2.0 deserves more attention

Version 2.0 deserves more attention imo.

A bit of hint from development team here and there for the community + some screen from progress would not hurt them. There are many people outside community that can not post to forums, so I ask for them as well. What is 2,0 current stat ? :confused:

There's much secret fog around 2.0 development. Comes to question what progress did they make. If they made any. Meekness wont take a place here. :p

Last I heard was that the client is ready, and they were moving on to porting the code from the old client/servers to the new client/servers.

To me, it really seems they are ahead then before mentioned on the progress of 2.0. I only say that because I expected patch 1.22 to take several months as the previous patches have, but it seems it will only take a month. I figured patch 1.23 was the last patch before the release of 2.0 but maybe sooner.

1.22 isnt gonna take as long because it doesnt have as many HUGE changes to the game itself in it(jobs)

昨日FFXIV開発/運営/関連部署を集めてプロジェクト全体会を実施しました。
We had a meeting with FFXI dev/management/other related departments regarding the entire project

今期の振り返りと、来期のプロジェクト目標確認、そしてマイルストーンすり合わせが主ですが、
既に基礎QAを開始している「新生FFXIVクライアント」の全体お披露目も、その中で行いました。
物凄い規模のプロジェクトですし、運営開発と新生開発を同時並行しているので、
こうしてお披露目しないと、なかなか現実感が出ないのです。
（約1年半でMMOのほぼ全てを作り直す、というのは開発でも中々現実に思えないのです＾＾；）
Looking through current, checking on the project goals and checking the mile stones status, and within that meeting we also exposed the 2.0 FFXIV client which already started the QA process. This is really a large scale project and running alongside with current version we have to actually look to feel the reality of this.
(Remaking a MMO in year & half is something the dev team also believes it's not realistic ^^

つまりは、そういう「現実」レベルまで新生クライアントは仕上がりつつあります。
それは、MAPを差し替えダンジョンを追加し、コンテンツのリニューアル移植をし、新規を盛り込み、
クエスト大量実装など、「量産工程」でどこまで物量を突っ込んで行くか、
というフェーズに入っていることを意味します。
So the 2.0 client is finished to a level where is reality.
For that swapping the maps for dungeons, transferring the contents and renewal, releasing lots of quest, how much to include using mass production. We're currently in that phase.

And after that it's just battle with time. To show to everyone it will require some more time. For myself I want to show the actual 2.0 FFXIV as a game and I apologize for dragging this but for now please fight against the 7th Umbral Era and wait for it.

要求されるPCスペックも下がりますし、PS3版もリリースします。
もっともっと、今まで以上に沢山のお客様にプレイして頂けるよう、
運営と同時に突っ走って行きますので、これからも叱咤激励お願いします。
Required spec will be lowered and we will also release the PS3 version.

There are so frequently updates from the Producer that I feel like it's getting plenty of attention.

At first glance of thread title, I thought maybe you meant from the media, though even there I hope that will come in time as well. E3, and then when 2.0 actually approaches.

Honestly, I would rather they stay quiet about it, spend more time developing it, and have a full blowout during E3. It won't have as big of an impact at E3 that SE might be expecting if we already know what to expect.

That's true. I think SE mentioned that 1.21 was the patch that got the game to where they want it to be for now. 1.22 just seems to add more content on top of some changes that aren't nearly as big as the changes in 1.21, 1.20, 1.19, and 1.18 were.

They're going to come out with a whole bunch of stuff this summer. ^^

Oh cool, an entitlement thread about 2.0.

Once E3 hits and patch 1.23 is out of the pipe, we'll probably be getting much more info on 2.0.

Leaking stuff is free advertising, and building that hype over time would do wonders for the immediate success of the release... so yes, i'd like to see more, but as a previous poster in this thread mentioned, doing an E3 blowout is good timing. Just as long as they keep the flow going after E3 as well instead of going silent again.

Well, Since Yoshi-P took the helm, We haven't really got a Silent treatment ( exclude the Earthquake they had :()
