Viera and Hrothgar hair in patch 5.1?

I'm not sure If there's already a thread about this, but It seems from the patch notes there's nothing about new hairstyles coming for Viera and Hrothgar in patch 5.1.
What do you guys and gals think?

It would be nice if the one they showed worked for everyone. My husband joked that they're going to alternate patches, and hrothgar and viera will be the only ones to get hair next patch. I hope he's wrong.

Limited hair styles for Viera what turned me off of changing to one. When they make it so can use any of hairs you earn and buy then I will be one.

I get that fixing hairstyles to races takes time and it's only been about 3 months since ShB launched but to be honest I'm afraid that the "we'll give new hairstyles to Viera and Hrothgar" thing will join the additional Egi glamours for Summoners in development hell.
I really hope that they'll fit the legacy hairstyles to Viera (the wording in "we'll give them additional styles but they'll be race-exclusive" from the past interview troubles me) and that for Hrothgar they'll continue to add more hairstyles as promised and (hopefully) allow them to be changed in the aesthetician.

Honestly the no mention of any kind of bone thrown at Viera/Hrothgar here made me change back to Au'ra. They really just shouldn't have done Viera/Hrothgar at all. They were never prepared to treat them as full races

Not having access to hairstyles I actually purchased with money from the mog station irks me the most. Made me switch from Viera for a while, but I came back because I love the race.. :/

once the hair and the helmet situation is fixed for both viera and hrothgar i'll switch back, but the lack of headgear and lack of hairstyles i liked personally kinda killed it for me.

Hroth has it way worse than viera since hairstyles are tied to their face. I can't see how they will make it so Hrothgars will get more hairstyles if you can't even change to the basic starter ones without a fantasia.

Between the insulting lack of meaningful changes for healers and no mention of Viera hair, I'm pretty much done with the game at this point. A continuing narrative isn't enough.

If it's not in the patch notes it's not in 5.1. Maybe 5.2? Maybe not? Thing is we don't have much information on what yoshi-p and team plans to do with the 2 new race since it's not following the same implement as the other existing races.

I know it's still too soon to expect anything in regards to hair and helmets.. but I did, and I'm disappointed. The new races are a real sore spot for me with the expansion. They're just unfinished, period. They should be able to wear all helmets (especially helmets paid for in the cash shop) and hairstyles. I know they said they'll get to them when they get to them, and I'm positive a lot of the minor content updates were probably already almost done to be begin with (furnishings, mannequins, minions, etc); however, I really think prioritizing unfinished content over minor content updates should be the case over at SE.

All I can do is hope that Yoshi and his team continue to hear that their Viera and Hrothgar players want their helmets and hairstyles. I hope they pursue this content in the near future. :)

[Edit] I also switch back and forth, b/c the lack of features on this race is really frustrating, but I've been waiting for Viera since launch. I'm half a mind they're delaying finishing these races indefinitely just so they can make some money on fantasias. I hope I'm wrong.

Both races will get fleas in 5.1, and their idle poses will all have occasional scratching.

For some reason I feel like we won't get the headgear or hairstyle problem fixed at least until 5.3 or 5.4 or something. I do hope I'm wrong but considering we haven't heard a single thing about Viera and Hrothgar hairstyles and headgear fixes yet, it just feels like they won't be getting to it for quite some time while they work on other things.

Maybe until after Eureka 2.0?

i was really hoping we get more hairstyles in 5.1 but it doesnt look like it i guess, i just hope that we can use the new coming hairstyle shown in the patchnotes. i love my bunnbunn and i was waiting for viera since 3.0 (and then we got aura). i was miqo since 1.0 until 5.0 and sometimes im tempted to switch back just for the hairstyles but then i look at my viera and i cant bring it over my heart (lol)

its not like we need all hairstyles at once back but atleast 3-4 each patch would be nice. im no programmer (or whoever is responsible to make it work) so idk whats the issue really.

its just frustrating because me and many others waited YEARS for viera and now with the lack of hairstyles (even real money purchases and hard to get ingame hairstyles) seems like a punishment.

at this time im really tired of "Limited" things in this game, first blue mage and now even limited races.

Sidenote: back then yoshi said we dont get viera yet because and I quote: "they cant wear shoes yet" - assuming they would get beastly like feet once released and they need to work on the shoes because of it- now they have completely normal feet and no hairstyles and X% no headgear to wear. I guess they just completely miscalculated how much time they would need to release both races or they planned it at the beginning to be the outcome we have now.

Dont get me wrong, I happy we got Viera ( and hrothgar ) but Im still disappointed.

Instead adding that new gate to Gold saucer which will be dead after a month they could have use that time and resouces to convert hair and head gear for new races for 5.1. Guess SE likes to do limited races and jobs and not finish them.

Well, we also don't know what the new raid's gear looks like. Maybe Viera and Hroth are getting something but it's a sneaky surprise. I don't have my hopes up but it's a possibility. That and they said on the patch notes new hairstyleS were added but only showed one. Worst case scenario: Every other race but Viera and Hroth gets 2 new hairstyles to use.

