Savage loot system. Should be changed?

As I am very happy with the implements that we got each time (books, chests) I still think there is space for improvement.

I dont understand why cant we get 1 piece from each turn every week. It would be awesome if we didnt get the gear that we could join other pug group and try again, this would make pugs a lot leds toxic and having people with experience.
Also would make us do more clears and less tedious expert roulletes making cap every week more fun and helping new people get their clears.

Any ideas or things that should be implemented? Is it even possible some things could be changed?

Myself personally I have already cleared titan so im gonna quit the game and come back when stuff is farmeable to have fun gearing up other classes.
Would be awesome if the game would let us do that from the start... Or having another oportunity when changings jobs or something

Please for the love of the twelve do NOT start yet another thread on the topic of Savage Loot system when there are others already talking about it. If you want to get the devs attention on a subject they want long threads with relevant posts having multiple likes. every person starting their own thread just dilutes the conversation.

the gearing system is designed to NOT gear up people quickly. the savage fights were already tuned 15% lower HP from original design. The best groups are already getting Titan savage to 15% or less hp even at the start of Orogenesis (Phase 3). Other people will be not even seeing enrage casts soon enough in their fights. You've already said yourself you're going to quit - the devs DO NOT WANT people to gear up fast.

the sooner people gear up and get BIS the sooner they leave because raids are released 6 months apart.

No, im quitting because doing 1 clear per week its too little stuff to do, i finish it in 90 minutes. If i could clear it several times with reward (like when its open to farm) i would stay playing and doing it with other jobs.

If you're only intrested in Savage, your best bet is to quit the game, yes.
Riddle me this: If you could run Savage as often as you'd like to run it (rewards included) how long do you think would it take you to gear up all the jobs you're intrested in gearing up? And what would you do after all of your jobs are geared up? Remember: You have 6 months til the next raid tier and if you're only intrested in Savage gear and got everything... why would you stay subbed?

If u could get 1 drop of each turn per week It would be 96 pieces in 6 month. Thats gearing like half jobs and still is being very extreme.
It also makes u go and pug more and make people withoun static more chances to clear content.
I dont get that why having more flexibility is worse

To gear all jobs you need a total of 62 pieces of gear plus a maximum of 17 weapons, which ends up being 79 pieces total. Now, I know that the distribution of the different pieces varies, but it seems pretty likely to me that 6 months would be enough to get those pieces.
If we go with the assumption that you'll get one piece of loot from each tier each week and we'll assume on top of that that you'll get the "ideal" distribution (which seems fair if we apply your request to run this unlimited, meaning you can fish for the right gear), this is what you'd have to run - this is ignoring extra loot you'd get through tokens aswell as tomestone-gear that might be better. We'll aim for 100% Savage-gear or rather: as close to 100% as we can get, seeing how only one of two rings can be from Savage.

E1: 27 runs needed - 20 for all assecories, 7 for the belts
E2: 14 runs needed - 7 for gloves, 7 for boots*
E3: 14 runs needed - 7 for head, 7 for legs*
E4: 24 runs needed - 7 for the chest-pieces, 17 for the weapons

*gloves, boots and head gear drops in both E2 and E3 - it seemed more sensible to split it in a way that required an equal amount of runs from E2 and E3. One could ofc do 21 runs of E2 and only 7 of E3 (for the legs). Or any other combination.

So your biggest culprit here would be E1 with those 27 weeks - followed by a very tight E4 requirement if you truely wanted to gear up all jobs with just Savage gear.

And actually it would not give people without a static better chances to clear content - have you ever taken a look at what happens to Ex-primals 1-2 months after their release? You start to see less and less parties for them - especially no learning parties anymore aswell as fewer farm-parties. And why is that? Because people were able to farm them unlimited, those who were intrested in doing that, finished and have now no reason to go back again, thus making it more difficult to find skilled parties to learn, clear or even farm the content.
Thats how this would have a bad impact on us as a playerbase aswell as on the buisness-side of SE who wants you to stay subbed, which is why that "flexibility" would be a bad thing for them.

You also didnt answer my question: If you could farm Savage to your hearts content and gear up all the jobs (...even the 11 ones you still need to level up to 80...) what would you do then? What would you make you stay subbed until the next raidtier?

I still see people doing both prims farms and learning parties today, and im not saying to liberate content im saying to at least get us 1 piece to make us get more rewards for doing savage.

