The Rising Event Rewards

Small stuff this year a minion and a lot of wallpaper from SB not going to lie while i like the wallpaper was hoping for more oh well.

Also gotta love it starts at Costa Del Sol this year.

Am I the only super tired of Y'shtola? I mean, it's an adorable minion... but geez, she's like the poster character for this game.

I'm personally fine with these rewards. I love posters, and it's nice to have so many for this event, particularly because I liked a lot of the StB patch art.

Rewards would be nice if my server had housing. :rolleyes: Don't mind Y'shtola much, would've personally liked a Wind-up Runar but I get he's not a MSQ main character.

They're still usable in apartments and FC rooms at least.

Runar's about as significant as Cirina who was the minion from the 2018 rising so maybe we might see him next year when they've had more time to gauge the popularity of side characters from the SHB MSQ.

Aren't Rising event rewards always quite tiny? So this isn't a surprise or worth wishing something more. In the past it has been minions, orchestrion rolls or just prisms.

that post didn't give much info, no idea what the quest is going to involve.

Spriggan and Twintania do not have housing at all. We can't even enter the housing areas until god knows when. That's what he meant.

To be fair, on a "roleplaying" point of view, I don't think Eorzean are really inclined at promoting genocidal maniac with cute moving plushies but on the other hand we have mini world-ending dragon and various criminal NpC as minion too so, yeah why not, could be fun having a little Emet following us. Too bad I'm a beck on maniac so if it won't sit on my shoulder they'll collect dust.

Problem was they gave both main themes for SHB through the MSQ. So there are no current rolls to give that will end up on the mogstation shortly after.

A minion was a given but I'm surprised by the amount of posters. I think this may be a norm of getting last year's artwork on a poster for the current year's event now.

Anyway considering how the Halloween event is going to contain some amazing things I'm totally okay with a decent Rising this year. The story in that event alone is what makes it imo.

Someone could have made it as a gag. (Each minion has different bits of lore behind it)

She has every right to be, she's easily the most powerful of the Scions, and she's worked for it, taken risks and beat the odds, twice. I've found her to be the most blunt of the group, the rest (aside from the twins I guess) are all shady as heck and never seem to give a damn about the WoL's actual wellbeing. Thancred hasn't been likable at all since Heavensward, and Urianger needs a smack across the mouth for previously stated reasons.

Also, she's the face of the game, and generally the first representative to show up in any collaboration because she is instantly recognisable.

I wasn't expecting back to back glamour sets, but so glad we're getting posters and not just some forgettable food platter. Anything but food platters.

I like the Y'shotla minion. Usually am not very excited to get just a minion and posters for events but this was me though

She was awful pre SHB but I like her a lot.

The Indiana Jones type thing was the most memorable event for me in this game. LA-HEE!

Ha, Was going to remark that last year we got the earrings which were pretty cool. But folks had a melt down about it.

Minion is cute! Posters are ok can't really see them to well but I'll get them anyway, Because I don't know.

My walls could use some color. Sure, I'll take 'em.

Another minion to.....keep out for an hour or two, then get bored and hit the random button again. Neat.

It's definitely a bit odd, but most seasonal events do have 'level appropriate' rewards and they just seem to make an exception for the Rising since it's all about celebrating the game's history.

Still can be confusing from a new player's perspective - I'd only just reached story Lv15 for the Rising 2017, and here's this weird bard guy talking to me like I've been all through Stormblood, and some minions for characters I haven't even met yet...

On some more current-spoilery notes...

Spoilers are such an odd thing in this game because newcomers may or may not get spoiled by anything from trailers playing at the menu screen to Mog Station items to titles and minions that other players are using. (Saw someone commenting that seeing other players with the G'raha Tia minion spoiled/confirmed the Exarch's identity before they got to it... long-term, people might see there's a minion at the point when they've only done CT, and figure out he's coming back in ShB when they look up how to get it.)

And if we're presumably getting a set of new-outfit Scions, the Urianger minion would be a spoiler for anyone who hasn't got up to the WoD arc yet, where you're not supposed to recognise him at first. He's in the trailer looking like that of course, but they might have avoided watching it.

Also I learned that Yotsuyu was still alive after Doma Castle not because I'd finished Stormblood yet, but because she was on the current patch banners at the launcher as I was working through it.

So.... yeah, it's weird. But there's similar weirdness all over the place.

Is that confirmed? I'm not fussed about the Ravens but I wanted to get a spare set of Manderville earrings.

Not every event has to have amazing items.

While the items look do look nice. The only problem with posters and other furnishings is that quite a lot of players don't have anywhere to put them...

Time to clear some space on my retainer!

From what I have been told, they are both labelled as "replicas" this time around.

Well Y'shtola is basically the Mascot/Representiative for FF14 now. Majority of cross-over event usually involves her being the representative for FF14. I will not be surprised if Y'shtola is the only Scion to stick with the WoL if we manage to get a Season 2 storyline set after Zodiark's defeat.

Makes sense. I'm happier to have replicas really - I don't want to be taking something that other people regard as 'special' but I really appreciate those red metallic hoop earrings. We need more colour choices for those.

...ooh, just looked them up and they're Lv1 instead of Lv20 like the originals! Finally, something else I can glamour on the aetheryte earring that isn't a bulky novelty mascot! The weathered gold earrings just don't look right with some outfits.

Probably only chose her in dissidia because no healer character
And Thancred is always with yshtola in most these side games so not like shes a big deal

Thank you SE for more housing rewards! Now give me housing on Spriggan, ffs!

Serious note: I really like the rewards. I can't get enough of different posters to set up. My retainers are bursting with housing stuff so I hope that SE opens wards on Spriggan/Twintania soonish.... Maybe... hopefully... yes?