I wish they would at least allow Hroth to change between the 2 variations of the face they pick through the aesthetician. Having to use a fantasia in order to do that is stupid.

Yeah devs did mention new hair for viera and hrothgar a while back, no idea if it's a every major patch deal like usual, but yes should see new styles at some point

If everybody but Hroth and Viera got new hairstyles this patch, I think it'd cross over from disappointing to annoying. For me, at least. I mean I'm fine waiting for a bit, I know what I signed up for and I do love these races, but somebody earlier hit the nail on the head - they are unfinished. Period.

At the very least, brand new hairstyles added should take the new races into account too.

While i understand the reasoning a bit more with Hrothgar the Viera do not have a different head shape. They have the same heads as Elezen/highlander/Roe and the only different with the ear placements to Miqote are there a touch wider both lenght ways and sideways.

As we can see from modders it is not much more effort for them to adjust hairstyles for Viera. So the lack of hairstyles for Viera is stupid. Espically as the down styles are ugly as sin. Like have you seen the bottom of it at the back?

I really want a down hairstyle for my wedding but so far theres not much choice. Its annoying I have hairestyles i brought with money and gil I can't use for no real reason.

This needs to be fixed

Nobody forced or even asked Square to design races that wouldn't fit with the normal head modeling. Hrothgar especially are a disaster on hair since it's tied to their facial structure. Just ask the Au'ra about that one after SE was all about Au'ra horns being so customizable.

It's been a while since I saw it.... but I recall an image where someone removed the hair from a Viera, and the base of the ears are not connected to the head, which might make translating certain hairstyles difficult. Though they managed to figure out how to make them all sit on miquotes, so.... <shrug>

Hrothgar really need to just be made to be able to use the aesthetician to change their hair. I'm not sure if they were banking on players who picked that race not caring as much about their hair? But I know if it were me, and I bought a fantasia only to see the hair I picked then clipped through all my clothes (which at least a few of the hrothgar styles do) and I had no means of changing it without paying more real world money, I'd be pretty angry. So I really hope that they fix both the lack of options for hrothgar and the inability to change it post fantasia...

Also I'm hoping that warrior of light hairstyle is made available for all the races. Do we have any indication on how its unlocked at this point?

Jeez, man, why is my hair tied to my face to begin with? Where was the logic in that decision? Seriously? I can't change my hair unless I fantasia? Even then, were the option available I would have access to one (1) single other hair style. Viera at least have a decent dozen to work with.

As I said the modding community have had zero issue with Viera ears so i would like to think the actual game team shouldn't either.

I'm pretty sure the limited hairstyles of the viera are related to the hrothgar. And viera won't see new hairstyles separately from hrothgar.

my guesses in order i think it will be located;
1. ShB fates (new items are being added)
2. Gold Saucer
3. Pixie beast tribe

reasons being it has no connection with Nier seems to be coming with release of 5.1 not delayed so rules out Blu/ultimate/Hildy

As for the thread topic I think they should've focused on everything released with 5.0 and then worked backwards as time allows it, anything released for 5.X content should be useable by every race (except starting racial gear), the fact current tomestone/raid/crysterium gear doesn't work for them is bad.

Doesn't really bother me, I barely change my hair, and am happy with what I'm using. when we get new ones, great but I've never needed several hair styles to enjoy a race, just one I like and I'm fine and I like most of the ones we have.

Do you guys really need more hairstyles?? I mean, the ones you have look great. :v

I wouldn't personally care if no new hair was ever added specifically for Viera, but for the love of the Twelve, at least let me use my mog station and modern aesthetics hairstyles.

Honestly that's the biggest kick in the balls right there.

Like.. you could give them some leeway on getting older stuff in line for Viera/Hrothgar's wacky head geometry, that's reasonable... but why aren't 5.0 and beyond things all compatible with them? That just makes no sense at all.

Maybe the hairstyle is compatible with Viera though? They never said it wasn't. Hrothgar don't have hair options like the rest of the races so it probably won't work for them though.

I think SE treats Viera and Hrothgar in the same boat if one can't have something the other can't or they are seen playing favoritism so if Viera got the hairstyle, Hrothgar would need something as compensation and given the only way to change hairstyles is with fantasia it doesn't look good for anything new :(

Sometimes no information is enough information.

I'm excited to see the pvp headgear work for the races, but when they continue to release new gear/hairstyles for other races it's pretty clear viera/hrothgar are not as high a priority as the community would like them to be.

Up to this day I'm still pretty salty about the way XIV dealt with these new races.

They feel very incomplete without really a good excuse.

Gender-locking... okay, can get behind. But isn't standard to expect that a new race to be delievered being able to use every helmet? Someone might come and say "Oh, but takes time and work to do so." and I say back, again, isn't this considered standard when you'd develop a new race? I don't remember Au Ra having such an issue and they have freakin' horns, lol.

At this rate, I think it would be better if we got just Viera or just Hrothgar, but with both genders available and fully functional headgear.

Also about hair not being available, I know that Hroth is a whole different story because it's a lion's head... but Viera? It's practically an elezen with bunny ears on top of the head. Why they can't have - at least - the Modern Aesthetic hairstyles is way beyond my understanding.
