Moogle tomes are back but why not add to the higher lvl 24 mans?

That might make people want to run them more esp if they gave more than the 50 ones

Nah, we definitely need people spamming Crystal Tower raids. Not that they don't do that anyway for Alliance Roulette by decreasing their ilvl before queuing...

Jokes aside, I think it's because so if players don't own any expacs then they can do the same content (with the tome bonuses) as players that do own them.

I don't think i'm going to do this, such abusive amount of Tomes required to buy each stuff and a pathetic amount earned for each Clear. Good luck for who's going to do this because i won't :'(

The rewards are an insult... sry but like 80% are trash you get easier from other things... the only interresting stuff is the most expensive, yet its just some earrings...

First time I did it was for the Pegasus Mount which I never got. I got the other stuff before the Moogle tomes.

Honestly I'm thankful for the mount, but honestly the high effort little reward is such a turn-off. Why would I constantly burn myself out for little gains for some stuff that cost a lot.
Buff the drop rate for the longer clear runs at least.

Maybe if they had added all bird mounts then I would have a reason to do this event. Only thing don't have is that dog earring but doubt it show up good on a aura. Like other one from last time couldn't even see it.

Birds... lol you can unsync the HW primals and get your mount surely faster then doing the moogle grind. Well i rather did THE DIADEM grind to get the mount i was missing then doing the moogle tome BS... IF at least it wasnt suck oblivious "we know theres no content till the patch but pls dont take a break" bait...

.. it actually looks like they juiced it up from the first iteration.

like 10 runs of Prae for the most expensive thing.. not bad.

Two rounds of pvp in Frontlines at most lasting about 20 minutes combined or so gives you the same results as 1 run of Prae.

Yeah it's pretty obvious what content people will be running.

I think it's a trick to get people to PvP more lol.
And also just a filler until 5.1, like what happened before
5.0 came out. Not really worth that much boring effort
for most I guess...

When i saw this announced i was sure they’d do the next set of raids, so the HW ones and i was stoked because i’ve been trying to farm the tank top from Weeping City on one of my alts. Been in there a good 17 times and usually have a wait time between 60-80 minutes. I just really hoped for some incentive for people to run it more....

But those earrings are darn cute and I’m definitely gonna get them on my main!

If you don't care about the color and just want the design, the Facet armor set of Fending uses the same base, and you can dye it.

completely skipped out on this the last time to the point of letting my sub lapse. But I might run some PvP again for the Sophia mount since the duty list isn't complete utter *kupo!* this time.
The very concept of this event is still garbage though. Just a pair of earrings alone aren't worth grinding it, and most of the other rewards are still easier to get the conventional way

Completely ignored this last time, will completely ignore it again.

A note for those hunting the Pegasus mount, it's not too hard to farm in the Diadem with a buddy. You simply go into the Trial of the Matron at off-peak times when it's definitely empty, spend 20 mins tops gathering Darksteel, Mythril, Spruce and other decent mats to sell. While doing this grab all the Buried Coffers in the open world. After your gathering objective, explore every cave/atherial gap, there's generally one chest in each. You can easily get 40-50 brass spoils in one run total (halved if you split with your friend).
You then trade the 10 steel spoils from the objective for 30-90 HW nuggets/lumber for even more profit. I got the mount and pet a while back this way.

That top is a really nice alternative. But the Weeping City one is also level 60. I’d love it for my alt who doesn’t have level 80 tanks yet, but the queues are horrendous.

Not sure what all the complaining is about--if earrings aren't your cup of tea, you can just not farm for the tomes, no harm done to you? (Personally not interested in the earrings myself, but maybe I'll finally be able to get those last riding maps I was missing...)

I think with the boosted amount of tomes given, the reward prices are fair. You could probably get to 100 just from doing your roulettes each day, no moogle-specific grinding even necessary.

It's odd they haven't updated the dungeon requirements at all, besides adding PVP. It's a pity they haven't added anything to encourage roulettes, especially now with the changed pricing structure. They could give one tome for adventurer in need or something.

Given that this is also the lead-up to the end of the Garo gear, it seems more like a bonus for people who are already running PVP for that reason (and so they don't feel torn between the two events).

