I would enjoy level sync feature in addition to current systems.

Just sitting here at work thinking to myself,

"I wonder how the lower levels of the jobs and classes play with all their new revisions."

"I leveled up everything before the changes, and I really don't want to start a new character to try out the revisions."

"I could probably level-sync with a new player, teach them the ropes of FFXIV and get a feel for the revisions at the same time. That seems pretty win/win to me. You know, over powerleveling them while they sit nearby doing nothing."

Anywho, nothing more than a thought on a nice day at work, wishing I was home playing.

please bring back level sync, it was VERY handy. YES there are players that have all classes to 50, and I want to level some level 15 stuff with them , that would be fun! :)

Agreed, would be helpful to new players/community and at the same time lessen the level of boredom for those with maxed jobs/classes.

I completely agree. Level Sync is sorely missing from this game. We've had many new and returning players joining our ranks with patch 1.21 and the only way to play with them is PL.

The PL issue makes me wish for the original skill up system.

I want to have co-operative play when i'm grouped, not afk leeches.

Agreed, now if only we could get Yoshi-p to see it the same way.

A few LS mates throughout the day would log on and try to get a lv 30ish PT started. However the majority of our LS have all classes/job 50/50.

Naturally a lot of us would have teamed up if we were able to level sync.

It's too bad all these members weren't able to be online at the same time maybe they could have done a small PT. But there resorted to Leves or begging for PL.

If this feature is to help your friends, is for that, and if you want to level up faster, go level your level. An exp penalization seems to me a good way to people help their friends but never exploit it like FFXI.

I'm sorry, I don't think this is the way to go. You should reward the player exping at a level lower than theirs to help others out. Giving a 50 an incentive to join a lower level party rather than a 45+ party helps out the lower players, and keeps those lower levels playing longer, as they find it easy to set up a party as all these friendly level 50's just join up whenever they shout.

Why do you want to allow people to help out those lower leveled than them, yet penalize them for doing so?

I just don't see the point of Level Sync if there is no incentive for higher levels. I would rather wait for a party in my range than sync down and I think many others are the same way. Even in mog's situation, you'd get bored of it after a while of trying out the new jobs at lower levels, and stop.

^ totally wrong, you cant reward a system like this, or people will stop leveling at corrects places, overcamping low levels ones.

as lots of people said, level sync is to help your friends, WHY u have to be rewarded to help friends? you do it coz they are your friends.

Seems like lots of people want this feature just to exploit it like people did in FFXI killing the same colibries from level 50 to 70 and then change again to another colibries.

Is a feature to help your friends, not to level up easier.

I don't think there should be a penalty, lvl 50 would level sync for easy Spiritbonding.

How many threads are you guys going to make?

As many as it takes until SE implements level sync in our current version. Waiting for it in 2.0 is too long.

it takes maybe 3-4 weeks for the average player to reach 50 playing daily, shorter if they have help. You're asking that the devs throw everything aside and cater to your needs so you can play with your friends matching their levels for the 1-2 hours that they are that level. I seriously don't see the need. You chose to level all your jobs to 50. You could've saved a couple for last if you really wanted to group up with lower level friends.

The content being made right now is catering towards 50. It's pretty safe for SE to assume that players who have jobs all at 50 have already done everything the game has to offer.

FFXI needed it. Too many players at high levels with low level players coming in. Capped content that higher level players couldn't participate in unless they had the correct equipment. It was the right move at the time.

XIV is still fledgling. You only have 50 levels to worry about per class. It does not need it. You do not need it. The developers don't need to be hassled by it at the moment. 240 developers who are doing better things than worrying about how game-breaking adding Level-sync might be.

Suck it up and do something else.

If i may, i've made it to 36 with my "main class" and as you can (hopefully) see in my signiture i've been able to slowly raise my other classes up a bit here and there. But i hope as a person fairly new to this game (Bout 4 weeks now) perhaps i can helps some see from my perspective.
Let me preface:
I've played many many MMOs From Dragonrealms to GW1, EQ 1 and 2 Asherons call eve online etc, etc.
FF11 was not among them despite my lgeneral love for the FF series as a whole, my time zone and time available to play didnt allow me at that time to join in.

