[Request] Please add an oral based job to FFXIV.

I've been playing Final Fantasy Tactics recently after the Return to Ivalice raids made me want to give it another go. It's been years since I first played it, but I've been having a lot of fun with the orator job:

I'm not sure it could be implemented as a full job but I think it'd work well as a limited job - maybe tied to special quests involving putting the Warrior of Light's oral skills to good use by swaying crowds and diffusing tension. It could also be a great way to help build firmer relationships between some of the major characters. I wouldn't mind helping Hien enhance his oral skills when engaging in talks with the Buduga, for instance.

It'd be very niche, I know, but with how often political themes are explored in the games narrative I don't think it'd be too out there to implement something like this.

Limited jobs suck, and I refuse to even start the quest for another one. :)

Thank you for your opinion on limited jobs. You can expect a new one this expansion. You don't have to start the quest. I bet 100 to 1 you do though.

I don't think the WoL would be very good at this. They mostly just keep their mouth shut and nod stoically.

I'll contend the spotted dick thread it is only some innuendo if you have no clue it is a name of a dessert in the UK(which is where i'm from) or your just as childishly dirty minded. Theodric can't help wording a request for that dessert differently when all he has known is the name of that dessert as spotted dick. If i were to put up a thread to ask for Faggots to be added to the game, yea i would get looks but it is harmless since i'm asking for a food and i have only ever known them as Faggots, basically cultural differences are a thing just because it seems dirty to you may not actual be dirty but just a simple request.

The other threads including this one yea full 'troll' mode (hesitate using troll since they are so harmless and easy to spot a mile away.

I really like having alternative ways to play XIV. Personally, I really enjoy solo / self-reliance in xiv (I know, MMO, go play single player, yada yada). The world of XIV is so expansive and beautifully crafted, I want to know more about it and actually play in the world. However, I often just fly past all of the well designed assets b/c I just focus on the main story. The sidequests just don't give enough xp for me to invest in them (though I do want to start tackling them for lore purposes).

Having a job where I feel I"m progressing and getting to enjoy the more intricate assets of the game is a wonderful idea. I fully support a really fun debate / quest / gamebuilding / worldbuilding limited job. Thanks for the suggestion :)

So..you want Songstress/Singer?

The only jobs I could see fitting extremely well in this "limited" job concept of they are the Beast Master and Puppeteer.

Not because I think a pet class shouldn't be a main class, but because SE already shunned them for being mainstream... Just see Summoner as an example. Pets for them are nothing but cosmetic visuals at this point.

if it was called that and Theo really wanted it yes, but that is hypothetical it is long established as being called spotted dick long before it was a reference to a body part, so in the UK as far as I saw, was a person wanting a pudding in game.

Yes! You have Spaz Voice/Hysteric Voice to deal damage with a % chance to deal increased damage, SIlent Voice as an interrupt, Critical Voice for increased crits obvs!, Persuade for Slows, and then Sing for party buffs! Make it into a healer! Theodric, how do you do it! Platinum SSSSSS!

Orator job.. You spend hours delivering depressing speeches to the monsters until they just hand over their loot, and then go off to die somewhere.

In case of typo, Im pretty sure was meant ORACLE JOB, but the game has already a kind of an oracle, its Astrologist and a Healer Job.

Oracles are nothing als but fortunetellibg visionaries/seers, just like Astrologist. They may eventually use not like themtarot cards, crystal balls and the powers from the sun, moon n stars to have visions of the future, an oracle has visions by birth, its a power they have from birth on intuitively, that they can't control when it happens and is also more intense to the point of loosing conciousness when it happens, feeling after it, like having slept bad/not long enough, being exhausted.
Astrologists are always under full control of their powers because they learned how to control their visions and their visions aren't intense like that of oracles - that being said, being an oracle is no job, like being an Astrologist, its just a term for anybody whos having visions and that in the most uncontrolable way possible.

No, it's a troll thread.

It's a serious suggestion. I genuinely desire something like the orator job to be added to the game. It just so happens that posts get more attention if there's a little creative marketing involved. ;)

I think Theo might be onto something here. Thematically, an orator/songstress would be the last piece of the "performance" triad.

Then i definetely prefer the FFX-2 Singer Job, but they are in fact the last piece of the performer triangle of DANCER, BARD (de facto the Musician) and SINGER to make it complete

Singer or Songstress was a sphere in FFX2 and could be a viable tank I think just not in the way people classically view tank jobs.
