Shantotto was the only one with enough personality to fit anywhere though, I'd say.

I mean, FFXI had a lot of great characters but they were kind of tied to the plot, and just that. Shantotto grew bigger than that.

as an actual npc i think she wouldn't fit, but i could see giving her a nod in black mage legends of old where you hear of a mighty lalafell maiden that goes by that name.

As for Shantotto, no. She was a "beach"

if anyone should be in this game from Xi it should be either Maat, or Lilinette (awww yeah hawtness).

Star Sibyl > Shanttoto

I would rather have her. and come on Gridania/Windurst are like the same. Trees everywhere, difficult to navigate, we could definetely re-use Star Sibyl somewhere in the storyline.

One of my favorite characters in FFXI was Lion. Even though her time was short, she made a big impact in the game where she was top 5 most famous characters at one point.

I think characters like these deserve a little more time to shine than those who have shined for a while and really weren't anything but a "personality attraction". Let's face it, if Shant didn't have that laugh she would of been just a regular TaruTaru like the rest of them. Lion in the other hand, why I think she was such a strong impact was because she was one of us.

No other character in FFXI can compare with the greatness.

Definately Shantotto. It's one thing with people saying "No, Prishe! No, Nashmeira! Lion! Lilisette!" but Shantotto was the only FFXI NPC that got off Vana'diel (and associated places. Sky, Sea etc.) and just... disappeared. It's feasible for Shantotto to make it here. It's not feasible for any others to manage it.

(...Interestingly, has anyone else noticed the server block on taking the names from existing FF characters? Domina Shantotto can't be claimed on any server, much like other characters from other games. I know the dev team take new shots / test with characters named after others, but... hrm.)

Im not quite sure, but in the first BLM Quests (minor spoilers ahead), isnt there a mysterious object called "Shatotto"? (just without the letter "n")

I think the only FFXI NPC I'd like to see is Maat. Simply because he fits that role of "training you beyond your limits" really well. I also think it's hilarious that an old man can beat the snot out of you in a one on one. Shantotto... not so much. At least she is referenced in the Black Mage quest line, that's good enough

I don't want to see Shantotto necessarily, but FFXIV could definitely use more memorable characters in the same vein as Shantotto/Prishe/Naja Salaheem

Nope, someone unique to this game would be good.

I like both the Miqo'te from Limsa and the Lalafell from Grid's story though.

Thrancid is awesome (however you spell it). Also Hilldibrand > All

No, but I would like to see an entirely new character that can be remembered like she was.

I do not want them to reuse any character. I'm sure someone can come up with a different crazy taru. Maybe this time a melee fighter style crazy lalafel.

Actually, the impending world changing event that will happen to Eorzea is just a freak accident that happened when Shantotto decided to play with matches one day. Don't play with matches kids!

Obviously Shantoto cast meteor upon herself and is now hurtling towards Eorzea

While I loved Shantotto, and wouldn't mind a nod towards her, I have no desire to import characters from previous games into this one.

My lil' Pony-corn!!! Everyone wants that...

I say we bring the Chibuki Trio back in, put them in charge of the Meteor project for the Empire just so we have an excuse to get revenge by kicking their asses, since we never got a chance too in FFXI.

If anything I hope when we get the Crystal Towers that every boss in Final Fantasy series will be in it.

Soon as the Dalamund or w/e blows up the world. I can see Shantotto just developing some dimensional magic out of boredom. She goes by a disguised name for a bit and gets a nice 2 or 4 chain quest line before letting the goose out of the bag, only to remember she doesn't have to worry about people knowing who she is in Eorza.
