The trauma returns. The ultimate static killer. Pepsiman! He's back, and more ultimate than ever.
In seriousness though, I'm looking forward to doing Alexander Ultimate in 5.11. What about y'all?

My body is ready.
Oh man, it's Pepsi Plunge vs. Pepsiman all over again!
Didn't care about ultimate before and still don't now.
Defamation + Gavel + Ducts + Sluice at the same time.
I'm so excited :D
Super hyped! Can’t wait to prog and clear this!
While I can't do Ultimate myself (my carpal tunnel would never survive such a long fight, it hurts just thinking about it), I look forward to watching the chaos.
I'm hoping there might be some additional lore details in it!
After clearing UWU I got a massive surge to continue to prog Ultimates and adding the fact that I slammed my head on A3S back when it was relevant and never beat it, I'm very much looking forward to this.
Alex is my era so i haf to do this!
I felt i didnt deserve to do Ucob and Uwu for beacuse i didnt experience those fights in ARR. I began in HW.
Me and my friends have been speculating what combination mechanics are coming, one of the worst we came up with was(that might be plausible), Digititus + optical sights + 5 robot spam + sacrament
I kind of want to pug Eden just so I can get savaged by pepo man in real time.

Thank you for that insight into your world, it contributed greatly to the conversation at hand and we look forward to your future contributions.
The topic asked for opinions ("What about y'all?") and I gave mine. If you don't like it, too damn bad.Quote:
Okay, but no need to try and rain on those that are looking forward to it.
Ladies, please.
Sorry did not mean to offend you in anyway, guess I generally have a different mindset might be due to ABA, but I was conditioned / taught (ABA can be wonky) that in real life situations just because someone asks for your opinion does not mean it is always best to give your opinion--a kin to entering a meeting about a certain topic you already have an established negative outlook on, at that point yes you are free to give your opinion but best case people ignore it, or worst case causes conflict or derails the discussion.
Looking back I ended up doing something I should not have an I am sorry, I ended up contributing to a potential derailing of the discussion and also potentially offended you while not my intent my actions were indeed an attempt to squelch. I apologize, if we had private messages I would have done said this that way.
On topic, I am looking forward to progressing through ultimate, our group is that that skilled we recently just got through Ultimate weapon, so another long form of long lasting content is welcomed. Never raided in HW, and never ran those encounters not synced so it will be an interesting experience.
Ah, so opinions are only okay as long as they agree with yours?Quote:

I must have missed the memo that dictated that all discussion forums were to hereafter be referred to as echo chambers.
Sorry not trying to fight with you, I am on the spectrum and from an early age I use to say that while technically I was within my right to say within the social context it was not appropriate, and I tend to conflate forums with actual real life social situations and that is where my comment came from. As I said in the other post I apologize for my comment was not my intent to try and squelch your opinion in anyway though I understand how it did come off like that and intent does not matter all that much when the end result is me coming off as trying to control opinion. I understand why you may be upset / hostile I just wanted to explain where I was coming from so maybe you would have a better understanding as to my stance.
ABA is not the best since it looks at things in a vacuum and as such I tend to have a harder time telling the difference between real social situations like the example I gave and an open forum on the internet which is more so a simulated social experience where each situation while similar in terms of context differ in terms of consequence and impact thus cannot be considered the same.
I actually agree with Fynlar here. You shouldn't be using the statement to silence open opinion. It wasn't insensitive. it wasn't offensive. Fynlar didn't even attack the OP or anyone else in the thread. He simply gave an opposing view. There was no reason that an opposing opinion SHOULDN'T have been said here. even remotely. Please describe the reason why it shouldn't have been said.
Even if you don't understand that it was doesn't change the fact you had used this statement as a weapon. This is a great moment to learn this lesson without too much negative consequence.
Onto the actual topic so I have "something to add";
I am not eligible for ultimate. I also don't often watch streams. Let alone for repetitive and tedious activities- such as wiping repeatedly to the same fight for 24+ hours. The "hype" for seeing a new fight is very EASILY and definitively ruined by the sheer boredom of seeing the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
the only thing that would hold my interest is banter between the team or their interaction with the stream viewers. and im sorry, speculating strats between eachother and focusing 150% to the game and ignoring the stream doesn't fulfill that.
to put succinctly; I have negative interest in Alexander Ultimate. but I'll hear about it. and thats enough for me.
EDIT/addition for Awha: I'm often pretty blunt in matters. wordplay is often a fickle art and is torn to shreds in this environment (and the world at large lately). so nothing I've said is a direct attack or even negative towards you. I simply wanted to avoid beating around the bush or using kid gloves toward you. Which is why I perhaps come off as harsh or cold in some of my posts. I often miss the mark and have my own set of weaknesses as well.
The few times I've sifted through the forums you're usually pretty composed and have a handle on social interactions. I just take a bit of issue with using a more general statement of basic tact and misusing it in a way it wasnt intended. But even though I disagree, It doesnt mean I wish to silence your stance either.
This whole thing reminded me of this parody

