Are PvPs days numbered?

With all the changes, many of which seem to be viewed negatively by the PvP community in general and queue time increases that have gone up exponentially, do you personally think that PvP may become completely dead? A system that nobody uses anymore (even feast matches have become next to impossible to find). The changes made to the system sure seem to be aimed at ensuring this outcome, but is it intentional or perhaps by accident? Could SE not see what it was doing when they restricted all FL matches to 72 player only and the result of non-existant PvP prior to a certain time of day? Additonally, once people start noticing the queues are generally 30+ min, are they even going to sign up again in the future? Also, take into account the broken way they decided to remove premade groups... which can be easily circumvented by just making smaller parties. Zerg matches were people die almost instantly with no chance of being healed in time... the list goes on and on. I don't know personally, but it sure seems to me that these recent changes are going to seriously damage not only the pvp community, but also seriously curtail people from joining up in the first place. I hope I am wrong and I apologize to everyone for being so vocal on these issues, but I really enjoyed the pvp in this game and it's sad to see what has happened to it with the latest patch. I sure hope SE takes into account player feedback on this issue and decides that some changes are needed. :(

Welcome to 2.0 pvp. If you could get one match a day it was nice. Some nights it just wouldn't pop. That was during prime time.

Hm. Personally, I find the current iteration of pvp to be completely unappealing. I gritted my teeth through it to get the new gear, and now I'm back to not touching it again.

But I'm only one person. Are there those that find 5.0/5.1 pvp appealing? If so, maybe it will hang on. The population's never been that large.

If not, and the population falls under the critical mass needed to keep queues running at least some of the time... then, press F to pay respects, I suppose.

And if I may have a mini-tirade, I do wonder what the flip the pvp team is even thinking with the current design.

I'm sure pvp will be fine. On a personal level, the queues have been completely unaffected. Well, maybe not completely, -- been getting some 72 man in the middle of the day recently, and of course there's no longer that odd 24 man that happens from the spillover during peak times. Been a good change for me given that I never really liked the 24 man versions; the maps just became awkward with the smaller numbers.

Of all the millions of people who play this game, there will guaranteed be 72 people who want to do Frontlines at some point. Also, new rewards, new incentives.

It's fine. The business people know what they're doing.

My queue times haven't been affected negatively at all. In fact, some nights they're so fast I can't even get my beast tribe quests done before they pop.

Once Onsal comes out the queues will be popping like mad with everyone trying out the mode. If it's fun as Seize I expect it to be always going fine on nights when it is running.

The aoe changes are questionable as the FL skill set doesn't always work for Feast, and it really makes jobs feel almost too similar with everyone having the option to aoe, even when a job like MCH or BRD wouldn't use it in Feast instead working on burst.

Currently waiting for Onsal to come up so I can really get a flow for it in there, but working dummies and incorporating my PvE rotation has been making some sense albeit at me missiing some of the things I enjoyed in 5.0 pvp.

Note: for anyone saying their queues aren't affected, I should clarify, I was specifically talking about non-prime time players, because they do exist. 24 person was a very nice option for off-hours players and for people that don't live in NA, but use NA servers (not every region has it's own server or in the case of like New Zealand and Australia, they can play on Japanese servers but there is very little English language used on the JP servers.) A: Yes. They're a modulus 12 arrangement of 12 groups of numbered indices ranging in size from 28 to 31 elements.

Because there's literally no reason to play training, we've had months of it already and all 5.1 did was put it on life support by giving us new abilities to tryout, now that that's been done Vets would rather do customs because we don't learn anything from training and new people just get bored because unless they wanna collect every pvp wolf mark glam possible it's not worth it. When the seasons starts, there will still be plenty of games, but I know from the Feast discords I use most of us who don't raid (and even those that do since no ultimate or new savage wing) would much rather play Siege or League than queue a pointless game mode.

Whining babies: "Stopped pvp cuz no reason to now that garo is over"
Today: "PVP que, Impossible to gauge" Actual players defeated.
Only thing this did was make people considering un-subbing

FL has been popping just fine.

I don't think that PvP will ever be removed in its entirety, though I do question who the target audience is meant to be these days. I'm also baffled by how much PvP content has been removed over the years.
