Feast Harassment is STILL a problem in 2019.

I'll be honest, I don't know how to tank in the feast. I was running practice mode to try and see if I could do it, and I wasn't performing well. I lost nearly every match, and weighed down the team.

But that gives you no excuse to message me after the content in a rude manner. I was cussed out and called horrible things just because I didn't perform in the way they wanted. I get that they were grinding matches and probably felt frustrated with losses, but I am too. I want to be good at my role, and be a supportive member of the team.

Please don't message me in PMs rudely. I'm open to advice, but being a stink just because you got gold or diamond, and think ing you have authority over everyone is pretty sad. I honestly felt like quitting Paladin and just not doing PVP as the job ever because of the harassment.

What I want people to get out of this is that PVP harassment is still a problem. Muting the feast chat did help remove it, but it's still very much a problem. I hope it improves but I doubt it. PVP is toxic in every game. Even simple practice modes that are supposed to be new PVP player friendly.

Welcome to the reason why most sane people stay away from the stinky sewers the online competitive environments have turned into.

You are wasting your time asking people to be polite. The next time you lose they'll keep jumping on your throat like a bunch of demented wild animals.

The only reason you aren't flamed more is because SE removed the chat in a failed attempt to dissuade these people from being rubbish sprinklers. But it can't be helped. They'll go out their way to afk, message you after the game or spam your character with ignore markers.

Never mind the mode being in dire need of new players because there are no more than a hundred of people active at this point. People would rather kill this mode than behave like civilized human beings.

Feast always was Toxic as fuck, that alone scares away alot of ppl from the mode.
It's the same deal with PVE though when you enter a savage pug or something some ppl telling you do go fuck yourself if you fucked up a mechanic or something.

Also there is no Feast Season going on right now so the only ppl you will see in that mode is ppl who are going for the Garo Mounts before they are wiped out.

I think you are kinda overreacting to this. There are SOME black Sheep and Trolls in the rated pvp mode. Mostly those who made top 100 after Stormblood easy-grind-mode was introduced and now think they are some kind of Gods having the authority to behave as they please. Most people in pvp are still normal behaving players with some being frustrated over the fact that they CANT tell a new Tank in the Feast that he should take some Medals. But yeah, if there are people yelling/flaming after matches you can simply BL them cause you wont get any useful advice from them.

Rule of thumb is to always be patient and understanding with new players, can unload toxic nukes on veterans that still play horribly

I personally won't fault someone for under-performing unless it's obvious they're throwing the match and not even trying. I've had multiple occasions where our healer just gave up and started hopping around and doing nothing just because we had two deaths early on, which is foolish because the Feast much more so then other PvP modes is designed in a way where you can make a potentially huge comeback as long as you're not getting totally steamrolled..

I don't think players have to stay away from feast, because somes players is just behaviors, this not belong to the feast, you can have this on every content on the game. Also believe me some of the toxic players is often new players as well, i don't say veterans is never toxic, but i have see many new players toxicity as well.

I often give few tips to new players if they accept my friend request.
if you need advices here is some :
1) take medals when you get a kill, off course
2) take rempart and a skill you like as additional
3) get back to your healer if you get damages, pop rempart, don't overextend on enemy base and be aggresive endlessly, don't Line of sight your healer so don't follow enemy behind a wall breaking the line of sight of your healer
4) when you see players do coundown on target, just stun at 3, burst at 0 with your mate
its basics but it may help you to beggin with

Like how do you even respond to this? What are you proposing, banning dm's after playing a match? Your playing in a practice unranked game and a guy is cursing you after the match? The guy is just an outlier jerk, just report him for harassment and Blacklist. OR... you could post your story in every outlet with a title saying PVP community, so Toxic! All I wanted to do is to play, all I received, flames! Btw another suggestion, your statement saying how muting chat in feast help curbed harassment suggests you've been at this quite a bit of time, which I would remove if you want to keep that Im a newbie getting harassed for learning the ropes type vibe post. I want that gold garo mount but suck at PvP so avoided feast after getting raped on healer,range dps, and melee dps jobs in there. It is why I prefer 72 frontline matches as you can do kills and objectives as a big group and no real pressure getting ganked with no back up.

Losing can be frustrating and I hate how SE forces you into PvP by adding so many rewards in it. Not being able to communicate in feast really hurts a lot too.

Isn't this going to be the case with any relatively detached/esoteric area of gameplay that's broadly played only during special win reward periods, regardless of which MMO you're in?

Muting feast chat hasn't helped, it just causes increased frustration because you cannot help someone fix a problem on the spot, it made people who probably weren't that bad when chat was in the game turn into total bellends. Actual good players will want to help you because we want the community to grow and it benefits all of us (especially in such a small community) to get along with each other or at least ignore the people we don't like. It has taken some longer than others to figure that out, and those people won't see your thread. Feel free to holla Lavigne#0001 on Discord though to ask something.

Forced my arse, the rewards are not mandatory to progress the game - you have a choice, same way there are many PvE rewards I won't get because I don't want to PvE past the MSQ minimum and the occasional Extreme and I don't have to. On the flipside, people who wanted to PvP before the lvl 30 changes were forced to experience PvE content en route to level cap because without the level cap, they couldn't play.

If you notice someone hopping around and giving up, I think it would be wise to try and cheer them up. Let them know that a lot of matches that are supposably over can be turned into comebacks. I've almost lost so many and then turned around the last second. As long as one person messes up bad you can have it turned completely around in seconds.

You’re wasting your time OP, just get back in there and make sure you read the tool tips of each action. For tanks there’s a specific rotation that can help down an opponent quickly. Combine it with the other classes attacking and you should be able to win every match. Fight hate with love. Get back out there OP.

Toxicity always breeds in competitive game play wherever it might be. Which is why I will never touch PVP in any game again, the stress and harassment from other people who will jump at you if you don't do exactly what they want or if you don't play 100% every game. I am sorry you've been dealing with this as it can discourage any player from learning and getting better. Feel free to report/ blacklist them if the harassment continues.

If you took the time to report take solace in the fact they will probably be taking some time away from the game. SE takes PvP harassment super serious. They didn't remove chat to have people message people after the game.

Hmm, I can't anything to help you with the nasty DMs, but I can offer you a few pointers for PLD. Basically, when the healer is around 2/3 to 1/2 health, silence them, and follow up with a stun just before silence falls off.
Also as a PLD, use cover on either your own healer, or a dps on your team that you see that is close to dying.

Other than that, don't feel too bad for a loss, feast wins are mostly decided by the competency of the healer. (Saying that as a healer main who has done a bit of the feast)
