I endorse this in both PVP and PVE, we need reasons to be more aware of our surroundings and positions.

I miss the little extra's we got in many of the level 50 instances where there were additional things to consider or take advantage of. Spike balls in Halatali, the spike traps before first boss in Qarn, the damaging "beams?" in between 1st and 2nd bosses in Haukke Manor. Just seems in the vast majority of content nowadays, we only have to keep an eye out for obvious aoe puddles which are nothing more than a "meh" anyway. Even a black mage can get casts finished and moved out the way most of the time the puddles are that insignificant.

and yes, without wanting to hijack a pvp thread with visions of historic pve content, it would add a wonderful element of tactics to pvp. It would make people think twice about chasing as they could be being led into a trap and would encourage another element of teamwork (if say another person had to activate the trap while another person is being baited)

I noticed Low Blow (in pvp) now does knockback as well, is there any job that doesn't have access to crowd control? The accessibility is just asking to be paired up with environmental hazards!

Only some of the melee DPS are lacking options to knockback/immobilize/snare players (SAM and DRG, namely).

I suppose the best you can do now is making someone get hit by a train in Hidden Gorge with a well-timed knockback/CC.

An aoe where if you step on it you gain an acceleration bomb.
