There’s not much more you can upgrade at this point other than getting an i460 ring—but it won’t really be a gain without the polish to augment it to i470. DNC BiS involves either double Deepshadow (one i470 and one i460) or an i470 Augmented ring + Pentamelded crafted ring.
What does the gear of the rest of your team look like? Are yourself or other members of your raid team dying often to mechanics or getting repeated damage downs from the Ahriman that fly around? And, I have to ask: are your healers also contributing to the damage?
Maybe the boots? I don't really know if the gain of DEX and DH compensate the lost of CRIT. I suppose no.
My boyfriend stuff is : https://fr.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...cter/15561259/. He's around 10k dps but don't really happy with his rotation.
Don't know how many DPS our heal make. It's WHM + SCH team.
Until Quietus we can avoid all add.
Thank your for the reply ^^.
Remember that gear can only do so much.
1. Your static should get comfortable with the mechanics to minimize errors.
2. Then always remember your ABC, "Always Be Casting", even if it's wrong it's better to press the wrong buttons than not pressing anything.
Those two points alone should be enough to beat the E2S enrage (and maybe E3S).
Also, check out some guides from the balance discord (https://thebalanceffxiv.com/jobguides/), it seems like some of you don't have a full grasp on how their job works and could use some tips to improve.
No need to buy Tomestone boots, as the Savage ones are BiS for DNC. However, as a rule: main stat always counts for more compared to substats. But, as I said, you shouldn’t have to buy non-BiS boots. (Also, the Tomestone ones have Skill Speed, and DNC does not like skill speed.)
Here’s what your BiS looks like for future reference: https://ffxiv.ariyala.com/1AMXX
A WHM+SCH duo should net 6,000 DPS each very easily (so, total of 12,000), and that’s a lowball estimate—they’re capable of higher, but I’m not sure what their gear is or how much healing they may be doing. I’m guessing that no one in your group parses—with one of those, it would generally be easy to see with whom the damage issue lies.
What if the rest of your party comp? Does your party have the full 5% party bonus? I’m wagering that group DPS is too low: either from rotational errors on the part of people in the party, or too many deaths/damage downs. You said players avoid the Ahriman; does your party have a lot of deaths? If not, it’s certainly a rotation issue on the behalf of the DPS.
I don't have logs of last pull but i'll pass the message to the heal.
The comp is : WHM SCH DRG SMN BLM DNC WAR and we're looking for a perma tank.
I don't really know if i must keep BLM on partner or prefer the DRG who have the best DPS on E1S.
We go back on raid tomorrow, i'll ask for the log and come back.
I think if you want to comfortably beat the enrage, the boss should be around 75% minimum (In the current gear levels it's not unusual for it to be almost sub 70%) by the time the first Quietus cast goes off.
You generally partner with the one having the highest dps without dance partner.
That *should* be the BLM but if the DRG is better on this fight, partner the DRG.
If your group is decently geared and doesn't have deaths or damage down debuffs until Quietus/ Cycles, it's likely a rotation problem or an uptime problem. The boss doesn't vanish like E1 or E3 people should always be above 90% uptime even if they struggle with some mechanics and focus on avoiding Nyx during Cycles and drop dps in favor of playing the mechanic correctly. The more comfortable everyone gets, the closer you will get to 100%.
Also, if the BLM is below the DRG it could be because of poor positioning or maybe a subpar strat. Most strats place the two ranged dps at NE and NW which is a pain for BLM, escpecially when the raid stacks south for stack up marker. It's also possible to place the Leylines in a way that lets you avoid all mechanics while staying in them but that's a matter of practice. I sometimes still throw them slightly off and have to leave them for Guillotine. I'd love to see logs though, much easier to see what's the actual problem.
Took a peek at the logs-site you all know of and DPS may be indeed an issue. But while I actually see some of them wanting, you should be fine if you can parse blue in E1S.
For the rest of it: I don't want to parse-shame someone, but there are are still people in your static who haven't even managed to see green in E1S after 5 or more kills, with others just barely jumping over the 25% mark. So I think there may be also some problems with the rotation of said players.