There's a huge difference between "I don't like Ultimate because XYZ", and "I don't care.". One actually foments discussion, the other is just noise and calling for attention.
It's definitely OK to silence such posts because they don't add anything to the discussion, just to the poster's ego.
True, but that "certain minstrel" does lean very hard on the fourth wall and/or could justifiably know a lot more as an in-story character than he lets on....
More importantly, we've just had an expansion where Alexander is a background-but-crucial piece of the puzzle, and here it is being brought up again. Possibly by coincidental timing, since previous ultimates were ARR bosses and HW is the logical next step, but still.
Based OF being hostile to Ultimate because it's content they'll never be good enough to do.
Opinions are fine, yes.
Being a jerk about it is not. Offering nothing to the conversation is also not.
Your tone this entire thread has been, at best, completely dismissive. At worst? openly hostile. Do you mean it that way? maybe not, but that's irrelevant. What it comes off as is you coming into a thread, proclaiming yourself to not care about it. That kind of thing always raises the question "if you don't care about it, why even come in here and be negative about it?"
A good contribution to the discussion is not "I didn't care and I still don't", but rather more like "I don't personally care for ultimate. I find that it's too much of a time investment for me to actually get into it. I would like it better if there were a 'normal' and 'ultimate' versions of the fight, so that more people would be able to experience it."
You didn't get called out because your opinion was disagreed with. You got called out because you were being a twit.

I don't see the people who like ultimate having to provide Reasons for why they feel that way, so why should anyone else?Quote:

Denouncing opinions simply because they disagree with yours sounds more like the actual "twit" behavior if you ask me.
Denouncing opinions because they disagree with yours =/= denouncing opinions that boil down to "look at me, I exist" instead of adding actual discussion.
Again, please tell me where "discussion" was the goal of this thread. Most of the people responding are just like "yay, want!" without actually stating why they want it or inviting any discussion of their opinions. Even the OP doesn't say why they're looking forward to ultimate; they just said they are. Why isn't he getting blasted for making what basically also boils down to a "look at me, I exist" post?
Since you're not treating both sides equally (I'm sure that if I went with the crowd and said "yay, want!" nobody would be taking issue with it or asking me to defend my stance), all I can assume is that, yes, you're denouncing opinions simply because they don't fall in line with yours. So again, who's really being the twits here?
I'd say it's the one twisting other people's arguments, and using the "If they can, why can't I too?" defense.
You could have already provided your reasons to boost discussion, but I guess shirking blame and deflecting is more important.
i would like to point out.... you have not said a word about ultimate, and have focused singularly on clinging to being confrontational to a single person. what have you added to this topic?
if you want to have a moral high ground, its usually a cool thing to acknowledge and admit to your own faults and blatant hypocrisy.
