I love how the Xaela got so much of these little lore-sprinkles with the info snippets on different clans. In continuation with my Ultimate Hellsguard Lore Guide, I present a few (4-5) canon-inspired fan villages in slightly-more-detailed Xaela description fashion!

Don't get me wrong, I really love your efforts and it's amazing to see how detailed and carefully you put things together... it's just a personal pet peeve that unconfirmed things are within the Lore Forum as Info Post (but hey, maybe the Lore team looks at that and gets inspiration, so that maybe, one day...) -

I guess I got too excited and moved too quickly with posting what I had. Ever since I finished the canon lore guide I've been non-stop thinking about future inspirations. It's seriously a dream of mine to write Hellsguard stuff for Yoshi/SE/FFXIV you have no idea. D:

I have to admit, I'm a bit worried that someone might hastily read this post, and joyfully update the Final Fantasy wiki with the info. There's a lot of cringey misinformation there...
That said, folks DO use this forum from time to time to find real lore to plot out their RP plans. This isn't TOO different from that... -

10-24-2019, 11:48 AMIscahI don't think they're legally allowed to take fanworks and make it canon, especially detailed things, unless they've officially called for submissions (which tend to be narrow-scope, eg. the gear and furniture design contests) that state the creator is handing over that idea to SE. Otherwise it's an issue and they could be accused of "stealing" ideas or open themselves up to copyright complaints.Quote:

I very much understand that what you wrote is non-canon. What I'm worried about is someone who DOESN'T understand that, transcribing to the wiki. It probably won't happen - but take a look at the wiki. You'll see a lot of glaring inaccuracies there (at least for those of a lore-minded bent).Quote:

I'm long of the opinion that S-E should set up an official sub-forum dedicated to roleplaying. That way, we can clearly distinguish between lore and "headcanon", which is essentially roleplaying.
But I think the major problem is that roleplaying does not have as strong an appeal with the Japanese community as it does with the Western community. You'll only need to take a quick browse of the official Japanese lore sub-forum to confirm this: Japanese players really just aren't very interested in the lore, let alone roleplaying beyond min-maxing their characters.
@Galeteya: This is simply a case of going to the wrong place to post your ideas. I would recommend that you visit this other forum instead. You'll find a more receptive audience there. Good luck! -

As long as such threads are specifically referred to as speculation and that the subject matter is non-canon I don't see the harm in such things being posted here. There actually isn't anything in the forum rules that specifically forbids such things, so I hope the OP and others wishing to share their head-canon are not put off by the direction of this thread!
