R300 PvP Chocobo Racing is not rewarding

Hii,

I have an issue with the R300 Chocobo Racing. In particular, there is no reason why I should want to have other real players in my races.

With my maxed out Chocobo I can win easily against the NPCs, every time, except they go crazy on meteors... >.>

That's easy 1k MGP and 10 wins for my weekly challenge log.

However, when it happens that there are other real players with maxed out Chocobos in the race, it is a lot harder to win, wich means less MGP and I don't get my 10 wins for the week together within the 20 races wich I also need for my challenge log.

In other words there is no benefit of playing together with other players, just downsides. When I see another player I try to queue into another race track to avoid them or I simply quit racing for the day, not worth the time...


While there can't much be done about the issue with the 10 wins for the challenge log, I have a suggestion for the MGP reward in general:

We already have a system in place wich offers bonus EXP when other real players are in the race. I want to suggest to add an MGP reward too, since EXP are useless when your Chocobo is maxed out.
For the same reason I also want to suggest to add an MGP bonus to the little bonus roulette after every race, since it's just a time-waster right now.

I think it's also reasonable because it's more difficult to win against other players than NPCs, and a better reward would reflect that.

Agreed. I think I made the same suggestion a long time ago. Bonus exp does nothing when you're at cap, but bonus mgp for a more difficult race would be suitable.

They admitted the guy who made chocobo races got promoted to a different position which explains lack of improvements on this minigame over the years, but I seem to recall them floating the idea of a new sky course (Sea of Clouds) which may materialise some time.

This is still a problem. Even more now with the 50% MGP bonus while the event is running because more people are playing now.

Same. I thought I would be excited to race with other players in R300 but we all have the same build and the results are based on LUCK rather than SKILL.

I wouldn't mind racing with other players if there was MGP bonus instead of EXP bonus awarded.

Yeah it often comes down to how fast you can leave the gate at the start of the race. If you get blocked by the other chocobos you basically have already lost the race.

Personally, I run Tranquil Paths which is like 99% guaranteed to be only NPCs. In Sagolii sometimes there are people queueing.

Can you post screen shots of your bird's stats? I built my bird with the intention of running Sagolii only. I am afraid my bird won't finish Tranquil Paths lol

You're welcome. Hopefully this demonstrates how we feel about it and the devs figure something out!!

For the amount of time and effort you have to put into Chocobo racing to make it to that level, I agree.

It seems like you can easily earn MGP at a faster rate from just playing the new-ish Botanist minigame over and over again.

Hello again, with the Make It Rain Campaign on the horizon I wanted to say:

This is still an issue.

People would probably want to use their racing Chocobos they have invested a lot of time in to farm MGP with the bonus during the event. But realisticly they will have trouble to get much more MGP than outside of the event because of the competition.
