I typically don’t like to do synced extreme trials. Unless it’s helping someone out. But in general I wouldn’t mind if it was an occasional option. Specifically toencourage the player base to help those that haven’t cleared one yet.
While I dont mind an incentive to do some of the old, "difficult" content synched again, it sounds like quite a hassle to implement that into Khloes book (which would now need to track wether or not you cleared the content synched or not - also: what happens if you clear some content synched, but unsych other content in the end?)
I think a different system (and if its only a second book from Khloe) would be much easier to work with - I could imagine something like Rowenas old weekly to run the original 3 EX-primals: Pick 3 of the difficult contents each week, make them the same for everyone aswell (to increase chances to actually find groups for that) and then go from there.
I always thought it was silly that we could do WT stuff unsynced to begin with.
I still would like this to be a thing!
This might be a bit much to incentivize it, but assuming there was a 'hard mode' version of her diaries, maybe allow upgrade materials for 460/Future iLvls to be in her loot pool? That would certainly make me go out and attempt things after all my other weeklies have been knocked out.
...Why? Just do it synced if you want to. People seem to find it so hard to do something if there isn't any kind of reward or incentive for doing it. What happened to just doing it because it's fun?
Well, I don't feel like many people find the fun in these sort of things. The incentive is just to push people to do it and hopefully find the fun on the way. I'm on the side of people who find it fun to attempt these things synced, but as I've said, people just like to go in, punch the boss a few times and leave. I don't think that will change, as it's quick and 'optimal', unless you do this sort of thing.
Ive tried to set up synced runs and was told by quite a few people that it's a waste of time as they get nothing from it. This just potentially erases that argument and gives the content a reason to exist after the few weeks its relevant and just never sees the light of day again.
I'm not one who needs incentive to do this content, but many DO need something to push them to do so. What I've suggested as incentive doesn't need to be the end all, that's it, that's what you get. It's just a point from which hopefully other ideas can emerge.
Path of least resistance.Quote:

Also if people just did stuff "because it's fun" they wouldn't have had to make things like roulettes (or the Wondrous Tails system) in the first place to try to incentivize people.
They could just require needing to do her book via DF roulettes.
There would need to be a restructuring of the roulette system though.
and people would just leave if they don't get the sticker they want.
But yeah, my thought is out there, I can see problems with my idea but maybe someone can develop further on it.
Even if they wanted to make this, I don't think they could put in anything good enough for a reward
Any interest in this what so ever? It would serve to bring back these fights from the grave. I really enjoy the challenge these things can bring. It's sort of needed when you run the same old easy dungeons and whatever. I've cleared current EX many times, just got done with Easy1S, but I would personally love to have the ability to do previous EXs/Raids I missed out on in the short time of relevancy and actually have others that'd want to do it too.
I’m always one for a challenge in my games, but making WT require synced EX (maybe Savage too) content would make it impossible for those outside a static, due to factors outside of a individuals control.
In a single player game, hard bosses are hard not because your party members are god awful and you can’t get past the first phase god forbid, but because they’re designed to be hard, if you catch my drift. Yes, EX and Savage content are designed to be hard, but unlike sinlge player games, can be much MUCH harder than they are supposed to be if your party members are lacking in some way, sure you could be in a great mood and know the whole fight from beginning to end, but what about your other party members? They could just want a carry for their WT, and not bother doing any research on the selected EX, and leave after the first wipe because they fcked up.
So in short, PF and the like is too bad to make this feasible for normal players, and since it’s WT it would attract bad players just in it for a carry cause “muh wondrous tails.”
Even if the current WT is easy and quick to do, it has been a long time i dont even bother with it anymore. 2 of the main reasons being :
- rewards are totally worthless ;
- the RNG is horrible and frustrating, less than 2% chances to get 3 lines, and 4% to get 2 of them.
Since i did get this 50 books achievement, i only take the book to look real quick at if there is a new minion after a game update, and throw it away if this isn't the case. And if there is one i throw it anyway too XD It is way quicker to buy the minions from the market board than hoping the book's RNG to be with you.
And thats with unsynched runs that takes one (two max) minutes unsynched. If you were to replace that with synched ex run who are very probable to fail multiple times after a whole hour trying to do them (because you know, most players you end up randomely with are not very bright when it comes to follow a strat, doing a decent dps/healing/tanking and avoiding unforgiving one shot mechanics), it would be such a struggle that i totally agree with this :
460 to 470 upgrades, who are already quick and easy to get if you are doing some hunting ? I dont even know if a 475 weapon as the bare minimum of rewards would be enough to tempt people XD
If you want to do some old synched content, i think you will be better launching a cwls and/or fellowhisp dedicated to that, to recruit players genuinely interested in this, instead of trying to bait the rewards driven community with shiny things.
To give an honest answer from someone whos been playing since 2.0 and did all the fights when they were still more or less relevant: No, I'm not really intrested in doing them all over again.
This might sound strange but I kinda like the feeling of "being done with something", at least at a certain point. I dont want to go back to Ramuh EX, I did that when it was relevant - I get that not everyone had that luxury but since this about personal opinions, I'm giving mine which is that I dont think its a good idea to try and make running those fights "the proper way" (aka: level synched, maybe even at minimum ilvl) rewarding over and over again. Its not that they're not enjoyable (...although... some arent, to be fair), but more that its "No, thanks, I already did that, I already beat this, I already farmed it - please dont make me go back to Titan Ex!"
Whatever reward they'd add - wether its Khloe or some other kind of incentive, it will also only last so long... until we're back at square one with people not wanting to do this old content again.
Or rather: When the rewards arent good enough anymore that you'll find an easy PF-group. Because I dont believe that there arent some people out there who wouldnt wanna do some old Ex-primals again - and not because they drop shiny stuff, but because they enjoy the fights and the challenges. So... I think a much better solution to your "problem" would be to seek like minded people and create a community that does synched EX-primals for the fun of it! I'm sure you're not the only person who'd like to do that - it will require more effort on your part to create or find such a community, but in the long run it will serve you way better than another Khloe book.
I feel like there is enough content in each expansion that we could easily have an ARR book, HW book, SB book, and ShB book, although that might have to come later after more Trials/Raids are added. I like revisiting ARR Primals each week, but it is a shame that it's so heavily skewed towards ARR content with HW/SB content fighting for single slots most of the time... Having multiple books for each expansion would not only rectify that, but provide more fluff content to the game which I'd say is desperately needed. Only issue is what the rewards would be...
As for unsynced content/a hard version... I always figured doing Trials unsynced should either give Second Chance tokens, or some new token that lets you tip RNG in your favour a bit more.
