What is the mess of bull crap I've been told. You can still roll on a piece of 2B gear even tho you have it already?
Anyone caught doing this should be banned immediately. Letting this even be a thing is asinine. This better be patched real soon.

I don't see anything about people being able to roll on it even tho they have one already.
Or are you just here to defend this because you have it already?
I mean, I agree that people shouldn’t be able to NEED roll on the coffers if they already own the gear. But banning someone for it? Bit excessive, don’t you think?
I think it would be best to somehow tie the item to an achievement of sorts—and allow players to purchase multiple copies from the Calamity Salvager. I’ve read about some people wanting multiple sets of the gear so that they can dye them rare dyes, like Jet Black and Pure White.
If trolls are that big of a problem you could try setting up a premade group to run with.
Can't you set things in different glamour plates and dye them separately? Also, those dyes aren't even that expensive, apparently. Every time someone brings up how something is expensive, all the Big Deal Omnicrafters come out to say they have 30 billion gil and everything is actually really cheap, so who cares? "Wah I don't want to spend a fraction of my gil on dyes so I'm going to make the game less fun for other people"? Hello?
I’m not an omnicrafter and I don’t have 30 billion gil. So my suggestion would be preferable to having to redye the pieces every time I want to swap colors. Also, the Glamour Plates are limited to 15. I don’t think of them as being the best solution versus an ability to just have two separate sets stored in two retainers that you can use whenever without taking up a Glamour Plate slot. Plus, Plates don’t apply outside of city-states...another annoying restriction to work around with them.
how SE allowed this in the first place is beyond me, come on you have been running MMOs for a long time you have to know that most MMO players if allowed will screw over their fellow player in a heartbeat especially when it comes to loot like this
They probably developed it thinking people would have some decency and pass if they already have the item.
How many times have we proven them wrong, they need to face it some people are unpleasant of the highest order leaving us rather more upstanding fellows and ladies at the mercy of their whims of pettiness and vulgarity that a solution must be advised each time they concoct an single iota of an idea that could conceivably be abused by such individuals, /sips tea :P
Maybe, just maybe it's yoko taro idea, he like despair theme in his story writing
It's not as easy as you make it out to get 23 other people you trust to run the place so you can get the glam gear. I'm in a rather large and active FC and I couldn't even pull that off.
SE knew this could and would happen and didn't put safeguards in place to prevent it. That's the problem. Hell they could have put the coffer on a vendor and you could buy it with something like 4 of the coins.
This would be a nightmare lol. The dang thing takes at least an hour and then some.
To fairly go through with this plan, would take 8 hours if not more, depending on what goes down.
I ain't sitting around this here chair for no 8 hours over a costume I'm sorry lol.
The simple solution is to lock the people who already got it.
Nothing more or less. I can't tell you if this is an oversight or Yoko Taro is trolling us
and added this as some sinister plan to get us all irritated lol.
I'm not gonna tell y'all how many times I've won the damned thing, (STILL haven't won music yet, fml) I just roll need on everything that isn't blue unless the game says I can't. :/ Sooo.. Laziness, really.
I've run it multiple times since getting my coffer and haven't rolled on it again.
And it's only as cumbersome as you make it. Even if you just queue with a few friends that already have it you'll increase your chances.
I wouldn't mind running it with people that want the glam to give them better odds. I can't be the only person that feels that way.
Just because you want to spend the gil on them doesn’t mean everyone wants to. Some people are probably saving their gil on the off-chance they’re lucky enough to get a house. I know I sat on millions to afford both a personal and an FC. And I’m also “an average player”.
I personally don't see any reason to roll on it when you already have it. I personally don't use it seeing as I love the healer class set more from the raid than 2B's outfit. It shouldn't let you roll on it if you already possess it. Just makes it harder for the rest of the people to earn it.
That makes zero sense my dude.
Yeah, I could buy a full set of jet black ... but why would I dump 2mil in dyes on a glam plate? I'd never be able to justify changing that plate as it's got 2mil worth in dye on it that will just go down the drain if I touch it. And now what if I want a red version of the outfit? I gotta have 2 2B glam Plates ...
To put some perspective a small house can run you round 3mil. It makes no sense to dump 2mil on PLATE dye. If you're gonna go big you gotta use common sense and get your gil worth. Gotta have it dyed in the dresser. And if you want the 2 most expensive dyes for it then you gotta get 2 sets.
That's what I do atleast. I'm not rich, so if I like how a rare dye looks on a glam I dye it in the dresser. Try to only use reg dyes or cheaper rares for the plates.
The problem is the game isn't currently able to recognize if you have gear stored in places other than your character's Inventory/Armory Chest. Someone can put them into a glamour dresser, chocobo saddlebag, etc. and be free to roll again.
Is it frustrating when someone does this? Of course but it's a relative few players doing it and they still have to be able to win the roll against all the others who are also rolling. The drama will die out in a few weeks and the trolls will find something new to do.
Well, 2B is already jet black to begin with, so you only need one. I agree though, the limited plates, and the cost of dyes in general is the problem. Not even if you just use White/Black. Whatever is dyed in-plate can never be changed unless you want to waste the gil you paid to dye the plate, rather than the piece(s) of gear. I could see me having 2 sets in the future, for White variants.
I've seen this argument in a few different places and I just dont think it holds any water in the current situation. The people that are angry have 0 2B coffers and just want a fair chance of getting one (because the people w/o the 2B coffer are expecting those with the 2B coffer to pass). In order for someone to have 2+ 2B coffers, they are taking away the 2B coffer from another player (angery). Compare this to dungeon glams, and its technically the same issue but no one really complains bc dungeons take 15 minutes to run and alliance raids take 30-60 minutes, and the dungeon loot is tied to class/role so its less random.
"I wanna have 2+ sets for dye reasons" is valid in normal circumstances but the current circumstance is "i've ran this raid 10+ times and people with the armor are winning it while I still have 0". Once EVERYBODY has the coffer, this problem goes away. I predict Square will bump the coffer to 5 or 6 instead of 3.
You know how easy it would have been to fix this? Put an achievement in for when you looted the coffer. Then you set a condition where if you have the achievement, you can't loot on the coffer again. But we can't expect such a small indie company to come up with simple solutions like these on their own, they clearly need help /s
It's not hard. There are no excuses for what's going on right now. People are abusing the system.
Is someone upset they can't dress their barbie in skimpy clothes? Please, people like you immediately zip it when they get what they want and never touch the forums until something else trivial arouses their ire.
I've been playing since Heavensward and only have 100k. I also have 2 large houses, doesn't mean I'm rolling in millions either. Gil is spent, not often made back if one doesn't keep it up. Your view on currency is insanely flawed since you're only seeing it from how you utilize gil.
This makes me want to keep storing 2b coffers on a retainer and keep rolling on them, honestly.
Are those coffers sellable ?
I got one and opened it, but the outfit looked ridiculous on my male Hyur, so I destroyed it.
If they're not sellable, there's no reason for me to roll them. :)
