What do you think the Relics in Shadowbringers will make us do this time? My guess it will involve doing Shared FATES in Norvrandt and buy items with bicolor gemstones from that reigon.

Something excessively grindy and unfun, with the end result being a crappy glamour stick that's dead on arrival because tome/Savage gear already exists and outclasses it.
For real though, I'm convinced they're gonna do something with Shared FATEs to get people doing them and unlocking the Eulmore/Crystarium vendor. Fun.
I predict we will have to wait to 5.2 because the content it is attached to is just not ready and then it is simply fate farming with a sprinkle of mobs.
I also predict that it will involve the shared fate system and maybe the trust system. I will guess they will make an eureka type raid for the final step, since that is one of the few parts of SB eureka people actually enjoyed.
Eureka is a nightmare for those who missed out on old content. Almost no one does Eureka now
Just hope it is not added late like it was in Stormblood.
I imagine will involve fates at the very least and perhaps darkness (so instead of light farming, darkness farming? lol idk)
I feel like it has to be delayed at this point, or we would have heard anything at all about it (unless they're decoupling the relic from Eurekademv5).Quote:

Unless its going to be a surprise 5.1 addition with all the other things theyve said will be 5.1 additions, I hold out 0 hope for it being on time.
I'm actually ok with the shared FATES thing. I don't mind them as much mainly because most of them are in current maps compared to use having to go back and do 1-50 fates in older areas. They usually go quick with 3-4 other players doing them with you.
I keep speculating that after the Empty is restored, they're going to use that land as another version of Eureka and they'll most likey have some kind of relic grind there as well.
I suspect it will involve the Gerolt counterpart on the first. He's in the Tempest so he might come across something in Amaurot. Maybe a device that takes a user's imagination/thoughts and turns it into reality when fed enough aether. So he surmise that we can use this technology to synthesize a powerful weapon based on our memories/fights etc. Gives us some kind of tool that records our battles (think like Light farming) and have to do a bunch of SB content like with the Anima weapons. Trade items from beast tribes and gathering etc like the Umbral sands and unidentified step. Basically grinding out things.
Thought I heard they were bringing back the Diadem for something? Had assumed it had something to do with the relic.
Help AU!Gerolt try futilely to get out of debt from AU!Rowena.
Then again, considering how the Beast Tribes are much more hospitable with people on the First and an indication of a different type of status quo, maybe we'll see a chance of his situation actually improving or even being different from what we've come to expect!
Run SB 24 mans to get a 5% drop item from each of them.
I dont think it will be ready in 5.1, probably 5.15 or pushed back to 5.2
I just hope its not tied to Eureka style content.
I just hope for a cool design, ARR Relics was cool, all of them, in HW some Relics was cool but there's some ugly weapons as well, in SB ALL Relics qas ugly af. It's like the design is going down hill for each Expansion, i don't know if it's even possible to make something uglier than SB but i hope not.
Eureka 2.0. Didn't they already confirm the next Eureka?
Relics generally served two purposes:
- to give casual players a chance to get a unique and fairly strong weapon
- to give players an incentive to do non-endgame content
So, my money is on:
- shared FATEs; seems only logical because it has ranks and currency
- 70s dungeons, probably ShB dungeons aswell
- high-end crafting things
- tomestone things
- daily/ weekly roulette quests
- MAYBE some GC seal stuff, but I'm not too sure about that
Basically everything that lets you grind stuff and fill queues at the same time.
Not a bad approach, because the longer an expansion has been out, the emptier certain queues tend to be and many people don't bother with 50/60/70 roulette, so new players doing the MSQ tend to wait quite a bit for their dungeons to pop when doing post-HW/ post-SB story.
My prediction is that is completely irrelevant for casual players (kinda their target audience) cause the grind required is just not something a casual player usually can`t put into something. And that it will be replaced by easier options during the expansion and after the expansion.
Either relics become the very BiS with difference. Or their "overall grind" get cut like in half or a fourth even. Think about the "nerfed" relic grinds. That should be their "starting grind point".
Also. All stages should incorporate stat and look customization. ALL OF THEM.
Just hope it doesn't revolve around any RNG heavy things like the materia phase from the ARR Relic, Fates....ugh..but I'll live. That was the most annoying aspect, more so cus the older materia was like 10k a pop on all servers for a Tier 2.
With the immense grind and horrid time sink relics require to progress... I fail to see how they are for casual players. That player group by definition has limited time to play.
I honestly feel the fates will be the starting point of it, me and the guild been talking about that since we first got into the expansion. Would not be surprised to see you need to buy 1 Tier 3 item from each vendor for 300-400 currency each.
I do hope they have some unique content for them though. I was not a fan of the ARR and HW relics at all. Spamming lower lvl dungeons and fates for months and months was not fun.
Just no more Eureka stuff please. Good lord that was a mistake.
My prediction is people will complain about it no matter what they do.
Well probably won't be like ARR or HW since dev team didn't like making those quest while they did like making eureka
I liked Eureka. I somehow wish it would be similar to that of Eureka! Baldesion Arsenal was such an epic dungeon when you first reach it up to the first 3 successful clears before starting to feel a little dry after.
Eureka probably won't work again because once it becomes old content it stays dead unless you have friends that can help you with your relic if your late to the party.
Eureka the Second needs to be something more cohesive that doesn't involve baited relic collectors and such into force playing it.
Personally, I would have liked Eureka better if the relics weren't tied to it because of that and it had a different purpose that would have genuinely kept players subscribed from casuals to hardcores alike.
Wouldn`t mind if they did something that paid homage to the older games by introducing ATB system, but I feel very few would enjoy it in execution
- don't lock it behind Eureka-style content, please
- make the final forms look cool and badass, not tiny and effiminate like the SB ones.
I kinda wish the relic would be in Eureka-like content. In Stormblood I was given the gift of time as I NOPE'd out of Eureka after six levels and thus didn't complete any SB relics.