To answer your question, i play for story, raiding and leveling jobs. If i finish 2 of them I quit till something else appears so yeah If I finish my raiding rewards and story (as I am now) i quit till next raid or story appears.
By doing what I say i would play and gear a lot more classes making raiding longer (running a lot more that just 2 hours a week)

I was just answering the question "Savage loot system. Should be changed?" "No, it's better then the old system."

1. Just because it is better than the old system does not mean it does not need to be changed/improved because it does.
2. While this improve the raid loot for statics it did literally nothing for pugs (pugging is a way of playing and should not be excluded with "oh you can just join a static" fights with pugs are more dynamic and keep an otherwise static fight interesting)
3. I cleared this tier a month before my friend, but he's now more geared, 6 ilvls higher, than me. That's just bad design if someone literally a month behind you suddenly jumped to 3 months (have 5/16 books atm for weapon and chest) ahead after clearing a month after you just because RNG. What's SE trying to say? If your RNG sucks doesn't matter how good you are or how fast you clear?
4. 1 clear a week extends this content in a frustrating way not a good way especially when you get NOTHING that week and sometime it doesn't extend it it just kills the content early on for some people since they're not going to deal with the RNG of getting nothing.
5. Some people would like to get gear earlier to test out certain jobs to see potential output and optimizing fights, honestly I enjoy optimizing fights when I get gear, in reverse when I don't get anything that week I don't feel like doing anything even crafting/achievement hunting/glamour hunting because I feel annoyed at the game.
6. The RNG mitigation system is ok for early turn pieces but 4 months for both my weapon and chest piece is stupid especially if I want to try other classes out too.
7. Honestly a middle ground might be letting those that get no loot for that turn to still be eligible for a loot on that turn (So they can throw themselves at it until they get something for the week). Or improve the RNG mitigation system.

Savage loot is broken as all hell. It doesnt promote any form of community building, and this is the most difficult content where you want the most amount of cooperation. Currently it is a toxic wasteland that is shameful and frankly insulting to us players.

My solution would be:
1 piece per person per week.
No chest degradation for multiple people who have clears

In this way friends who have cleared could help teach other people the fight while still getting a shot at their weekly piece if they missed it on their static night, and it would keep more people running the content every week.

They really need to reduce the amount of books required to buy gear if anything. If you're too unlucky to win anything from ES4 (Which is improbable but not to an unrealistic extent, especially when there's nothing keeping people from rolling on coffers when they're already BiS), you'd need 16 books or nearly four months worth of clears to get both the weapon and chest piece which is utterly ridiculous.

I see no issue with making savage more accessible by making players get geared faster. It would encourage people to try other jobs more readily.

I would also not be against preventing people from rolling on coffers if they already have an Edengrace item in that particular slot.

a lot of this has to do with not being a static where you can assign loot to people. if you choose to pug life it, you're gonna have to be prepared to deal with the consequences of RNGesus. can't have your cake and eat it too.

Apparently the JP playerbase was displeased about the change to the loot system in Eden specifically because it sucks for people who don't have a static group; enough that Yoshi P had to reassure them that the average PUG player would still be getting more loot overall (Evidently, I'm not average as I still haven't won anything from ES4 after 10 clears now).

Ironically, it works better there because the "me first" attitude is something that is inherently discouraged in their culture and people are much more willing to pass on coffers if they see others who genuinely need the upgrades.

I'm surprised they didn't at least limit how many coffers you can win per raid in 5.1 as having roll against one less person per item you lose would improve your odds a little.

What they could do is, once duty is complete, allowed players to farm it with a 3% chance of dropping a BOOK.

Clear in 90 minutes, spend the next 7 days farming

Or they could give everyone who didn't get an item a second book as a consolation price. This way, even if you never get an item you would still have chest & weapon after 8 clears.

Haha, I've never even done any Savage modes. I plan on trying them soon. Maybe with next patch but the one thing I really love is that you honestly don't need the gear from them. It's not that far ahead of the gear you can get with the latest tomestones...just a little extra something for those who put in the time and effort. Even if it takes forever to get them then that's fine with me. Its not needed but a nice little something extra for those who work at it. I just think it's nice not to need this stuff if you don't want to do it or don't have the time to do it but it's still a good little bonus for those that do.
