Ardbert Card? Missing Triple Triad NPCs?

In order to get the Ardbert Card, you need to beat 92 NPCs. According to websites, there's 93 in-game. Yet I only seem to have 91 beaten, Lewena doesn't count to the total, and I can't find the last one even after backtracking to older areas.

Have any new NPCs been added to old locations? I was at 90 until I found a new guy tucked away in the back of Idyllshire, but I've beaten everyone in Shadowbringers so far and I'm baffled as to who I'm missing.

Have you played TT with all of the hidden imperials? one in Mor Dhona, One in Azys Lia, and one is hidden in an Alley way in the Ala Mhigan quarter

Some NPCs won't show up or be able to be played against until you get far enough in something. One NPC wasn't available to me until a certain point into Eureka, and another didn't show up until I did some Heaven on High content. I use https://arrtripletriad.com/en/cards to track my cards and look up ones I need.

Have you returned to Fortemps Manor as that was one i missed?, also they added one in the hinterlands near Matoya's cave (this was my 92nd NPC), they like to put npcs anywhere including instances like rising stones/waking sands etc.

Yeah, I beat the HoH guys, the Imperials, the Fortemps Manor butler, and the one near Matoya's cave.

I was in the same boat you are days ago, i couldn't find the last NPC to beat and get my Ardbert Card so i got back to every single map and did check the zone maps in min size, so i found the NPC missing to me in Sea of Clouds at Vanu Vanu Beast Tribe, his Triple Triad icon don't show if you zoom the map because there's many Tribe Quests at same place.

There are several npcs that are locked behind Eureka progression, unfortunately...

I’m pretty sure cards were added to NPCs in some of the old areas I was sure I had beaten all NPCs then after 5.0 dropped I saw an NPC I had not beaten in the Dravarian Forelands

There are 2 locked behind Eureka and at least one locked behind Hildebrand side quests. There is also one in the Doman Enclave that some people miss as you very rarely have to go back there.

It's difficult to help as you could have simply missed one that was sitting right under your nose. Your best bet is going through the triple triad website and mark off all the cards you own. This will help narrow down your search to NPC's that give the cards you're yet to obtain. 95% of the time this should work for you.

In the unlucky event that you're looking for an npc that gives cards you already have, you'll just have to root through them all :(

I think they still have the new duelist mark on them, even if you got the cards they drop from different means. But your idea would be their best bet, imo. I'm currently using the https://triad.raelys.com/ site, since ffxivtriad is ded. Cycling through all the duelists, while tedious, is one way to check what's missing.

They do yes, but if the site doesn't indicate that you need to face that npc in order to get their cards due to already having them, you wouldn't even think to investigate said npc

I ran into this issue a couple weeks ago when I was trying to finish this achievement. I had literally all of the cards you could get via battling NPCs, and for me my missing NPC was that I apparently had never battled a Vath beastman.

The best information that I can give you from my own personal experience is that any NPC you haven't won against will have an icon over their head that shows up on the map (like the quest ! markers and such). This icon only shows up on the map if you are in the same zone as them. So the good news is that you don't have to exhaustively get close to each NPC to check, but you will at least have to flip through each and every zone. Of course, if a certain area is overrun with sidequest markers, you may need to zoom way in, or actually visit the NPC in person to check if the icon is over their head.

As several people have said by this point, whenever I hear this complaint, I usually assume they didn't unlock all of the Eureka zones (note: participation/completion of BA [Baldesion Arsenal] is not necessary. I refused to do it.), since that locks out some TT NPCs and a fair number of people refused to participate in that hot garbage content.

...Now for the hard part of finding the last two I haven't finished off...I have almost all the cards from NPCs, only 4 of them hold a card I need, but I'm 99% sure I've beaten all 4 of the at least once. Guess I know what I'm doing while waiting for DPS queues.

Edit: Just like Berteaux, the Vanu Vanu one was the one that got me 92...still missing one, so still going on the hunt this evening.
