Can we see an update on this finally? Even just a word that it's still a thing that's being done? I've been waiting since 2.x for a Leviathan/Ramuh/Shiva Egi...
I find the "It's not a priority because it's only something for Summoner" line of argument the developers gave us in the past to be a fairly weak one now, given Bard sees damn near consistent updates to Performance. This, for example, looks like a fairly great and in depth addition for Performance, with new assets and systems to help improve a Bard only feature... Meanwhile Ramuh-Egi assets have been in the game since 2.3 and it's too much work to let us access them because it's "only for Summoner"? Come on...

Anyone remember back in 2015 when they announced the difficulty of extra Egu's because of the trinity system they locked themselves with the egi's and they were developing a glamour system for the egi's so Summoners can still expand their egi's in at least appearance since the job has a focus on the player?
I hope the Carbuncle glamour wasn't what they meant. -

Effort clearly went into that, it's quite clearly a passion project for someone on the development team. It Would be nice if we got more egi glamours, heck they could even add the glamours as a drop scroll/item for the extreme primals to give even more reason to farm them. I would love a tsukuyomi egi.
Of course it would be only for the appearance of our egi's nothing performance based. -

I wonder if one of the reasons for the big delay is that they're still trying to figure where Summoner stands, and they want to get to that point before they start releasing a bunch of cosmetics they might have to withdraw or entirely reconfigure later.
Yeah, I'd like quest bound concept. I'd like to encourage the FFXI / FFX sort of vision of it all, so the Summoner could go on a great pilgrimage to unlock these other egi-glamour. Ideally, imo, some of these options are like Ifrit-Egi+1- where SE gets closer to that sweet Demi look.Quote:

Honestly I don't think they're planning on working on it anymore, but they should still tell us either way. Still waiting for my white carbuncle though.
Also BRD Performance isn't so comparable to Egi Glamours when the latter takes up more resources. Unique models, unique animations and unique particle effects for each Egi, while Performance is just music notes with the same repetitive playing animation slapped onto it, hence why there's frequent updates to it. -

They don't even make their own soundfonts, they just use a third-party one. All they really do is model a new instrument and then create a playing pose and animation for said instrument. Edit: I didn't realize they're adding so many things to bard performance now so oops! but I was more on the line of adding new instruments vs new Egis. Still, I really wonder if they just gave up on Egi glams because that's what it looks like right now. -

This was brought up during interviews before the launch of Shadowbringers. I don't know the exact phrasing or what they are shooting for, but it was mentioned that they are working on it, but don't want to release any info until something solid is in place. I don't think they commented on its priority status, but it was hinted it as being up there. And this might just be me being hopeful, but I think a 5.X release was being pushed for.
As for the info, just search for the interviews, specifically the ones from youtubers, like Larry, those are where the hints came from. -

Y’all not getting that egi glamour lol SMN has way more pressing issues.
SE is still trying to fix their out of wack pet AI so I wouldn’t hold my breath honestly as they have been fixing that AI since ARR....and the AI has a much bigger priority then glams especially since they are a pretty small company -

The progression of Egi to Demi seems fairly sensible to me, more so because the Egi are effectively just another DoT spell, while the Demi are part of the actual Summoner rotation. That limits how many Demi you can have, a Bahamut to Phoenix rotation works fairly well (from a thematic standpoint), mixing Ifrit/Garuda/Titan Demi into that would just bloat the rotation to a ridiculous level. Only way they can really do more Demi is with a Demi-Glamour system, which I admit would have worked when Summoner only had Bahamut, but now that we get Phoenix as well, there is a clear theme with the Demi summons, not to mention Job Gauges would need a complete redesign for each new Demi. That strikes me as far more work, for less pay off (Demi are out for a set duration, Egi can be out indefinitely), than just giving us the main 6 Primals as Egi and saving bigger Primals for flashier skills.Quote:

Let's be real Egi are problematic right now and SE might be readying to get rid of the system as a whole, hence they've been so quiet about Egi glams. Even with the current problems (which hopefully get fixed), Demi summons are looking more promising as a pet concept.
But yeah, I'm pretty sure two separate teams work on job balance and whatever team worked on the Egi glams, but they all probably share a same resource as a division team. I agree with some posters here that they should put that effort and resource into fixing the job first. -

Yeah I’m getting pretty fed up with the false promises the dev team likes to peddle on a lot of things. They’ll likely do the same with a multitude of other wanted features they spoke about, like changing eye colour in the Aesthetician, and adding more wearable hats and BOUGHT hairstyles on Viera/Hrothgar (that still infuriates me, if they’re not going to add the premium hairstyles many of us already spent money on they should refund us). The devs have been enjoying blowing smoke up our behinds recently, it’s really not cute with the absurd amount of money and popularity this game generates.
