Can we get the ability to abandon a class/job? I'd prefer to only have the jobs I like on a character and not see partly leveled jobs I don't like on my character sheet. Thanks

Hmm, I think I get it. I'd also rather see multiple 80s and 0s instead of 80s with couple other numbers inbetween. Looks way neater that way :D but no, afaik there is no such possibility
I dunno, if you suddenly loved the changes to a class seems like it would be a swift kick to the gut to have to start over from the starting level, more so because any number between 1-79 annoys you?
you could hide the classes with your fingers and thumb whenever you enter the menu? and pretend they don't exist.
No! Why would you want that?? Part of the fun in not having all your skills leveled is seeing someone try to call you out on something because they took time out of their day to look you up on lodestone (aww) not realizing that people with alts really do exist in this game. I love seeing people fall for the same logical traps over and over again. I thrive off it! :D
Honestly I... agree. There is no way in Hawaii I'm ever levelling AST (and several other jobs I tried but didn't like) past 70, and after forcing myself to get that far, I regretted all the time I'd invested into it. I desynthed my globe like a year ago and haven't touched it since, but the fact that I can't do the same to the job stone stings my OCD.
I change main characters several times partly because of this. Although, last expansion, I did get the satisfaction of leveling all combat jobs (aside from Blue Mage) to 70, all gathering classes to 70, Culinarian to 70, and the rest of the crafting classes to 68 on one character. But, ultimately, beyond the fun of leveling, I ended up not using most of them, so I try to be conservative with leveling this expansion with my current character. Next expansion, I may change character again.
I would like this too. I'd like to remove Blue Mage completely. :)
I had to double check to make sure it was still Sunday.
I definitely get it, but understand the request is a bit out there. Like 'Pluto' out there. I wish there was some kind of filter setting so I can see only the jobs I want to see. That would actually be the easiest way for the devs to implement this into the game.
You can't unlearn experience. Just like when you did Karate as a kid but don't like it anymore, you will still know and remember some movement. That's why your character can't unlearn archer completely as he already knows how to shoot arrows with a bow.
While we're at it, can we also hide specific races then?
I have no intention of ever playing them, and I don't want to see them ingame
I get it as well, OP. What I do is level them to an even number 20, 30, 60 etc It seems to help my OCD and looks neater!
Except for AST It's at 71 a perpetual reminder how I used to love it now I don't. :p SMN would be that way too but SCH is ok so it gets a free ride.
Just max every class, problem solved.
Why is this even a thread? To satisfy a few peoples OCD and offer no real improvement or QoL to the game? Waste of the developers time.
I dunno why but I find the idea of the WOL abandoning their job as a blm and walking back to the Thaumaturge's guild and asking to apply as if suffering from some sort of amnesia kind of funny.
Though on a serious note, no.
Haha, I actually thought about that one, too. But I found that a bit odd. My Lalafell is rather interested in many things, but only RDM and SCH will reach 80. The gap to the other professions is a whopping 30 levels and more. That's an effective and easy hint to show that I am a hardcore Red Mage freak (and part-time Scholar).
What irks me most is that I get that other profession levelled when I skill my Scholar.
My BLU will stay at 1 Forever.
Level everything else to low level benchmarks. Like lvl 30 for all classes for their Jobs and lvl 15 for DoL/DoH.
My OCD is with you TC, though I don't really think there is any actual need for developer time to be spent on this.
Get help for your OCD instead of asking SE to make a completely unnecessary and non-impactful change to accomodate it, imo
If you want the honor of having that - on your job list, you have to have the fortitude to never unlock it.
I'm looking at you, MCH.
Are you willing to give up your extra gear sets as well ?
That's how i feel

I'd like this too but I realize it's very unlikely to happen since it'd probably mess all kinds of other things in the game.
Instead I'm going to leave the few jobs I have absolutely no desire to try (GUN, GUN2, and SMN) as blanks, and the rest I'll eventually get to a nice even checkpoint like 50/60 to look uniform.
Super petty and pointless not needed
I assume you mean the sets you set up and switch between as opposed to sets of gear for a particular job. Do you even come close to using them all? What is there, 50 of them now? The inventory system can't even accommodate fully using them. If you use 'em great, I just don't think I ever would. :)
Did you play it on an alt? I mean how do you know you hate it so much?
SE wouldn't even spare a brain cell for this idea. This would be a complete waste resources to implement.
I don't understand. You want to be permanently locked out of content? Content that could potentially improve and become more fun to play down the line?
