The five second wind up time on Automaton Queen is unacceptable

Leveling my DPS and Machinist is ridiculously fun, but there is one amazingly glaring issue. Their lvl 80 ability.

Imagine if when you summoned Bahamut, or Phoenix, they showed up but nothing happened for five seconds.

That's what happens with Machinist.

It mars an amazingly fun job.

Well actually, sometimes it's quite usefull. You can summon the queen early to avoid weaving problems, you can summon before using a pot.

Something that is not acceptable is the absence of lag recognition.

Machinist is impossible to play in an optimal way for many because of lag. Wrong USA coast? Australian? No luck, you will miss a GR/Ricochet for sure between two Heatblast
Also the Drill delayed damage is annoying.

Considering MCH (and really all of the physical ranged DPS) need a damage buff right now, I'd be fine with removing/reducing the windup, though it is worth noting that the lvl 80 DRK skill has the same long windup.

But it's literally added to the account.
As soon as you pass from 79 to 80, your max timer is upgraded by 5 seconds.

Also no, it's not the same. Queen is autonomous while demis require you pressing buttons

don't need to imagine, there's a reason we hardcast a ruin in our first gcd after summoning bahamut.

I think the devs have taken into account the wind-up before it starts doing something but they added a new problem it gives the perception of wasted time and thus wasted potency with the timer starting as soon as you activate the skill, should they have the timer invisible now until the wind-up ends i would expect the timer to be current timer - wind up time and would then give the perception of a nerf even if nothing has actually changed except when the timer becomes visible.

Just use the skill 5 seconds before you want the queen to do damages. And also take some time to enjoy the stylish arrival, instead of wanting it to be the same as another job, and having even more people complain later that all jobs are becoming more and more copy paste of each others. The DRK one is pretty cool to see too, it would be a waste to have it gone just because not doing instant damages piss off some theorycrafter doing his excel dps spreadsheets.

Queen's activation delay is the least of MCH problems. It makes it so that summoning Queen requires some foresight and planning but it's a non-issue when you understand the concept and the raid buff timings you want to target. The design cluster of Heat Blast 1.5s gcd, Gauss Round and Ricochet reduction and Hypercharge are a much bigger design flaw.

This i can fully agree with i love how Mch looks now i like their more focus on Edgar's tools but i have yet to get it to Dohn Mheg, why? because i play on NA datacenter when i'm from UK (my friends are here so i''m staying they mean more to me than other things) so i have very high ping, it is absolutely frustrating not being able to get a Gauss Round and a Richochet in Hpercharge and still get 5 Heat Blast. I try I really do but it happens so infrequently it is not worth it so i relegated it to Trust leveling because i will not put others through me trying to do that(Trust are lv72 so i really don't care for it).

I can agree with this, even if it's perfectly balanced, perception is reality and perception shows it doing nothing for a long time.
