Bowel of Embers in Daylight!

So, it seems like the Bowel of Embers utterly crashed on us. The whole party got R0 simultaneously. I gave up trying to log back in with all the 3102 and 30002 errors, but I tried again a few hours later and, lo and behold, I was alive and well standing alone in the Bowel of Embers.

Naturally, I went exploring. Screenshots or it didn't happen, you say? Happy to oblige.

Inside that cave is an invisible barrier that speaks softly "You cannot proceed any further."

In the passages to the rear of the bowel, there is a strange aetheryte that "emits a dull light..." No doubt this is how one can access the bowel by the grace of an Inferno Lantern.

oooo interesting. I wonder if I crash my game in there if I could see this too lol, thats a messed up looking aetheryte, seems the beastmen dont like anima restrictions either ^^

Isn't that just the place you go in the main storyline where you see Ifrit for the first time and parlay/fight your way past certain death?

The bowel of embers is located somewhere different. In the Firerrhea.

Could the end of the L25 Ifrit quest explain why that Aetheryte seems to have been crudely reassembled?

Enjoyed the pics of this odd event btw.

I crashed in Thornmarch'once. When I got back, the purple haze was gone but the moogles were still around.

Wow thats wierd, and seems like the amal'ja got pissed when they ran out of anima and crushed the aether.

It does, unfortunately, not explain it at all. However, according to that very quest Beastmen use 'special' aetherial gates that only they can see (from what I gathered those are an artificial creation, one could call them almost 'stealth gates' so to say, and there IS one linking the Bowl of Embers directly to Gridania). It is probably that this 'amalgamated aetheryte' is related to those altered gates.
