Where have all the Wild Ewes gone?

So I just spent the past hour and a half combing Eastern La Noscea only to come up empty-handed.

I need fleece to level my Weaver, but for the life of me I can't find Wild Ewes anywhere. Anyone mind cluing me in on where these darn things pop?

the little white ewes? should be a ton of them between bearded rock and limsa

Unfortunately, those are Lost Lambs, not Ewes.

According to most Web sites, Fleece -- which use to come only from a level 44 leatherworker synth -- drops from "Wild Ewes in Eastern La Noscea. But I can't find those.

I'd just farm the Sheepskin and get a Leatherworker friend to get me fleece if it were a matter of needing it for just one item. But Woolen Yarn/Cloth is involved in the recipes that will level me from 37-50. So it'd be nice to get it on my own without bugging someone to mass produce it for me.

hmmm, not sure then might be some at 28,40 towards that lighthouse area, but i dont know if those were lambs or ewes though

EDIT - yea some lambs ewes and whethers there, too bad its not just a straight camp of ewes for ya

Checked there, too. They're Lost Ewes, Wethers and Lambs.

So there are Ewes, just not the Wild variety =( Thanks for replying though!

They should still drop sheepskin due to well....being sheep, no matter "wild" or "lost"

We're missing the bigger picture.... where is lil bo peep? lost sheep is a sad thing.

Um, *Eastern* La Noscea? According to Yellow Gremlin, they're found in *Western* La Noscea and *Lower* La Noscea. There's a comment that says Eastern, though. He says they share spawns with the Puk Hatchlings, so you may have to kill those to see the Ewes.

Thanks for the info. Eorzeapedia and ZAM both say Eastern. I thought YG hasn't bothered to update since 1.19?

If that's the case then that's nuts. Looks like I need a leather worker for some hasty hand action.

YG has updated. the problem with YG is they need to delete all Drop data and rebuild the database.
YG has a 3rd tool that players use to collect data. people have been doing it. now a lot of mobs
have been moved or deleted in some cases and the database is clog with out of date data.

Well, I spent a good few hours killing everything from Bloodshore to Bearded Rock to Skull Valley in hopes of uncovering a shared spawn to no avail.

Sadness.

I didn't realize that Fleece actually dropped. I always just got sheepskin and made the fleece myself, that is why I posted what I did >.> Sorry I didn't know that fleece dropped already made xD Been a long time since I farmed the cute little sheep ; ;

Oh, no need to apologize at all. I certainly appreciate the help. So much has changed in this game since release it's hard to keep track of anything.

I do remember Wild Ewes popping north of Bloodshore, and even getting a fleece once when I was killing some, but that was months ago already.

I know Sheepskin to Fleece is one of those recipes marked to eventually be removed from the game, so hopefully we get an updated method of obtaining fleece in the next few patches.

We get fleeces from the level 50 weaver leve in Uldah. But fleeces as drop would be better to get fleece +1, too

I feel like I should get some sort of Lodestone achievement for this.

I finally decided to just buy the fleeces I needed to level up. They were cheap enough thankfully.

But I agree, being able to farm +1s would be nice. I guess for now I'll just farm +1 Sheepskins and pester my LTW friends. Hopefully SE remembers this, though, when they remove dated recipes and LTW can no longer turn skins into Fleece.

I was so hungry I killed them all and made some awesome roasted meats...and ate them all...

As was mentioned, if you need a lot of it just hasty hand the leves, most of the high level weaver leves give you a ton of fleece. I just buy it all as there is always a ton available for cheap. +1 drop rates aren't terribly reliable, anyway, so you could be farming for hours for enough for 1 synth.