There are some other cool things at least - the not-available-in-game Falcon mount and the primal birds if you haven't been grinding for them.

As discussed, the tome payment rate is much improved from the previous event, so it's something you could reasonably do just with your daily roulettes over the period when the event is running.

And that's all well and good...if you don't have any of those things. This is probably Christmas in September for people who do not. I just wish they'd throw a bigger bone to those who've already collected a vast majority of what the vendor provides. I don't consider earrings to be that bone.

unsyncing is not faster always, I have been in many farm parties which have lasted over an hour and when I was the last person who needed a mount, someone leaves and then everyone else leaves after that.

Pretty much i can garuntee a bird mount in 10 runs with pvp

I run main and alliance daily to level my alt roles. I'm interested in the two birds primarily. Unlike the last time this was going I had no role that needed leveling so running the duties was really extra work for me.

Focusing on the Round and Sophic birds when unsynced:

Thordan EX:
I've seen people who suffer the same fate as a certain NPC, thus wiping the party. Some even botch the eye mechanics and run around to the outer rim like headless chickens.

Sophia EX:
People hit the PLD add recklessly and get flung off the platform. In addition, some don't even do tilts properly and fall off to their 0 HP doom.

I've had better luck clearing both Thordan EX and Sophia EX when they were synced back in Heavensward.

In short, even when unsynced, please do mechanics in EX trials to clear them more smoothly. Otherwise, you're better off doing Praetorium 3 times for each of the birds if you want them so badly. (This is especially for those who flub the mechanics over and over again after clear explanations are given.)

Thordan is not all that bad... I've three manned Thordan since expac drop with no issue at all. Hell three manned it during SB too. Honestly I'd rather unsynch Thordan than ever touch the frontlines.

Yeah, I've ran him a few times through SB and in Shadowbringers so far. To be honest, things usually die well before mechanics begin to be an issue. The same could be said of most of the HW Ex trials. If someone is seeing issues regularly then they must have some pretty bad luck. That's not to say it doesn't happen, because it does. I've seen it. It's just not as big of an epidemic as some may think in my experience. Obviously I can't speak for everyone.

Theordon is just really boring to me
Just like bahamut ad phase takes way longer than boss itself

I enjoy pvp anyway besides the Node one

Yeah, more alliance raid for mogtomes will be good, the CT series get boring pretty fast when you run it everyday (and I still yet to recover from CT burnout from the last mogtomes event lol)

Last time this was here, I didn't even grind anything other than my normal tome grind for gear. I didn't queue into anything specifically and just did my daily roulettes for the duration the items were available and then cashed in a couple days before it ended. I can't remember everything I got, but the amount of moogle tomes I acquired was around 150. I remember going after items I specifically knew I wouldn't get any other way such as the diadem drops, and I did not care to get the earring.

This time around is different though because I am still leveling, and I am very particular with how I do it. I suppose I could use it to level another job that I am currently not trying to get to max, but draft day usually doesn't happen until after I get all of the current jobs I'm leveling to max. Decisions, decisions. I guess I might have to pick up a mid-season free agent. It was going to be MNK anyway xD

Whoa, I always assumed they gonna put that Falco mount in Mogstation at some point, but instead they are giving it for free! Looking forward to this event.

So castrum is probably the most efficient way this time? 25 mins a run for 7 tomes. 14 per hour. Prae is 10 an hour. CT is probably about 9 per hour if you do Syrcus over and over. Not to mention the cutscene tea breaks

I just dont understand why they give different amount of rewards to the two MSQ roulette dungeons. Its already bad with people leaving the shorter one thanks to the great amount of exp you will miss..and now you even get three tomes less too..In the end the first one might be shorter but its also much more work than the second one..so it should give the same amount of exp and the same amount of tomes.

I am also not a fan of them giving the Falcon mount away with that..but if that can be a prize now please include the season mounts from PVP in that too! Why should be not be included if even such mounts are now there..

At least they did increase the amount of tomes but I still find it a bit funny how Yoshida is all about people not needing to play all the time and yet they now have that event at the end of a patch cycle again..
