WAR's holmgang needs a resistance buff.

So, every other tanks disable type skill like stuns or pull backs, knockbacks, etc.... Those have resistances. WAR's holmgang though? You can be yanked by 4 WAR's in a row one after another and be locked in place. I get that Tomahawk is their form of disable but they get two then?.... One of which can be chained indefinitely until the person is just zerged? That doesn't seem right.

Most likely because they balance for Feast, not Frontlines and obviously you don't get 4 Warriors in Feast. And having 4 Warriors chain holm you is a huge reach as it is.

Can't see any reason why they wouldn't just add that though since on the same vein, it'd have no affect on 4v4 whatsoever.

Taking the L for 4 holmgangs sounds like a good trade regardless, if there was a competitive FL mode where cd economy mattered

Does Fluid Aura trigger either of the respective resistance effects?

If it doesn't, then they likely just goofed with coding abilities that offer multiple types of crowd control simultaneously. If it does, then they goofed with Holmgang specifically.

Well Fluid Aura is a knockback, not a draw or a bind, and knockbacks are on DR so half yes (it triggers the knockback DR). I don't even think draw effects exist in PvE which could largely be a reason why they don't have resistance tied to them, as Holmgang and Unmend only had this behaviour after Heavensward. Also ties into that other point again where they haven't goofed if they've balanced the game for feast - because you'd only get drawn once so having a DR would be pointless as the CD is longer than the actual DR itself.

Anyway, Holmgang ignores resistance, it's on the tooltip - so it was obviously done on purpose and is countered by Temperance. Play White Mage if it scares you.

Now I feel like I should be playing WAR instead of DRK.

I'm always trying to yank priority targets likes battle high players or healers out of a group so they can be burned down more easily but Unleash scarcely seems to budge them even if they aren't packing resistance.

Agreed. Balancing for Frontlines in this case would have no negative effect on Feast, since when having only one Warrior, you're not going to see two Holmgangs within the same DR period...

Holmgang has tiny range and binds the war and is useless if it has resistance and is on 45 sec cd. Binds for like 3 secs. So no.

Please read it again. This is not about your 1v1. You think it is useless abut a lot people find it is very strong when used correctly. Charge to a target, knock the target towards alliance. Rotate hole gang until target dirs

The bind on Holmgang makes it way more useful then Unleash for securing kills on players because latency often results in Unleash just making them slingshot back to their original position a second after they get pulled over.

Right, so u want to give the move diminishing returns so warriors can waste a 45 sec cooldown and not have an on demand gap closer outside of sacrificing dps for an IR to onslaught?

You realize slow on tomahawk barely helps wars close gap enough to holmgang?

Im down for dr on holmgang if onslaught didnt cost rage, or tomahawk slow duration doubled.

World doesn't revolve around you because you had one bad experience. Id like to see a show of hands of people chain holmganged for "four times" in frontlines.

I am telling you the discussion is about holmgang should have a DR like rest of actions. This action without DR is very strong on the Frontline. I am reminding you this is a discussion about prevent an action without DR will resulting a permanent stuntlock. This is a Frontline adjustment that has no impact on Feast. Why would you care about DR on a 45s CD in 1v1 or Feast? Yes, I am “positively criticizing” your previous comment

Holmgang not having a DR and ignoring any existing DR/resistance is an intentional perk of the ability. Hence why it's emphasized in the tooltip. It's balancing between the tanks. I originally said I couldn't see an issue of it having a DR on the draw as it won't affect feast, but in no way it should have one in Feast, and they can't exactly split it.

Catagorical DRs aren't impossible; we've had a patch-period with them before, iirc. We could, for instance, leave sleeps with long DRs and reduce everything else to 45 seconds, if we wanted to. Or, in this case, put draw-ins on a 45. There'd therefore be no effect on 4v4 Feast, but you wouldn't be obliging Unmend-Holm-Bash rotations either.

And not needed.

Cuz i find it hard to believe that you need to be chain holmganged by 4 warriors to be killed in frontlines.

No amount of healers can keep u alive for that long.

What harm does it cause, though? And how would the suggestion be discriminatory towards Warriors, alone, exactly? Holmgang is a draw-in, but it's not the only one. Should any group of players be able to pull an enemy to their death 6 times in a row, let alone be held their for full duration afterwards? We certainly don't allow that from stuns. Why should draw-ins (and their attached uniquely-classed snares, in Holmgang's case) alone be immune to DRs?

And you've been talking frequently about how WAR has so much rage via Infuriate that we rarely even get to experience a Storm's Path combo... How are you suddenly never having rage enough to Onslaught?

While 4 wars holmganging you sounds bad for you, it's also bad for them unless they happened to all be within melee distance of you.
They can't move, it's not like the new fancy pve holmgang where you can move. So you have 3 people stuck in place while the last war is hitting you.
