic.

The Game Awards is fun to watch for me but really only for new game announcements/Smash character, the awards are the joke part.
At least these are better then the Golden Joysticks. XIV and Iceborne BOTH lost Best Expac award to a casino update!!!

Listen,this is the same awards show that has Jump Force in the running for Best Fighting Game of the Year. Take whatever you see with a grain of salt.

Best we can do is vote and see how it goes.

I would vote for community. The people I have met online are fantastic. I’m not sure why people are nicer here than other MMOs, is it because of how stern the GMs are?

How is FFXIV not nominated for best narrative and music score though? Criminal.

Yeah, I was gonna post this. But I didn't know exactly what they meant, like community's support for the game, or their actual community support? ... because they have none.

Outer Worlds or any other game that has been released near the end of the year should not be nominee's for "Game of the Year". Outer Worlds was released October 25th. The game awards are December 12th. That's like 1 month and 2 weeks, really people. But eh.

Outer Worlds is overhyped, Decent game, but not game of the year material anyway, in my opinion.

Straight from the award site: Community support - RECOGNIZING A GAME FOR OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SUPPORT, TRANSPARENCY AND RESPONSIVENESS. Bottom line. They listen to their community. Compared to the vast majority of games/companies they do indeed deserve an award.

They listen. This does not translate to they can provide everything the community desires in a timely fashion. The do need to continually pump out new content. I am sure if/when they have time you will see the above.

I don't think we can even pretend anymore that this show isn't basically Kojimafest at this point.

(Not undeserved to some extent of course, given what he went through, but... seriously, if they're so determined to give Death Stranding an award they can just give it a special The Death Stranding Award, it doesn't have to be nominated for every category)

It's why I use words like "heck", or "butt", etc. on these forums. You actually have to keep it PG or you meet the hammer with no further context. Another reason why them being in the running for "community support" is laughable.

The only thing I thought was funny is seeing the rabbit above saying that I probably haven't been in many forums, when in the vast majority you won't be kicked out for putting a bad word. But well, we live in a society and all that.

Oh, and i got a ban already for that and im sure ill get another; its not like i care much to be honest.

Providing a forum without profanity is a reason why them nominated for a support award makes no sense to you? Think before you post.

You should think before you post. You seem to never do so, since whenever I see you it is in an antagonistic manner. They ban and mass delete randomly, and with no further context. While leaving up other "offenders" that do the exact same thing. Their moderation is not consistent, and they aren't "transparent" with moderation, nor with the community. Furthermore, they shouldn't qualify for any of the other awards either.

It's a travesty they weren't nominated for something they actually should qualify for "Best Soundtrack (Score/Music)".