I had a very tough time when i started finding someone, anyone to join me in the Imperial Devices quest. A very nice person who has helped me again and again since brought me through it. He was level 50 all maxed it seems. I was very happy to finish the quest, however...

I did nearly nothing for it. I couldn't hardly land a hit before something keeled over which makes it less then fulfilling.

Then a few days ago i had put up in search that i'd run toto-rak if needed. A lvl 31(i think) person had been looking desperately (likely as i was) for someone to run his Imperial devices quest. It was fun and enjoyable. but it was much more fulfilling. We both needed to act to get through. we wiped on a boss (since we kept going) 3 times, and enjoyed it too.

The difference? Was really the trivialization of the content due to level. Not that i disagree at all if someone wants to have a lvl 50 friend just run them through. But for myself and the lvl 31 person, it was a much more enjoyable experience.

Another thing i often see, besides shouts for parties i can't qualify for, is a general lack of folks it many areas. For those that maybe saved a class incase a friend plays or are working on a unused class theres very few people, nevermind opportunities, to randomly group up.

My personal opinion definately tend toward level sync. It offers far more opportunities for everyone, both max leveled and new people like myself, to group and play and ejoy the content too. I see so much on the forums here about max level, end game end point. PL etc i sometimes wonder if theres much of a place for a new player like myself whom is so far behind so many. Many MMOs, by their very nature of levels and gear boosts and raiding etc make it tough for newer players to enter in. It sometimes feels like FF14 is even a bit harder.

Lvl sync can also spread out populations somewhat, since you can offer to group with nearly anyone, and still advance, it may be slower, it may not (often depends on how the system is set up and that is up to the Developers). But the options are much more open.

To claim simply that if sync gives the best exp/per X its a bad system is is to then infer that the PL system is also a bad system because it accomplishes the same thing. I personally have no issue with either system being the one players choose provided it is either sanctioned by the developers (or its use ignored and not punished) so this is a quick story of how i learned what Powerleveling in FF14 entailed

Concerning Sync and powerleveling. I'll admit i had no idea what PL entailed untill someone who i'd rather not name offered to help me, "level fast" I thought Party Leve questing or some such, maybe a dungeon run. Turned out it was this PL thing. After one mob which i ofcourse attempted to help fight against (and thus died) i thanked "someone" for trying to help and apolagized for wasting his time and left. I thought it was an exploit, and wanted no part. and even if its grey area, i much prefer leveling as i journey through a game as apposed to running to the endpoint. Granted its not that i don't move quick, things to be done, greenswraths to be quelled and all that.

The above gets to my point. I made a personal choice to not partake of this system. I would choose to use a level sync system. Not because its the quickest way, if it is thats also fine. But because i would be an active and needed part of that leveling group.

It shouldn't be a persons agenda to see that a particular choice be the "best way" of, in this case, level gain. And thus ensure that not only any other way, but any other system is either not put in place or beaten down to worthlessness to ensure that. As players my opinion is we should foster ideas that can be fun, perhaps not to you or me, for players to group, adventure, play and enjoy the game we all pay for.

(fyi i place opinion in many of my posts because they are exactly that.)

TY Viritrss, this exactly why we're campaigning for level sync to be added sooner in XIV's life rather wait for its implementation in ver 2.0 (which has been confirmed)

While I don't think level sync is the solution... I understand what Viritess is saying.

It's just, who told everyone to max out all their character's classes to 50 ? Rush through the job quests in a day ? Get their AF in two days ? Complete AV and CC by the third day ?

I mean... people are so hungry for content they basically ruined the game for themselves. The sanction for PLing all your classes to 50 is pretty obvious - You won't get to enjoy the game when lower leveled content comes out.

Ah well, if the issue at hand is to want to play with your friends, what's stopping you guys from making a new character to play with them ? We're already paying a discounted subscription fee.

edit: especially if level syncing at 50 grants you no benefit whatsoever idk. knowing the playerbase for this game, we'd get bored of level syncing as soon as it came out.

I agree for the level sync if they also removing the PL system ,
I too have got a lot of friend waiting for help and some also keep nagging for PL.

For so long time i have wonder what's new player do nowaday ,
How could they keep up to the endgame content that many ppl
require the party setup to be specific class if new players start with the different classes.

This level sync maybe the solution to fix this situation , but leveling now (not PL)
is way so far more easier than the launched patch in my opinion.
