So let's talk about Retainers...

This is just for fun but I was wondering if other people did fun cosplay/glams with their retainers.

It is, after all, the only free way to have fun with the character creator (beyond making actual new characters) and I've seen a few people do some very clever things with their outdoor retainers.

I'm at work, so I can't post pics but on my Main, my retainers are all NPCs from various story/job quests. Right now I have Magnai and Ghost Edda (farming for that Pilgrim set was super annoying :P). In the past I've had Silviarre (from brd quest), Waldeve (from HW BLM quest) and Sidurgu from the DRK quest.

On my alt, my retainers are characters from Aladdin. Mozenrath, (young) Jafar and Aladdin himself.

Just curious if anyone did anything fun or themed with their retainers. (Perhaps someday we'll get hairsyle access, hat toggle, and the ability to post our retainers inside our housing). Discuss!

I did nothing with mine. It's enough work just to level and gear the two I have, let alone try for some appearance no one will see (including myself.)

Mine are perpetually minding the BBQ in my front yard. I change up which one, periodically, and usually glam them in seasonal or event/holiday gear when I switch out my housing decorations.

I didn't follow any theme with the character creator but I think my Midlander might have been hinting at something when she brought back a retainer fantasia from her quick venture.

Yup, I have 3 retainers.
I tried to make 2 look like Estinien and G'raha Tia.
The 3rd retainer looks like Thancred and was purely made so that my large could have 3 husbandos on the front yard.

My retainers are...
...Haurchefant (main)
...G'raha Tia (main)
...Honoroit (as an adult, obviously) (alt)
...my main (alt)
...the Duskwight male representing Odin in the trial
...random characters I've created in character creation but don't want to actually play

Mine are all dressed as maids (headcanon wise, they are Enki's maids - one I even specifically created to resemble the hyur 'estate chambermaid' vendor furnishing we have in our FC house). ;)

They're very lazy though and spend most of their time just lying around drinking while they wait for their 'mistress' to summon them, yet Enki can't punish or fire them, as she is just far too kind a master for her own good.

I have most of my retainers made after NPCs in the world, some Roegadyn, some Hrothgar and some Highlanders. I have one that I made to look like Napoleon from Fate GO.

One is using my former elezen character; two are modeled after Yuna and Rikku and the last one is just a random female elezen who I thought didnt look to bad.

I usually dont really bother glamouring them, though - I would consider that, if we could place them inside our homes!

I have my retainers wearing old raid sets as trophy (from gordias to sigma)

My retainers are based after my last cat, my alt, and the last two are if my character was a miqote or a lala. The last two I glamour in the same "usual" glam I wear, my alt has his normal outfit, and my cat is a ninja (because she was super sneaky lol).

Mine are based on OCs that my husband and I came up with. He also has a few as his retainers. I love to glam them up in cute outfits too.

I still lvl mine so i keep changing their gear accordingly.

But that's not a bad idea at all tbh, its something ill try out for sure when all of them are maxed.

This. Exactly. I'm also very peculiar about my squad's glams even though they never leave the barracks.

I love my retainers so much.
My two main characters both have each other as retainers, and I also have Fray and Raha.

It's fun to try and divine meaning behind the things they bring back from exploration ventures. Like my au ra has brought back 5 Hingan housing items in the past two weeks and I'm just... I know you miss Othard but I'm not moving, buddy. I did use the chandelier though. Another brought me a coffin which was pretty grim. Li brought me flowers which I keep with me in my chocobo saddle.

Last night I emptied out my FC room though, I'm going to furnish it 100% with just a summoning bell and whatever my retainers bring back from ventures - it's going to be a mess.

Those are absolutely amazing...

I did once but it didn't seem woth it as I'm constantly replacing their gear as I get better pieces. Also since the inception of the glamour dresser I feel too bothered to ever remove gear from it to dress up retainers and npcs. It would be a nice later QOL if we could dress them up via the glamour dresser in the future then I might do it more often.

I'm not as kind, and have been known to fire underperforming retainers. I know it's rng, but this is a RP thread and as a retainer employer, I can't sustain my business by coddling the sorry tears of my employees. I'm south parks version of Mickey mouse up in there. "Go out there make and me some %#@$ money!

You can place a retainer outside on the lawn of a house if you own one. People including yourself would see it them.

All my retainers do is steal people's houses when they're offline.
