[Suggestion] an alternattive to the 2b coffer

So Finished the raid a few hours ago. loved it! except...

An outfit people have been asking (even making using similar looking pieces) for since HW
is Locked to a single coffer you have to fight 24 other people for...

I get the whole argument "It's so people keep playing the raid" but at the same time, that's also how you put people OFF from doing content. it's why most Blues haven't even finished their spell books. repetitive grinding for an item you have an extremely low chance of even earning is something that can quickly burn people out.

And the next raids will also no doubt have more glamour coffers (like weapons).

So a solution. the Tokens you usually get from completing a certain raid. maybe make the coffer available to purchase from a vendor inside the mine. 10-15 tokens seems fair.

As fun as the raid is, I don't think people want to play it all day every day.

That's a discussion about being annoyed at how the costume was implemented.

This is a suggestion on an alternate way of obtaining the coffer. still have to do the raid a few times. but makes it possible to obtain it.

My apologies. I sometimes forget that people seem to think they need a variety of threads that talk about an issue. Regardless, you're offering a suggestion on a system that has been in place since the crystal tower days. If people have been okay with fighting over a minion against 23 other people for about 7 years now, I'm sure they're okay fighting over 3 coffers unless there is some kind of justification for needing this particular outfit week one of the raid.

All I suggested was an alternative way to get an item, one that doesn't require luck and needless grind. people have hated the current system of luck based loot for years.
But I sometimes forget that people don't care about players burning themselves out trying to obtain an item where RNG dictates the winner and not effort.

Welcome to mmorpgs I guess. Be greatful that you can get a chance at it as much as you want until you actually get it? Not a chance once per week or something archiac as the old days of mmorpgs. There's always something 'more' people can find that can be done to 'improve' something. I mean, they could've just threw it in the Mog Station without giving us a chance at it all....pick your battles is all I can say.

I may be biased because I got the coffer already, but I don't think there's a problem with this system. Or at least it's too early to say for sure. It's only the first day, for all we know the coffers could drop to the floor in five weeks. Next week you probably won't be up against 23 people, but 3 coffers will still drop.

They won't do it. It's why they won't make TT cards individual drops again, to force people to run more in hopes they can outroll 23 or so people.

This sounds like something they could/should consider with 5.3 and the second NieR-raid the earliest, aka: when the content begins to die down a little.

Its not that I dont get that people want this outfit and have waited for it since HW - but isnt everyone going to run it at least once a week to get those weekly drops anyways? Yeah, you might not get it on day one, but you've got plenty of options to roll on it during runs you'd gone for anyways.

I like the token-exchange idea, but: remember that you get one token per week. So 15 tokens would be 15 weeks or almost 4 months aswell - still a good idea, but also on that can be implemented at a later time, for example once the weekly limit on the tokens is lifted.

If you don't like grinding for it, wait a few months, run it again and get it. It's no different than the minion drops or anything else. You'll get it eventually. If you want to "increase" your chances for it, then wait until more people already have it. If you want to get it faster, then grind for it. Everyone else has to make the same decision.

Also, complaining about not winning the coffer on literally the first day the content is out is a bit asinine. You might run it tomorrow and win it.

As it is now it's actually a really well designed system if you come at it with that big brain dev juice.
It's all designed to keep you coming back. And not even in some evil way.

24mens are loooong and tiring, if people were just given a guaranteed token to buy ilvl 460 gear of their choice there would be no incentive for most to repeat between the weeks. Repeat players come with more experience and faster clears, which also in-turn helps newer people throught context and following patterns seen in the group. So it's in their best interest to convince people to come back through out the week, tis why we get random gear drops.

As for 2B it's kinda really interesting. They have guaranteed that 3 will be given out at the end of the fight ... which, barring lots of people winning 2 or all 3, it would seem likely that the number of people who do these raids and already have 2B will increase week to week as they return for their gear drop. And AFAIK there's no reselling it or giving it away so if you did get 2B and you're back on your 2nd week for gear, you'd have zero reason to roll on it. You could legit have a raid where most people there already have it in 2 weeks and they're only there for the gear drops. You can also have people like myself who are ok with rerunning the raid after getting both Gear Top and 2B because it would help their friend out to to have a person on the team they know wont roll need on things because they simply can't.

The only issue with the coffers is the fact that someone who has won and opened it already, can then just continue to run the raid, and roll/win a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc etc as there is no 'cap' on how many coffers you can win as long as you don't have one in your inventory. So someone could win, open, put the outfit on a retainer. rerun the raid.. win another.. do the same.. etc. etc there is potential for griefing that square really should of anticipated. Do I expect it it to be rampant? not at all.. but we all know there are players out their that just really would do it to be.. well jerks.

At least the theory of it is sound. my boyfriend one a coffer on his first run. We ran 3 more runs afterwards and he was able to roll on a coffer on the following run (though he would then pass on his roll to not screw someone else over).

I heard about the outfit dropping from a chest and I raised my eyebrow. When I did the raid myself, I got surprised when I saw it dropped 3 chests. So, there are plenty of chances to get them, which will only increase overtime. I doubt that many people can be malicious enough to loot on a chest with glam gear they don't need anymore. While there may be cases, I doubt it will be a noticeable amount.
