Can we just have a random drawing in Gold Saucer for housing purchase rights?

I've finally stood around and come to understand the absolute hell people are being put through for housing. No one should have to stand around for 10+ hours fighting on a keyboard to get a plot. Just do something in the gold saucer like an event or something when housing becomes available once a week. At least that way no one has to torture themselves.

Sorry you have had to go through that during last batch 5 times of just constant clicking(ps4 user so i had to manually do it) and losing all of them, yet during this batch i did get one but i was incredibly lucky just came out of an instance and decided to try it, this system needs to be updated badly it is counter intuitive to their design philosophy of taking breaks from the game and the invisible timers are way too goddamn long on their randomness( up to 20 hrs sheesh) that is unhealthy for people to have to do nothing else if they want a chance at housing especially higher populated servers.

How about we don't use gambling to solve a fixable problem. Just give us a new housing ward, and increase the current number of plots again, and never stop until there are enough extra left over plots that are just sitting unused.

That would be the ideal solution to the system we have, but it has more to do with coding than anything. It simply doesn't allow for constant additions like this, so they can only add a ward or 2 every so often. Instanced housing would solve everything imo, but SE seems to like watching their own housing system crash and burn on a regular basis. And I agree with you that replacing RNG with RNG (and arguably worse odds) isn't going to solve anything. This game is in serious need of some hardware upgrades and has been for awhile now.

Oh I didn't last 10 minutes. This aint my first rodeo with this kind of thing. The amount of time and RNG in this is comparable to the FFXI NM Bot days when the economy was horrible. You literally spent hours camping some NM just to have your own ping kill you. The way they did this housing is no different. There's bound to be a lot of people botting this just because of how it works.

Unfortunately this was SE's answer to those who were selling housing plots. I guess they think it's harder to sell when a timer is started upon letting the property go, instead of someone being able to grab it immediately.

Wow, by far this is the worst idea i've seen to solve housing crisis yet. Wait, no the "cash shop housing plots" was worse, but this is right up there.

I've gotta be honest here, if housing was added to the cash shop. I'd probably buy it. Depending on the price. Especially in this game where it is pretty much impossible for someone like me to get a house - not like I have tried. I spend most of my money on MB dyes and the like, so I never have any money. :o

I also don't craft and gather, it's boring. I make money slowly.

I'mma go an say no. We don't need ESO like pricing in this game for cash shop houses or to put it in the GS. They just need to fix it. Not put it behind paywalls or RNG. Like what is this? Casino night zone?

It's already casino night zone. Except it's Casino night zone with everyone having to pull the lever and finding it stuck, with a note on it saying that it might get unstuck at some random time. Yeah the idea in the Gold Saucer is not the best, but at least it's honest and not forcing people who honestly want a shot at this into wasting a good portion of the their time on a frustrating placard clicking mini-game.

Yeah, no. ESO prices are a heck no from me. I would never pay 100 bucks or close to for a house in a game, nor 40 dollars for a mount.

This would be like putting a band-aid over a shotgun wound. While the housing in FFXIV leaves much to be desired, this is by no means a solution to it. Believe me, I get how painful it is getting a house, I waited over 15 hours at one plot in Shiro only for it to get sniped by someone when i went to use the bathroom. Thankfully i managed to grab another one just by random luck, and while obviously this sounds terrible OP's solution is by no means the answer to it.

I agree, but if they are going to expand housing wards, which naturally causes everyone to remember there is housing and thus cause the drama, they should at least be fair about how the new houses get sold out. The current system is just a bot paradise that favors some 'not-so-healthy' behavior from real players as well. The truth is they shouldn't be expanding housing wards at all, since it's drawing attention to the broken housing system and introducing people to how bad it really is for personal housing. The only two right answers to the situation is to walk away from the housing and just let it die, or do the gold saucer thing at the very minimum. Also, FYI I'm in favor of everyone getting the ability to buy a house in an instanced zone, but given a server is 750 dollars to 800 dollars a month and adding just one additional server per world would be a massive increase to upkeep, it isn't realistically going to happen.

I got a house for my own but smoll.

That is only temporary fix though, they need to actually listen to some of us and stop being so stubborn to insist on the "community feel" nonsense and add some instanced housing.
