[Request] Add lockout for relocation

Please kindly add a one-day lockout for people who have just relocated, if there isn't one.
- Just as a precaution against would-be griefers who might relocate around to reset lockout timers intentionally.

Can also add a lottery system and give people, say, 3 choices. Win or lose, at least we don't have to stare at the dumb placard for hours.

Admittedly, this would be a great idea. It wouldn't stop the Re-locators, but it could at least minimize the amount of griefing it causes. Legitimately why would people move plots 6 - 8 times a day, other than to be a pain?

Still don't agree with the Lottery, but that's personal beef with it. Props to the original idea, though!

Does someone really waste gil relocating for the purpose of griefing? People use the bad houses to jump to better houses or FC wards, but throwing away gil just to reset the timer seems like weird hobby.

There actually already is one, but it's only 5 minutes. For someone who wants to swap private/FC houses round anything longer could be a real disaster (I've done this myself and the 5 minute wait to relocate back to one of my orignial plots was longest 5 minutes of my life!)

Perhap instead it needs a maximum relocations per day, i.e. you can only relocate 3 times a day.

Unfortunately there isn't any way to switch plots around without using a 3rd empty plot temporarily. Without a switch function the addition of an increased relocation timer would be devastating to people who want to switch their plots around for whatever reason.
On top of that, imagine relocating your plot to a better location and one hour later there is an even better plot or maybe even bigger plot available, but you're locked out for 23 more hours.

Relocating your plot isn't cheap either, so I do find it hard to believe that people would mass relocate with the sole purpose of griefing.

Does this really happen? Are people actually spending over 18 mil a day just to bother people? :confused:

One thing I learned from work is that...
1. If it can be done, someone will do it.
2. Don't underestimate the stupidity of your clients.

And for FFXIV...
3. Don't underestimate how much gil people has...

On the internet...
4. If people can be asses and get away with it, they will do it.

so because a few people grief (and not cheaply each on of those bounces costs around 6mil) you want to lock other people out from potentially getting a better property I get the issue but the issue you are discussion is already against ToS and its classified as griefing report them and they will receive at least a 14 day ban.

We have an FC mate that does this, 6 mil is a drop in the bucket for some people. Worst thing about it unless they say something ingame GMs do not do anything about it. They have been reported a countless times.

People are odd.

IMO the lock out need to be taken out entirely. It made sense to have a lock out if people could still own multiply houses but that hasn't been he fact for a long time. We can only own one plot per server now. All that happens now with the lock out is that people camp for hours, days, I've even heard of people camping plots for a week trying at a chance to get a plot. IT should be first come first serve. if someone gets to an empty plot first they deserve to claim their prize. the lock out needs to be gone then "griefers" cant do do squat. If there is a lock out to be had it should be that when a person Buys a plot they are locked for a week in that plot unable to purchase a new one so that others can find their plots without any incident.
Please SE just get rid of the lock out to buy, let people get their plots, first come first serve then lock them in for a week before a new purchase that's the only lock out we need now. you made a good move making it so can only own one house per server though I have to ask, PLS also let those houses be usable by alts on the same server LOL

Except players can own up to 9 houses per world per service account (one personal, 8 FC). Then there are the players who also have multiple services accounts primarily so they can own more houses. You're fooling yourself if you think all players limiting themselves to a single house to stay within the spirit of the system.

We're also not talking about the purchase timer. The discussion is about adding a longer cooldown to plot relocation. There are a few players who constantly swap plots around to reset timers and hinder other players from buying. Personally I'd suggest a limit of 2 relocations in a 7 day period. Players should have to consider whether the plot they want to relocate to is the one they truly want to own but it would also allow them a second opportunity if they decided they made a mistake the first time. This would still leave room for those trying to swap their FC house plot with their personal house plot while hindering those solely out to abuse the system.

But if you want to go back to the days when the only way to obtain a house was to buy from a flipper at 10-20 times the listed plot price, by all means encourage SE to remove the timer.

You'll need 3 relocations if you want to switch houses around. You move one house to an empty plot temporarily, then you move your second house to the first plot, then you move the house in the temporary plot back to the second houses original plot.
I do wish however they added a switch option so you wouldn't need to do it like this.

Instead of putting a restriction or "lockout" on relocation, I rather see it being a reportable offence if people are relocating just to harass/mess with other players.

I was thinking in terms of per house, not per service account. That would allow the house swapping while hindering gross abuse of relocation.

It already is, though it's up to SE to decide if the relocation was being done to harass a group of players waiting to buy instead of other reasons.
